Great hotel in a great location”
We only stayed at the The Plantation Urban Resort and Spa because we got such a great deal on Agoda and what a deal it was. The room was exquisite, really quirky yet functional and comfortable, which was great. The pool area is not the biggest but nice and offers a little bit of a garden paradise in the heart of thriving Phnom Penh. The breakfast was great - so many options, I'm sure we put on weight while staying at The Plantation Urban Resort and Spa as we ate so much every morning (delicious). This hotel is excellently located for all of Phnom Penh's attractions and if you want restaurants and bars within walking distance for the night time then this is the place for you. We'd go back to the The Plantation Urban Resort and Spa no worries.
Unexpected oasis in the heart of a city”
The plantation urban resort and spa is located directly behind the Royal Palace and could not be more centrally located to visit Phnom Penh- it is about a 5 minute walk to the river front and very close to the central tourist strip along the riverside. Tucked away in a small street, this hotel is unexpected luxury in the middle of the city- The entrance is a quiet, unintrusive and small- it opens up into a courtyard of a fish/lotus pond- the lobby, a small cozy area- we assumed it would be a very small boutique hotel, but once you walk into the blue pool area (there are two pools, red and blue), you realise the property is much bigger than you'd anticipate. The rooms are modern minimalistic and very comfortable- our rooms faced inwards to the pool area, with its own patio. The pool itself is amazing- cabanas flank either side of the pool, nestled amongst lovely greenery- a great place to unwind after a long day sightseeing in tuk-tuks. It's the kind of place you forget that you're in a city and almost feels like you're in a hotel by the beachside. We ate both at the poolside bar (also where you have breakfast) and the restaurant- the food and drink is reasonably priced and delicious. There is also a spa which provided lovely massages. Lovely stay in Phnom Penh thanks to Plantation
Massive Recommendation”
This is the third time I have stayed at The Plantation Urban Resort and Spa and I would unequivocally say that I would stay there again on every future visit to Cambodia. It is a little oasis squeezed into the bustling streets of Phnom Penh. The staff cannot do enough to please and everything is presented in an enchanting way. Little touches are everywhere and make anyone feel at home. Even on this occasion when there was some construction work being carried out everything was done to minimise the impact. Well done. I cannot sing the praises of The Plantation Urban Resort and Spa enough. Huge value for money and an excellent location. Thank you!
Satisfied”
I do enjoy luxury 5-stars, but why go for that when you get the same deal. I mean yeah, you do pay for the extra perks. But does the extra cost justify it? No. That's why I chose the Plantation Urban Resort and Spa. The staff were incredibly friendly and warm. They even had very reliable tuk tuk drivers to take you on day tours. My partner accidentally dropped his phone twice behind their ride, and I kid you not - the driver returned his new iPhone 7. On top of the service, the amenities fulfilled all our needs. The double room had a nice shower with hot water fully running (you'll want this even after 30 minutes out and about in scorching Phnom Penh). Please note that I only gave the place 4/5 for Facilities because we didn't really use it, we were happy staying in our room and venturing out during our stay.
Thank you for the review. We appreciated that you had stayed with us. We are delighted that you enjoyed the Hospitality service that we offer and the enjoyed the place as well. Looking forward to see you again on your next trip here in Phnom Penh. Tola Thoeun Room Division Manager
Third time's a charm”
This was our third time staying at The Planation, and yet again we loved our time there. We live in Phnom Penh and check into Plantation every now and then for a break from the noise, heat, and life in general. We are never disappointed. The staff are very friendly and remember you from previous visits. The service is professional and courteous. The hotel itself is positioned around its pool, around which we spend most of the day reading, eating, and having a drink. It's easy to doze off in the tranquility as it rarely seems busy. Overall, the atmosphere of Plantation is the biggest draw for us. The rooms are clean, fresh, and well appointed. We've had a number of different rooms during our stays and always been happy with very comfortable beds and pillows and good showers. The restaurants serve a range of Khmer and Western food, with good drinks selections. If you are visiting Phnom Penh, Plantation is well located and the staff will ensure and easy and carefree visit. If you're living here and want a break from it all, it's a terrific place to relax. We will be back before long.
