Fancy living for a couple of backpackers...”
Preface: My girlfriend and I got a KILLER deal on a room here…I believe due to low season? If we had to pay full price, maybe my review would be different because we felt we got amazing value. The Point is an executive-style hotel in Kangaroo Point. Rooms are very stylish, spacious, and comfortable with a nice view of the city. The staff were all extremely helpful and professional. We had one hiccup upon check-in…the air conditioning was not working properly. We had to relocate to another room but staff assisted with our bags and it was no problem. If you are interested in nicer hotels and you find a good deal on one of the rooms at The Point, you should take it. We had a very nice 2 night stay. One criticism only: we decided to splurge for the expensive brunch before checking out. It was definitely not worth the price. There was nothing special about the choices that would warrant the cost. It was just a standard breakfast fare that was overpriced. I have had better breakfasts in Cambodia that were free...
What a fantastic Hotel”
From the smile that greeted us at reception to the farewell when we left, our stay at The Point Brisbane Hotel was exceptional. Located by Kangaroo Point, the hotel was a short walk to the ferry pier and all on display along the river. Access via road is easy and the underground parking is free and secure. The hotel has a lovely compact pool and a small but well equipped gym. The underground parking is free and secure. Breakfast is outstanding. There is an extensive range of granola, Bircher muesli, fruit cups, juices, artisan breads and cakes. There is a selection of cold meats, cheeses and smoked salmon. There is also a hot buffet with two types of bacon, scrambled eggs, tomatoes, two types of sausage, mushrooms, beans and fried rice. Chef is more than happy to prepare other forms of eggs or in fact almost anything. The staff were attentive and cheerful throughout and the cleanliness of the whole place was exemplary. We were very impressed holidaymakers. Thank you.
I don't normally leave reviews like this, but this is an exception. The Point is one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. From the very moment I walked through the big glass doors into the foyer, and welcomed with a huge smile and "Good morning, Sir!", I knew this was going to be a wonderful experience. I was given my electronic key card to access my room, which came with a king bed (as requested), decent sized bathroom (including a bath), and a great view (which wasn't even facing the city/river). It was perfectly clean, modern, quiet and comfortable. The first night of my stay, I felt the pillow was a bit thick for my liking, the second day I discovered a "pillow menu" next to my bed, so I dialled the number to room service and was given a nicer down pillow free of charge. Additional to this, every evening, the housekeeping ladies would come to my room and surprise me with Lindt chocolate balls. I have never experienced service like this in other 5* hotels. The location was fantastic. It's located in a quiet street on Kangaroo Point - only a 4 minute walk from the free 'City Hopper' boat that comes every half an hour stopping at about 6-7 stops between Dockside and the city/southbank. I couldn't find one fault with anything about my experience with The Point Hotel. I can't speak highly enough of the service and efforts made my the staff to make my experience as enjoyable as possible.
Most convenient hotel in Brisbane”
The hotel is exceptionally well-situated in Kangaroo Point, a short walk from ferry stops connecting to downtown Brisbane (and further afield). A very pleasant way to arrive in the heart of the city without traffic, taxi, or hassles of any kind. An added bonus is the riverside running/bike riding path that runs through to South Bank and beyond. There are good nearby restaurants and pubs. It doesn't get any better than this. The room I had was comfortable and had everything I needed for my stay of 5 nights. It was better-priced than other comparable places in the vicinity (at least on the occasion of my visit at short notice). The breakfast at this hotel is the best I have experienced. It has a wide range of healthy choices (I mean real tropical fruits, cheeses and home-made yoghurt, real fruit juices, real bread, good coffee> I could go on. My only negative comment is that the complimentary bottle of drinking water is not replaced unless specifically requested each day.
Suburban stay near the City”
I decided to stay a night at this hotel after I arrived back after my long flight as I couldn't be bothered to drive all the way to the Gold Coast. This hotel is located at Kangaroo point which has a Suburban feel, with a short ferry ride to the city which is free. There is also some bars, restaurants and cafes which are walking distance from hotel and good views of Story bridge and city skyline. This 5 star hotel is pretty good value for money where it has free Car park for guests and have a choice of dry cleaning or do it yourself laundry for free, not many 5 star hotels in Brisbane have free car parking for guests. The food and the breakfast at the restaurant was nice and you can order snacks while you're at the pool. The staff were friendly and helpful and it has a small business feel more than a big hotel chain. I will stay at this hotel every time I arrive back at Brisbane.
Brisbanes No1 Hotel ”
As a regular traveler to Brisbane staying at most to the known hotel chains I opted for a change. With my travel to Brisbane and regular car hire and to have meetings and catch up with family I find many benefits with The Point Brisbane. 1, location to the city and major arterials however does not have the traffic noise. Car parking is free unlike major Brisbane CBD hotels. Its location and access through over the story bridge into the city of night life and spicy chicken in Elisabeth street city. Through to late occasional sleep in's on sunday and waking to an amazing array of food selections for breakfast. Well done The Point Brisbane yes love my food love it fresh and presented well. I appreciate that staff and all they do with scanning of document's for me to assisting me with guest and meetings. Its come to a point where I could also list all the staff here by name but I will finish by saying well done Aaron Roberts to you and all the staff from front office to house keeping!
Excellent - same as usual!”
