More than I expected”
My favorite thing about the hotel is the location. There is no lack of anything to eat, shop for, browse, and explore in the nearby Arab district. My favorite place was Haji Lane, which had fun boutique shops. My husband and I were only in Singapore for two nights and wanted affordable accommodations close to this area. We chose the Pod Boutique Capsule Hotel for the location, price, and because it looked very clean in the pictures. The hotel is true to all the pictures on their website. I can safely say that what you see is what you get. Everything in the hotel feels secure, as you need your key card to access every door. You really get a lot included with your stay, but of course this is at the expense of privacy you would have otherwise staying at a normal hotel. In my opinion, this is fine for a short stay. The toilets are all in individual rooms, the showers are also in individual rooms with toilet inside, and the pods are separated into room clusters so you don't have to be neighbors with the entire hotel guest list. During my stay, the hotel staff got everything within their responsibility right. The hotel was clean and nicely maintained, the staff were friendly and responsive, breakfast had a wide selection and was tasty, towels were changed daily, and wifi worked. The only thing I would warn about is to consider how you might react in close quarters with other people who do not have the same idea about what is considered rude or weird. It's not guaranteed to happen, but if your neighbors decide to enter and exit from the room every 30 seconds in the middle of the night, perhaps you would not appreciate that (earplugs are available). I do get the sense that the hotel staff would like to be informed about any discomfort you have with other guests and that they will be happy to accommodate you. I was perfectly happy with my two-night stay (especially because I am somewhat of a heavy sleeper) and would definitely stay again.
The Pod - my 1st capsule hotel experience. GREAT!!”
Love my stay @ The Pod. It's clean, comfortable and compact. Water, towel, shower gel, shampoo and hair dryer are provided. I booked side entry female capsule, the space is just nice, with locker below for luggage n personal belongings. The hotel staff, is also very helpful and friendly. You can also easily find food nearby the hotel. Just infront the hotel is bus stop and its only 5-10 minutes walking distance to Bugis MRT Station. Breakfast is also included, like the OTAK2x, croissants and cakes. Coffee machine, tea and cereals are also provided. If u're looking for budgeted yet chic hotel, I definetely recommend The Pod Capsule Boutique Hotel Bugis. Looking forward for more branches in singapore and also promotions.
Excellent stay and great value for money!”
I had a wonderful stay at The Pod boutique capsule hotel, also it was my first visit to Singapore. The place has exceeded my expectations! Very clean and comfy pods, the linens, pillow, bed and toilets were in a great condition! Although the bathrooms were mixed (men-women use the same bathrooms) but they were really spotless. great facilities, complementary laundry and dry cleaning service (Superb) and free fast WiFi. I stayed for 5 nights & wish I stayed longer. I will definitely come back and stay here the next time I visit Singapore. I'd also like to thank all the staff at the Pod, special thanks to Mr. Razali Bin Aziz for being so helpful & friendly.
POD comfy capsules”
When the POD is Singapore's latest boutique capsule hotel rated as 2 star, I cannot agree! I think it is underrated! why is that you asked? Because you cannot compare a capsule hotel and rate it together with regular hotel! For a capsule hotel, POD is of course cannot be rated as 2 stars, The capsules inspired by modern and minimalist living, really guys, it is convenience at your fingertips without compromising on comfort, quality or style! Staff are friendly and helpful, there are over flow supplies of beverage, cutting your coffee and/or tea budget to zero! Breakfast is buffet and you can get your own business center going! Location is great too! Highly recommended for a capsule stay!
Professionally managed, and great location!”
I stayed here for three days, with my Mom and husband. I had requested a lower level pod for my Mom because she's elderly, it was such a pleasant surprise that the hotel gave all three of us lower level pods, which made it very convenient for us. The bathroom and toilets are always very clean, with a modern design, and the warm/cold shower is really great especially after walking around in super warm and sweaty Singapore. The air-condition in the rooms makes the air really pleasant even if we are sharing the room with 11 other people. The location is top notch, near the Bugis markets (10 minutes walk) and two MRT stations. If I have to give an advice, it is for the staff to really ask the visitors to be quiet. Two girls occupying the pods next to mine kept on talking until late, and also arranging all their plastic shopping bags until 3 in the morning! People should be made understand that the room is not their private room and other people do not have to listen to all their giggling and stories. They should just put everything in the cupboard under the beds, or arrange bags in the changing room (some people don't know this room exist, the staff should tell them). But I will still recommend the Pod hotel for people who visit Singapore!