The best resort in Phnom Penh”
This resort is our second home. We first stayed here for 10 days when we moved to Phnom Penh 3 years ago. Since then, we have come back at every opportunity for staycations and have recommended so many of our friends to stay here. The staff are awesome and always ready to help. The rooms are clean and beautifully designed. The swimming pool is one of our favorite in PP. It is so relaxing and surrounded by plants makes it beautiful. Adi the general manager is usually seen walking around and checking on the comfort of the guests. He is a wonderful person who know his job well. The food is delicious and the prices are not too bad. The breakfast buffet if plentiful and the waiters are excellent. In overall, my family loves the Plantationn Urban Resort, and we will always return here for staycations whenever we need to chill out not too far away from home.
Great Hotel in a great location”
We loved staying at the Plantation Urban Resort and Spa located behind the National Museum and National Palace. The rooms are new and clean, the breakfast buffet was excellent, as was the hotel restaurant. This is a great place to stay in Phnom Penh.
Great new hotel in down town Phnom Penh”
The entrance part is spectacular, the open spaces and the lush vegetation give it a urban jungle atmosphere not reached by any other place in Phnom Penh. Staff of course friendly and very helpful, not silly attitudes and cooperative for what ever we needed. We liked the 2 restaurants and the different atmosphere they have as well as the large swimming pool and the spa (massage). Overall a very very pleasant stay which we can recommend to others - from single traveler to families with children. The Hotel is well located with easy access to the sightseeing places in Phnom Penh (Palace, Museum, etc.)
A Little Slice of Bliss in the City”
The hotel I typically used in Phnom Penh was not available on my last visit and so I took a look at The Plantation, having heard good things from friends/family. So long as the pricing stays as competitive, I won't be using anywhere else in future. It was really hard to fault the place. Excellent, attentive staff. Great facilities. Choice of a few spots in which to eat, including by the beautiful pool area. The grounds were very quiet despite being right in the heart of the city. If I really had to pick faults, I'd say that a couple of items of furniture in the room were starting to look a little too well-used, but still a cut above other hotels in Phnom Penh. Will definitely be back.
Nice hotel - but too expensive ”
I've stayed here two times and had a great time. It's more like a resort than a hotel, and it's hard to understand that you are in a big city like PP, because when you're inside it's very quite and peaceful. The first time I stayed here the price was reasonable, but then they have doubled the price, maybe because it's have become a very popular hotel - resort. Now they have built so many new 4 star hotels in Phnom Penh which cost half price, so I don't think I'm gonna stay at The Plantation again. It's way too expensive for a hotel in Cambodia.

Relax from A to Z ”
The Plantation is a beautiful Hotel in the heard of Phnom Penh with big clean rooms and a lovely staff. The Pool is stunning and the breakfast buffet is delicious and very various. The Royal Palace as well as National Museum are right around the corner. The Spa is worth to go, very cheap but nevertheless high standard massages and 100% relax feeling. Lucky I found this quiet calm oase in busy Phnom Penh.
Relaxed, friendly, comfortable”
We loved staying at The Plantation Urban Resort and Spa. The staff were extremely friendly. When they saw how tall our two teenagers were, they upgraded us to rooms with twin queen beds so the girls didn't have to share a bed. The rooms were clean, quiet spacious and due to their design very cool on hot days/nights even without the use of air-con(which is available). The hotel is within walking distance of the Royal Palace or there are always tuk tuk's available out the front. It was the best hotel we stayed at during our Cambodian holiday.
Urban Oasis”
This was certainly a memorable stay, as this hotel can be considered an oasis in the dusty and hot Phnom Penh city centre. The room was spacious and well-stocked, with the canopy beds providing that extra touch towards the spa resort concept. The staff were very helpful in answering our requests. Beautiful swimming pool, with pavilions provided by the poolside where we could chill and relax. Being a spa resort, we definitely had to try the spa services provided. The staff that attended to us were very professional and skilled in their trade, making it a value for money experience (on top of the 30% discount for the 1st hour provided for hotel guests).
Lovely pool area, perfect for relaxing!”
