Silent environment, happy staff”
i went to khao yai with my husband & parents by self-driving, all 4 of us are satisfied with this hotel. the first thing is budgeted price and secondly is the unexpected good environment. however, need to ask clearly about the direction to the hotel as it is located deep down from the entrance of a small street, and the direction from the main road is not clear & sufficient. we finally need to call hotel before i could find the direction indicator. finally, our bathroom didn't have hot water in the first night, and the water comes slowly; but the staff fixed it immediately after we told them in the morning. as a conclusion, it is a good choice for you to stay while you travel in khao yai.

A good deal for our baht.”
Our stay was great! I hope that the owners will read my comments and thank their staff for the great jobs that all their staff did to make our stay very enjoyable. The next time we are in this part of Thailand, we will stay at the Piano Resort. I give the Piano Resort a 9+. Sincerely, Steve E.

Looked like a wonder but there's no wonder!”
After a new year breakaway in Bangkok, we took an overnight layover in Khao Yai on our way back to Khon Kaen. We firstly took a in site check before place booking. We found the resort was a peaceful & restful cutie resort for us to stay especially there got 2 queen beds in the twin room. The walkin tariff of the superior or deluxe room was 1800 baht incl 2 BAG but it will cost an extra 300 p.p. for my little 3 & 7 to kids, perhaps it seems overpriced of a 3 star hotel. So we're booking through Agoda instead, price just 1275++ (equivalent to 1506 baht net) with No breakfast, be frank we wouldn't think the abf would be a great treat therefore we just take a sleep overnight would be fine. After booking via Agoda we were back to the hotel around 9 pm. Then there was no staff or attendance whilst arrival, just left behind a decent and friendly security guard stay behind. He told us that all staff were gone after days of new year holiday. We found there were only a few cars still parking in the lot, assuming that just a few room guests were lodging there. We were arranged to a smaller size somewhat superior twin room although the hotel staff been told both 2 types of room are in the same price earlier. The room was quite ok with merely 27 sq.m. plus a little balcony which can see just a tree in front of us...lol no scenery. The tv monitor was small with limited tv channels as well as there was No WiFi reception within the room and the balcony. The washroom was quite smelly (stink) & drainage was poor plus quite low water pressure. The shower head was torn and greasy also lack of amenities. Even the bath gel dispenser was emptied. Fortunately it still provided some hit water for shower. Due to we were tired at night so everyone went to bed as earliest as possible (actually nothing interesting there at night). On the next day morning we were walked around the resort for some picturing.as there got a pool and some nice decors in the hotel. Probably explore again next.

Local get away ”
If you wanna know where thais go to stay in khao yai, it will be this place. The staffs are very helpful and thats very important for me. Clean room though It is very outdated but for the price you pay, this is a good. The only cons I have is that the location of this place. It is located deep inside, and if you are to get back to your hotel, mind you, it can get creepy because there is no street lights to get to it, its dark. There are 3 ways, two ways drive next to "forest", the second drive next "mini shrines (ghost houses)", and finally the other way on nice road, though it is not next to forest, and through open-field, no street light. Havig said that, it is a very quiet place, it has lake and the air is fresh. The breakfast is very decent, not much option. Anyway, I did enjoy the place, it serves its purpose. It's comfortable and we sleep well at night. Dont mind coming back for another get away. We stayed for 2 nights. My advice try to get to the place before its dark .

Nice theme and Scenery, but OK Room”
What we really like about the resort is that it has a great theme for music lover, nice mountain view that feels really nice. The room are ok. The water heater isn't working very well, it's either cold water, or full on heated. We changed room on the second day due to the air-con leaking, and we still had the water heater problem. Location wise: The Piano Resort is not exactly on the main road of Khao Yai, and as such, it would be preferable if you managed to have your own transport, and in my case, rental. I'm just glad I rented a car there. There isn't much amenities around there, and only a few staffs could understand English. This could be a bit of problem too. Overall, I think it's just an average resort..

Has potential”
The grounds and surrounding area are beautiful, and it is a short distance to the entrance to Khao Yai National Park, waterfalls outside of the park and a lot of great restaurants. However, the rooms are very old and run down and the breakfast was outright awful. Staff was very helpful and nice though.

