It is conveniently located in the downtown . ”
It is neat and clean, the toilet is clean and there have water heater, there is a kitchen to cook food by yourself, and there is a `COLES`market on the opposite side. I often buy food and cook it. The kitchen is also very intimate to prepare a large refrigerator for the guests, let us store food, I just like the kitchen here. Great for backpackers
Great location in Sydney ”
The hostel is well placed in Sydney, you have public transportation at only 3 minutes and you can reach circularquay in 30 minutes by foot. The bed was really large and comfortable. It was a good stay.
It is similar to Japanese capsule hotel.”
The location of the hotel is very good and the staff is friendly. It is especially good that you can have a private space, although it is a hostel.
High standard hostel ”
It was the best hostel I‘ve ever had it‘s also one of the more expensive ones but definitely worth it if you want a little bit more privacy during your travel. The service is also really good they provide towels, shampoo and shower gel and you can hire a hair dryer for free. But the best are the „bunk beds“ which are actually like little rooms and really big and stable. The only negative thing is that the showers are closed for cleaning between 9 and 11 pm which is a quite busy time and it would maybe be better at a different time. It’s a really tidy hostel they clean the fridge everyday and throw your food away on your check out day (or if it’s not labeled) unfortunately I wanted to take my food out of the fridge when I grab my bag from the luggage room but they already threw it away that’s a bit too quick I think.
A convenient hostel at a strategic location.”
Pros - clean, quiet with a lot of privacy guaranteed as each bunk is separated by curtain. One of the best hostels I've ever stayed throughout my years of traveling. The staff are friendly, polite and very acomodating. This is not a typical rowdy, sociable and no privacy backpacker hostel and I love it. Cons - should've more shower rooms. During night time get a little packed when guests came back and every body wanted to take a shower.
Quiet, clean and superb location”
I needed a place to stay after a concert so I chose this place after reading guest reviews. The hostel is close to Museum & Townhall stations and there is a mall nearby. Area seems quite safe (I walked around midnight). The bed and toilets are clean. It's cool that there is a curtain for each pod (ensure some privacy).
This place is absolutely fantastic. Spotlessly clean; big private capsules; WiFi in the rooms that works (unlike the YHA hostels making you pay for it); great kitchen; plenty of showers; friendly staff; great location... I just can't fault it. Don't waste your time and money on the YHA hostels as this place is so much more comfortable and value for money.
Clean, quiet, comfortable ”
I like the convenient location of the hostel. The beds were comfortable and it was generally quiet. The kitchen is well equipped and clean. At night, you may be able to hear music from the bar at level 1, but it is very minimal.
Super quiet and clean ”
Awesome for 1 night stopover in Sydney. Got a much needed good nights sleep here after being in party hostels. It’s very quiet, very clean, the beds are AWESOME. There is no typical backpacker vibe here whatsoever, so if you’re looking to socialise in the hostel this isn’t a good place to do it. But everything else is perfect. Location is very good, but the actually entrance is a little hard to find.
Great stay in the Pod.”
it is clean. and well managed. small but comfortable , it is the same building with Kanghodong Korean.and bed was good.with certain.privacy.good. and so many restaurant. nearby. and world square, however, a little far from central station.and too many cleaning, so shower room and kitchen was not used all the time, it was inconvenient, however overall, i will restay here, when i have chance to visit Sydney again.
Great for the price”
One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in! It’s very clean, the beds are clean, comfy spacious and I like that they all had curtains for privacy. Very quiet actually felt like it was too quiet so I felt bad open my bag sometimes. Located in the center, near China town, Darling Harbour, very accessible. Clean toilets and kitchen area, overall great experience.
Cozy and clean at the perfect location!”
Perfect for solo travelers on a budget who want to enjoy some peace and quiet. Kitchen is readily equipped if you do want to cook. The space was really spacious and bed was really comfortable. Toilets are washed at 10pm which can be a little inconvenient. Coles and attractions such as Chinatown and Darling Harbour just within walking distance! Would definitely return!!!
Clean and Quiet”
Overall, I enjoyed my stay here. I started my trip at this hostel, then I travelled to other areas in Australia, and then I spent my last night here. I didn't have the female receptionist that was late during my first stay, and that made me happy. There was a gentleman there who was very helpful and kind. Again, the bathrooms are probably the cleanest I have seen in a hostel. The rooms are also super quiet (for the most part). There were some travellers who got up early and were zippering their bags, but then there were some considerate ones who went out to the common area when it was early. Very good place.
It was my first time to stay in a 6 bedded room and i would say that its a great experience here in The Pod. The location is excellent since it is near to a lot of places that you wanna visit. It will be great if they have also breakfast.
Very clean. good privacy inside the curtain of your bed. have a large locker. have kitchen and hot drinking water. Free coffee and tea. can borrow hair dryer. have laundry but no hanging space - you can only use the dryer. reception open from 9am to 11pm - However, they will be late and close early... 25 mins walk to Opera house and Sydney bridge. 15 mins walk to shopping mall
Good option for stay in Sydney”
The location is very convinient. Cleaness is perfect. The staff is very helpful. On Saturday night may hear some noise from outside as the pub is neayby. Overall this is perfect for stay if you would like to save budget on Sydney trip.
Easily accessible via train to and fro airport. The bed is actually quite big. Good staff and clean
Great place for solo travellers”
Clean facilities. Staff are friendly and helpful. Other guests are friendly and polite. Bedding was comfortable. Shared fridge and cooking facilities provided. Guests were very considerate using the shared spaces to ensure the place was kept clean. It does take some effort to get used to sleeping in a pod if you're used to hotel rooms, but once you settle in it does work well. One recommendation would be to have a recycling bins - as there was a lot of perfectly recyclable containers/plastic being put in the rubbish due to no alternative option.
The room, bathrooms, and common areas were all clean. The curtains on the bunks were nice because they provided a bit more privacy than in the average dorm. Each shower had its own changing area with a small bench/shelf and hook. The laundry was very convenient and not too expensive. The only problem was on my last night the hot water was not working and there was a sign that they were working on fixing it, but I heard the maintenance man telling another guest that it was not going to be fixed for a couple of days.
I'm a frequent traveler who traveled a lot on hostel therefore I would like to say there are pros and cons for The Pod Sydney despite my individual incident on having bed bugs (on the blanket). pros Strategic location, easy accessible to restaurants, supermarket, transports. Satisfactory hot bath available, awesome living room space with a great common area and kitchen & also comfortable mattress. cons Staffs should be more friendly and well trained as this is the multi-national community service. The timing to clean bath rooms and common area is really OFF (10pm is the most common time that people would like to clean up and get some rest), you can either do it after 10am or 7pm whereby everyone is having dinner outside (suggestion), lastly is the AIR CONDITIONING TEMPERATURE is absurd as it is very warm in the room even after a few of us complaining, a great hostel/hotel should allow guest to feel like home when they get back at it. An improvement is much needed and GL.