I would stay again at The Plantation without hesitation! I loved the feel of the hotel immediately at the front gate, which itself is an impressive piece of timber work! The entrance area is fantastic, with a huge lotus pool and cool local contemporary art display in the gallery area around the pool. Check-in at reception was very welcoming and efficient. We were within our room, with our bags, within a few minutes! Our room was wonderful, (a poolside deluxe twin), with towering ceilings, very comfortable beds and the mosquito nets were a great touch! Another special touch were the lemongrass hand soaps in our bathroom, they smelt beautiful and left your hands moisturised and refreshed. Our room was on the ground floor which meant we had access straight out to the pool area, and this is where we spent a lot of our time! We were lucky on both days to get one of the cabana's right on the edge of the pool, all we needed to do was take a couple of steps down and into the cooling water of the pool. It was so calming and relaxing out by the pool, lots of little snoozes between swims. The Poolside Bar staff were great, always watching out for us when our drinks needed a refill and our lunch food from the kitchen, fresh and tasty. This is a great hotel, it's got about 70 rooms, but still manages a very boutique, intimate atmosphere! I will be definitely staying again on my return trip to Phnom Penh....
Fantastic, lovely vibration and building”
stayed 3 nights while on a 6 week south east asia trip. this actually was my favorite hotel. the rooms were great, the service great and the whole vibration of the place awesome. the building is like a renewed plantation in a great location in phnom penh, its quiet but you can walk anywhere. i loved the swimming pool, and i actually regret not staying at least one more night. also the pool snacks and breakfast was good. the room has an open shower and the sink in a way - which was somewhat romantic. all in all, a 5 star hotel for me plus we got the room at a good discount since it was low season. the room also had a spa, but the gym was not so good. (very small)
Oasis in an urban jungle”
We really enjoyed our stay at The Plantation. The hotel is a centrally located haven of tranquility and cleanliness in the hustle and bustle of the city of Phnom Penh. Special mention for the hotel's roof terraced restaurant: we loved the Beef Lok Lak and other dishes are sublime as well. Although we did explore and enjoy the eateries Phnom Penh offers, we simply love the hotel's chef! The Superior rooms are of adequate size, have a comfortable bed, a good airco and a ceiling fan. The bathroom is open plan. Good Wifi coverage throughout the hotel premises. The veranda with ceiling fans overlooking the small pond and artwork on display is a great place to relax and enjoy coffee and outstanding chocolate and other cakes on offer. The breakfast area and western dining is situated around the pool, which can be a less comfortable and tranquil experience with splashing, screening and running around of children. The available seating during breakfast time can be inadequate. The spa is value for money; meaning little money, little value. The bed matras on the floor is simply unprofessional. Don't compete with cheap, offer good quality and charge a little more. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and can recommend this hotel; the restaurant is a must!
A tropical paradise in the middle of the city!”
We stayed at the Plantation on the recommendation who lives in the city. We used to live in Phnom Penh, too, and so are very familiar with many of the boutique hotels here. Both my children and myself agree that this is the nicest one we have stayed in! The pool is absolutely serene. Unlike other boutique hotels in the city, the Plantation has two separate pools. One is limited for guest use only. This means that the pool is quiet and you can always find a lovely spot beside it. We also found that the beds, blankets and pillows were of particular high quality. You will get a wonderful sleep here! The hotel itself is made of two restored heritage buildings. It is just gorgeous. We will be staying here again!
Wonderful Oasis”
We found that the Plantation Urban Resort was in a great central location. The facilities are great and the rooms very modern. The restaurants serve excellent food - although they are a little pricey by Phenom Penh standards. No matter, plenty of cheap food close by if that is what you are after. The staff are very friendly. We will stay again hopefully!

Great Urban Oasis - but Terrible Internet”
Really enjoyed staying in this urban oasis gem in Phnom Penh. Great location and beautiful new modern hotel. Rooms were well laid out with nice large screen tv and a safe large enough to hold a laptop. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Only two complaints to an otherwise perfect stay: 1) Food menu at restaurant was somewhat limited. Could have had a bigger/more varied selection. 2) Internet setup was terrible. I continually was knocked off their routers, and pending which side of my hotel room I was in, I would need to connect to one of three different routers, rentering my password every time. A pain if you are traveling on business and need wifi connection on your phone or laptop. Much easier setups for hotel internet systems - they should heed the advice and revamp theirs! Otherwise, excellent hotel!
Above expectations!”
Phnom Penh can be a dangerous and dusty city but the plantation is like an oasis in the desert of Phnom Penh, we were impressed by the safety and facilities of the hotel and felt safe coming back each time. The staff were friendly and everything had a quality feel to it. On one night, we experienced a blackout but within minutes the hotel generator came on. We were the only building on the street with lights! The food at the restaurant was also delicious, we recommend trying the beef Lok lak!
