“Edinburgh gem”
The only reason I didnt give it all 5 stars was no elevator but a young man working for the hotel whisked my bags upstairs while I was checking in. When checking out staff brought my bags down. The hotel is a beautiful old 4 story building with large suites. Mine had a view of the street and towards downtown. The staff were all amazing, very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was a choice of continental or a cooked breakfast. One morning I had eggs Benedict (delicious) and the next morning I had continental, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, toast and jam and croissants. A pleasant 10 min walk to the train station and another 10 min to the Royal Mile. Tram stop just down the street and bus stops close by. The main bus station is about a 3 min walk. One of the most beautiful places I've stayed and definitely the friendliest.

“Great place for visit to Edinburgh”
The trams stops almost in front of the hotel (coming from/to the aiport). Hotel staff is very friendly and accomodating. For UK, the pricing is very reasonable and the rooms comfortable. City center highlights are all within walking distance.

“Clean cozy room in good location”
We had a nice stay here. Staff was welcoming & helpful. Our room was down some stairs and a very long corridor- we were at a lower level and so there was only a skylight window. It was a bit of a walk back to the front desk /lounge area which wouldn't have been an issue but we tried calling the front desk from our room a few times and it didn't go through. Not the end of the world but worth mentioning in case someone has mobility issues and wants to request a room closer to the lobby. The room was quite small. We only had 2 carry on suitcases and had to be clever about arranging them so we could move around the room. Room was clean and cozy, with an ensuite bathroom. It was a quick, easy walk to the main downtown area. and we both felt very safe walking around this area at night. All in all, a good place to stay in great location if you dont need a ton of space.

“Good location but overrated ”
Hotel is centrally located. Room was clean and building is quite nice. Bed was uncomfortable and mattress seemed pretty worn out. View out the window was a wall covered in fake foliage. I’m not sure about other reviews raving about the price point, because this was the most expensive hotel we stayed in during our trip and wasn’t the best by a long-shot. I’m not sure how a hotel can be rated 4-stars while offering lumpy mattresses and spotty wifi.

“Excellent”
Stayed in superior twin room, nice and spacious, clean, no noise heard. Staff friendly and helpful. A lift in hotel would have been a plus and a wee fridge in room, otherwise would recommend.
