I like: 1. Free parking for hotel guests with many parking lots. 2. Quick check in and out 3. Very spacious and clean room 4. Sizable salt water swimming pool 5. Next to the beautiful Melaka River for easy stroll to Jonker Street about 1.5km away. 6. Large Food Court (LTP Riverwalk) with many stalls next to the hotel and another food lane about 0.5km away. . 7. Good breakfast (simple yet delicious Malaysian style) 8. Good view from high floor (we stayed on level 20). 9. Good bed and good shower. 10. Friendly staff
a good 4 star hotel! certain flaws, but overall a happy stay!”
on the surface, the place does look clean, but it's obvious that the staff doesn't particularly deep clean places. for example, for some reason, my toilet flush button was green and rusting. if you put down the toilet lid, you can see that the back of the toilet is not cleaned properly, building dust and whatnot. in the room as well, in corners, there is a pileup of dust that has not been cleaned in a while. the shower floor looks old and very lived in, showing a bit of rusting. other than that, at face value, everything does look presentable! so living is comfortable, if you don't look too closely. any surface that you will touch is definitely cleaned, it's js the corners and the shower floor. the rooms are the most spacious ones i've ever seen, there is so much area to lie around, and even a table to sit and eat? that is truly exceptional. good for midday rests, if you dont want to dirty your bed if youre a germaphobe, yet you don't want to change out of your outdoor clothes. other than the beautiful, spacious room provided, the hotel itself is very nice looking. the lobby is definitely beautiful, and so is the breakfast area, though i'd say the tables are arranged in a canteen like manner, and the selection of breakfast items is not that wide, it is definitely satisfactory. staff is polite, though they do not look very welcoming, and they took quite awhile during checkin. but, they were still polite and answered all questions i had! the carpark is a little run down, though. it does not match the niceness of the hotel, and the carpark lobby looks old, too. other than that, the location is amazing. if you come to the pines, do make sure to take the ferry from the pines! since it's located next to the river, the pines residents are really lucky to be able to be right next to a ferry stop!! do check that out if you're going there! overall, worth my money and the room was an absolute joy to return to at night, it being so spacious, the shower being relaxing, and the ambience being calming. ps, if you could, add more tv channels!!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! We stayed for 2 nights (staycation) and my child really enjoyed playing in the kid's swimming pool and playground. We also had free breakfast and we think it was lovely. There were enough choices of local and western food, such as nasi lemak daun telang, mee goreng, rice porridge, oatmeal porridge, noodle soup, bread, french toast with maple syrup, chocolate muffin, hash brown, sausage, red bean pau, scrambled eggs, salad and watermelon. They have Hainanese coffee and tea too, as well as other types of hot drinks (eg. teh tarik, chocolate, etc). However, there weren't much desserts during breakfast, and it would've been even better if they have. Location-wise, The Pines is also close to the Melaka river cruise. Plenty of eateries along the riverside for dinner. It's also only 30-mins away from Malacca Zoo, which is a great spot for kids. Overall, we're really happy with the quality of the room, facilities, and environment. We'd definitely consider staying here again should we come back to Malacca in the future.

the hotel sits just beside the malacca river. nice view facing the river, can even see the sea room was clean, bathroom clean. took the room with bathtub. in the evening took a walk from the hotel to kg morten accessible via a bridge behind the hotel. kg morten is where you have all the eateries. check in took awhile but checkout was fast. only thing id like to point out perhaps the front desk could be more cheerful when greeting hotel guest that will definitely make it even beyter

The pines - 1st time i stay at hotel with 10/10 hygiene . we stay fr 3d2n. we are not at our rooms daytime, rooms service come to clean and changed new towels bedsheets and cleaned rooms including kitchen and toilets. very comfortable, we will comeback for the next trip. and my suggestion, management can try to invest Laundry coins machines, because for us as a family with a kids always changing clothes and we don’t want to take back dirty clothes. i don’t think a family’s chooses a laundry service provided by hotels due to the charges by pieces. so for us i give 10/10 rates.