Has potential but needs work”
The Piano was an ok hotel but the saddest thing about it is that it has such potential but falls short. The menu was uninspiring, breakfast was disappointing. It could be amazing but it needs a designer to go in there and re- decorate the whole place. It's full of ugly cutesy nik naks. The outdoor furniture is rotting away. It's a shame. the pool is nice and the views are lovely. There is a big swing on one of the trees that my son and his friend loved to play on. The layout of the rooms were ok but felt cold and hard instead of soft and warm.

Clean and spacious rooms with nice mountain view”
Stayed at this hotel over the long weekend and naturally, it was pretty full, but you couldn't feel it as the hotel is layed out over a large landscape. The villas are actually twin villas and the rooms are very spacious, clean and bright. The bed is very comfortable and AC worked well. Also hot water was no issue unlike mentioned by other reviewers. The choice of TV channels is limited to 8 channels, which is rather sad considering that a flat screen TV is provided in each room. On the other hand one doesn't go to this area of Thailand to stay in the room all day long, so it wasn't a big issue. The breakfast on the other hand was an absolute disaster. Probably the worst breakfast I have ever had - no kidding. Considering the cost of a night at this hotel with this breakfast is unacceptable and needs some serious attention by the F&B manager. The hotel provides a really nice pool with fantastic mountain view. They also have 5 Karaoke villas for those that want to sing the night away.

Huge room, clean, good for family/couples”
The hotel staff were very friendly. The room was a little far from the car park but the hotel provided a buggy services 24/7 to help get you to/from your room. Breakfast was just okay but what was fantastic was the room as it was huge and clean. Very good for family/couples

Overrated ”
In Thailand you usually get value for money but I didn't think Piano resort was that. When in a beautiful area like Khoa Yai you would expect some sort of view but our place overlooked a road and workers sheds. Khoa Yai area can be cool in the mornings in winter but we had no hot water in the shower. I thought the price included the breakfast but on arrival found out it did not and the breakfast would cost 300 bht each. I thought place looked a little rundown particularly the gardens and surroundings. Expected more for the price.

Run down place - what a pity”
This hotel is location in nice surroundings close to the national park. The name and desired correlation to music and art is very misleading as the hotel itself, apart from playing some classical tunes and a roof and pool floor being painted in colours of a piano keyboard, offers nothing cultural or anything else related to music. Great branding but that's where the greatness ended. Unfortunately the hotel owner seems to pocket all the money and hasn't invested much into the upkeep of the property. Having travelled extensively in different quality hotels in Thailand this property is below par and they should be listed as a max 2* resort costing around THB 1000. I only read other comments of the hotel after my return as I was so disappointed, and see many guests before commented on similar issues such as no hot water, rust, extremely cheap amenities, torn towels, etc. This all comes from inferior maintenance work, so again I blame the hotel owner for not giving sufficient cash to the management to keep the property in a good condition. The staff at the hotel are reasonably friendly unfortunately needing to deal with disappointed customers and I guess many other having the same problems reoccurring. Often leading to making up really bad excuses where I as a guest feel fooled and not being taken seriously. On the positive, the pool is nice and 25m so as a group of Triathletes we had a good swim practise. Food at breakfast is ok if you are used to Thai standards. You'll have one choice of tea (black), one choice of coffee (black filter), vegetables, low quality ham and sausage, at the same time the fruit and vegetables were very good. Room itself was decently sized. All in all the property has some potential if owner invests some money to provide hot water and buys a few towels, gets rid of the rust and cleans the loungers at the pool.

Very average. A little dissapointing”
Overall I would say this hotel is below average, and a little dissapointing given the relatively high price. We stayed there on a holiday weekend, and actually was one of the few hotels or resorts availabe those days and reasonably close to the national park. Perhaps there is a reason this was the last one to fill up. The rooms were OK, basic and quite a long trek from the main part of the hotel and restaurant. Breakfast was pretty standard too. We had to wait until past 4:00 PM before we could check in, and I think only managed that because we kelp checking with the staff, who seemed to have abandoned us in the lobby. So overall this would not be my first choice next time, although I could not point to any fundamental defects.