Just as good as the first time. Will stay again and again”
The Pod was one of the first few capsule hotels in Singapore back then. Since then it seems like a thousand more have popped up but revisiting the Pod has me convinced this is the one I would put my money on. Just as comfortable as the first time, with a very clean feeling which I appreciate. For one of the nights I even had to stay in a mixed room (male and female) because I had to unexpectedly extend my stay and the female only rooms were fully booked. But my stay was just as great as always as the pod always feels more private than other establishments due to the way they layout their room and pods. A few things have changed since my last visit, like now there is no all day free hot drinks. And usually the Pod will not accommodate early check ins so you do need to wait until 3pm more likely than not. I've stayed here maybe 3 separate trips where I've requested early check ins and they have not yet accommodated it before. Policy is policy and perhaps not possible to accommodate
Pleasant stay in very good location”
After staying at two different capsule hotels, I moved to this one. The reception and the common areas felt like a 2/3* hotel. Very modern, stylish interior. I liked the different seating areas. They even have a meeting/co-working space. They give you a free bottle of water when checking in and offer free water to refill. I checked in around 12:30 and got my pod right away which was great. At a lot of other places I had to wait until the official check in time, even though the room was already available. The room itself (female dorm) looked a bit run down. I had a pod very close to the door and the door was heavy and everytime someone entered or left the room, it was pretty noisy. You could also hear the noise from busy Beach road most of the night. The bathroom facilities were great!! Very clean at all times. Lots of mirrors. They even offered Q tips. breakfast didn’t quite meet my expectations. Only from 7.30-9.30. When I came at 9, they did not refill it. No fresh fruit.
Dear Verena, We are glad that you have enjoyed your stay with us and look forward to welcoming you back soon! Thank you. :)
Best of the range”
Location: Not very near to MRT station as compared to other hotels in the area, but still within 10-15 minute of walking distance. The bus stop directly in front of the hotel is served by buses on out-bound routes. If you are heading to other parts of the Downtown, you have to walk to the opposite for in-bound buses. Surroundings- There is a 7-Eleven convenience store nearby. The areas around the hotels have lots of pubs, beerhouses and restaurants. Staff- Staff was very friendly. They will guide every guest through every single facilities available in the hotel. Bed- The pod is very wide to fit in a person and a backpack. A foldable table is included for things such as a laptop, and there is a reading light for added convenience. There is also a privacy screen at the entrance of the pod. However, when the room lights are dimmed at night, anyone from outside the bunk can see through the privacy screen if the reading light is switched on. Toilet- The toilets and bathrooms are unisex, and as there were only 3 bathrooms at my floor, there could be some queue at 'peak' hours. Food- The hotel provides buffet breakfast to all guests. Items available are limited (as compared to conventional hotels) but more than what was expected for hotels of the range. During my stay, whenever an item was finished, the hotel staff will replenish with new food items. Food items generally include bakery, pastry, Singaporean/Malaysian local delicacies, Chinese delicacies and sometimes some Western delicacies. Entertainment- The hotel has three enclosed private pods near the reception that come with a laptop and a telephone. The telephone can be used to make free local calls. SUMMARY- Overall I feel that the hotel is the best of its range, providing facilities that can outmatch a 3- or 4-star hotel at 2-star prices. The hotel was clean, comfortable, the staff very friendly and the hotel has facilities that greatly exceeded other hotels of its price range.
four thumbs up”
the location was very great it was in front of a bus stop, 5 minute walk to the bugis mrt station, walking distance to geylang, kamponglam, haji lane, little india, bugis street and suntec city. the pod was great, budget friendly with very accommodating staff all my concerns were greatly addressed all with a smile and positive outlook breakfast was okay considering you just payed for a capsule hotel rooms were okay although you really have to be mindful of your voice and movements because it is a shared room facilities are good too!!! will definitely comeback soon and would highly recommend to my friends and followers
Great first impression of a boutique capsule hotel”
This was my first stay at The Pod and my second capsule hotel experience. I was rather excited at the idea of an upscale boutique capsule hotel version. The Pod is doing a good job in executing this idea. I had booked a side entry pod and when I first saw it, I was surprised by the generous size of it (it felt even more spacious, once I was sitting inside) and to find a real mattress, two firm pillows and a duvet cover. The sheets were clean and crisp and there was even a fluffy white bath towel, not something I had expected based on my previous experience at a very economy type capsule hotel. I loved especially the hidden light feature inside the pod which is really the best sort of lighting as it just brightens up the whole space with a warm glow. The shower rooms were actually more like ensuites as they came with a wash basin and toilet as well and they were spacious and brightly lit as well. But unless they were meticulously clean, it was quite easy to spot any left strands of hair etc. The toilets unfortunately didn't flush very well which led to a few unpleasant encounters. But I slept extremely well, the pod was really comfy and I would definitely return.
Bang for your bucks”
This is my first ever capsule hotel experience (or backpacker/hostel, whichever you prefer). I don't particularly like travelling and staying with strangers i do not know, but The Pod grabs my attention with their photos of stylish and minimalist interior, and cheaper than hotel price. The Pod is a unique accomodation as it perfectly blend a hotel and a backpacker hostel into one cozy and comfortable place. If you're travelling light in a group of 2 or 3, you cannot go wrong with The Pod.
My stay at the Pod is my first capsule hotel experience. It exceeded my expectation. I love the instagrammable look of the hotel. I booked a private suite for me and my mom. The bed was huge enough to fit 3 people. The room area was small, but it is expected. The bed was comfortable and clean. I liked the bathroom area as well. It was private enough with hot shower. Breakfast also consistent of either rice or noodle, egg, beans, and nuggets or harsh brown. There were also pastries, bread and jams, cereal, fruit and yogurt. Good enough to get you through the morning. The hotel is also very, very close to Haji Lane and Arab Street, and the Bugis MRT.
Great Location, Awesome Wi-Fi and Comfy Pods!”
1) The Pod is conveniently located near shopping areas and eating places and bars such as Bugis Village and Haji Lane, which was one of the main highlights of our stay! The charm of Haji Lane and the surrounding streets was a treat that we enjoyed immensely! One of the great things about The POD is the strong and free Wi-Fi available to all guests which helped us plan our itineraries and check our emails. Laptops were also provided to us for free allowing us. I dont know about you, but Wi-Fi is a huge plus point for me whenever i select accomodation. Other hotels somehow always either require guests to purchase internet time, OR, their Wi-Fi is only accessible in the lobby. No such problem here! Internet signals are accessible even in our own Pods! Our Pods were comfy and clean, with its own lighting, curtains and pull down table. Yes, I think I would stay here again the next time I transit in Singapore.
Ideal for budget travelers, good hotel”
The Pod Boutique Hotel is just a 10 to 15 minutes walk from Bugis MRT. It is near the night life area of the Beach Road area. The hotel is very secure, you cannot easily enter it because of secured doors. Actually, I waited for someone to come in before I could enter. I chose an all female room. I was assigned on top of the double bed, though it 's hard to get up and down, I did manage. There's a storage area below the bed. Security is great because you need your key cars to enter the room, as well as to open and close the storage area. Internet / Wi-Fi is great. Breakfast is okay because I really don't usually eat breakfast but pastries are delicious. The only downside is that dining area is so small and the comfort room is a common room (for both males and females). You just have to wait for your turn. Overall, if you are just traveling alone with tight budget, I highly recommend The Pod Boutique Hotel. It is also ideal for group travel. Thank you The Pod :) and thanks Agoda
First solo trip”
Being this as my first solo trip I wanted to try staying in a capsule dormitory. The location is a bit tricky I got lost trying to navigate my way as what is in the address of the hotel it os near in Bugis area... best mrt stop would be at nicholl highway to reach the beach road just cross the foot bridge and the hotel would be at your right. It's clean, affordable, free breakfast and there is free water. If you want to experience staying in a capsule hotel this would be a great place!
Excellent blend of capsule and boutique hotel”
Despite reading very favourable reviews, my relatively long stay outpassed expectations. The Pod is super-clean and well kept, the whole concept works out surprisingly well. I am not at all a backpacker/hostel person and initially chose the Pod out of curiosity and the extremely high hotel costs in Singapore at the time of my stay. In opposition to what I thought, I got enough privacy in the very comfortable pods. Room for luggage storage is very limited, but the front desk was happy to help out and find a good solution, as in general staff was extremely attentive, welcoming and ready to accomodate extra needs wherever they could. The whole place is very stylish and clean since everybody, also staff, takes off their shoes in the bedroom and shower segments. A great experience!
My go-to place in Singapore from now on”
From the moment I was welcomed and helped with the check-in procress, to the time I left four days later, I realized what a gem The Pod is. Ideally situated in the Kampong Glam precinct, just a stone's throw from the beautiful Sultan Mosque and nearby restaurants offering everything from Middle Eastern fare to Swedish delicacies. A ten mins walk gets you to the Bugis shopping center and the wonderful National Library of Singapore. A hop-on, hop-off bus stops right outside. My "pod" was cozy and comfortable. The female-only room was spacious, with plenty of floor area to store large suitcases without others being inconvenienced. And a "vanity" area with a full-length mirror and chair, ideal for putting on make up. The toilets and shower rooms were spotless and there was never a time when I had to wait to use either. The only disappointment was the breakfast, which I believe they're looking at improving. Fruit and less "carbs" would be great! Love this place!!
Even thou we encounter problem during check in, but the hotel staff and Agoda staff acted promptly to resolve it. Actually this is the first time we are staying in the capsule hotel and don't know what to expect from. But we enjoyed the stay there with clean room, towel were change daily, compliment breakfast and mineral water and with a friendly staff even ready to help us. Walking distance to eating places, 5-10min walk to Bugis MRT station, within 800meter radius you are able to catch difference buses route to difference location. We would definably going back to stay if we going to Singapore again.
Clean and comfort place to stay”
The pod is designed to provide privacy to the guest, each pod has small table, lamp and electrical outlet to charge your gadget and towel is provided. The room and bathroom is clean because slippers and shoes should be kept in a lockers. The breakfast is good. The location is about 10 minutes walk from Exit B Bugis MRT station. The only problem is need to queue for bathing since there're only 3 bathroom available. I will recommend the Pod Boutique Hostel for my friend, and would love to stay here again.
Good if you're on a budget and don't mind sharing space with others”
I booked a pod in a 5-pod room. I must say I was lucky to have very considerate roommates because no one made a sound in that room (no loud snoring). However I felt very uncomfortable moving around and organizing my things because I was extra cautious of the noise that I was making (yes, our room was THAT silent!). I ended up packing my stuff outside the room so as not to disturb my roommates. I stayed for one night only but as I went for a week-long business trip in KL, I had a suitcase of clothes and some souvenirs (in plastic!). And I made a mistake of not segregating only the stuff that I would need for the night. I also happen to check in while someone was sleeping, got back at 12.30am when everyone was sleeping, and woke up at 7.30am when everyone was still asleep :-) I guess I was not prepared for the fact that I'll be sharing with 4 strangers and I was too cautious not to disturb them. Apart from that, I can definitely say: 1. Location is good, around 10mins walk from Bugis MRT (if you take the Raffles Hospital exit) 2. Breakfast was ok, a few treats, noodles, fruit juice and coffee all you like. 3. Value for money - definitely, especially if you just go to you hotel to sleep, and if you don't mind sharing space with others (hopefully you won't have the issues that I had) 4. Cleanliness - no complaints here, the place actually smelled pretty good!