Spent the weekend in Brisbane attending a conference at the Hilton. Have stayed a couple of times previously at The Point and have been impressed each time. Bang for buck + free parking + proximity to the city via ferry made it a no-brainer to choose The Point over The Hilton (or anywhere else in the city). Plus Kangaroo Point is a nice little area these days which made Saturday night a pleasant stay. Asked if I could leave my car in the car park all day Saturday and Sunday (regardless of check in and check out times). No problem. Staff always courteous and professional. Rooms very clean and well-appointed. A really delightful place to stay.
My favourite hotel in Brisbane.”
I couldn't rate this hotel any higher. This was my 4th stay at the Point in Brisbane and I stayed there for 2 nights. As in my previous reviews, complimentary parking, feels more homely, nice fine dining restaurant, very professional staff, close to city yet in the suburb of Kangaroo Point, etc. Will always stay at this place. I don't think I'll stay anywhere else in Brisbane.
Very pleasant stay in Kangaroo Point - winter 2016”
What a great location. This hotel was convenient for us as we picked up our car at Brisbane Airport and travelled via the Clem 7 very swiftly to the correct exit and into Kangaroo Point. The hotel was easy to find and the free parking is real bonus. We loved that we could walk to the ferry at Dockside, or continue walking around the picturesque point to Thornton Street. We found there are lovely cafes nearby to have breakfast or dinner. And of course the Storey Bridge hotel is also within walking distance. We did not eat in the hotel this time - we wanted to sample some of the restaurants and cafes nearby. The room was very comfortable. The bed especially so. Everything was clean, and the staff were very helpful when we needed them. We stayed in winter and it was quite chilly in Brisbane this trip. Gloves, coat and scarf were needed at night. Highly recommend the The Point Hotel.
The best thing about this hotel is the lovely walk you can do along Kangaroo Point following the river bank, which is nearby. Also close to the famous Story Bridge Hotel, which is a Brisbane institution. Great views of the city from my room. Just watch for cyclists as you leave the hotel driveway as they tear past the entrance.
I stayed at The Point Brisbane hotel recently whilst attending a conference. The facilities i.e. the gym and swimming pool were outstanding. The location was superb and the hotel was located very close to the dockside pier for catching the local ferry into the city. The daily breakfast was superb.. All of the staff I encounted (household, restaurant and reception). were most helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Brisbane and I will stay here next time I visit the city.
Excellent time Point Hotel”
From the moment at reception our experience was friendly and made we were special guests. It was my birthday day the following day, I didn’t say anything when booking in, but they must of noticed on my drivers license the date. We were in our room a short time, when they lady from reception was at our door with a balloon, ice bucket with champagne, two glasses and chocolates. I was over the moon with this special attention. Thank you Then we needed to Kangaroo Point Cliffs, they have a courtesy which took us to the nearest point, amazing service. Loved loved our stay.
Near but not too near”
Our stay in the The Point Brisbane was pretty good. The check in were quick, though we did not get the high floor nor a good view room as requested but we got upgraded to a junior suite instead. So that compensate for our disappointment. The free wifi is reasonable. The room was thoroughly cleaned each day. The turn down service for the night was a surprise as we don't remembered it was available in the hotels in the CBD area. Access to the Queen Street Mall was just a free CityHopper ride away but the wait could be half an hour if you just missed the boat. And if you are carrying too many shopping bags.. then location of the hotel became an issue as you have to walk back to the hotel from the quay. If there are more cable tv choices, I would rate the hotel higher. If you are looking for a hotel that is quiet and peaceful and with free wifi, close to Queen Street Mall and CBD, then The Point Brisbane is an excellent choice.
Second Home Atmosphere”
I've used The Point Hotel many times and feel at home every time I visit. The staff are always helpful, the rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. Being able to wash my own clothes whenever I like is a big plus for me. The location is perfect as my business is never in the city, rather around the suburbs, so access to appointments is so easy from Kangaroo Point.
My favorite hotel ”
The Point is my go-to hotel everytime I travel to Brisbane. Upgraded to deluxe during this stay. No bad reviews for this hotel. Everything is done well, parking is free, customer service is excellent, breakfast is good and rooms are clean. One small thing to improve is maybe to provide toothbrush/toothpaste. Very satisfied with our stay. Will definitely come back again!
Fantastic welcoming hotel”
From the moment we arrived we were welcomed with a can do attitude and nothing was too much trouble for the staff to make our weekend away wonderful. Situated on Kangaroo Point we took the quaint free ferry across to the eagle street pier. The ferry pick up Point was nearby. Lovely walks along the river edge. A bit quieter than the other side of the river - beautiful. Lovely balcony for fresh air the room was perfect.
Location great loved getting ferry which was short walk away .. ”
Hotel was very clean and modern staff were very polite and helpful Buffet breakfast was standard Loved kangaroo point location and was short stroll to free ferry Room service was great and was room cleaning and turn down service . Loved the chocolate in my pillow !! The only thing I would change would be to have room that faces water front as I was at back of building near freeway and a building site which was quite noisy .. feel bad saying this as staff can’t change this.. would stay here again but ask for room away from the car noise
Free parking, internet and breakfast at the heart of Brisbane. A beautiful view of the bridge”
The staff were very friendly. Breakfast is free and good. Free internet and parking is the best. Cleanliness is superb. Location is direct view of the famous bridge and parts of The Central Brisbane. About 3 mins to the free hop on cruise to business district and popular shopping areas in Brisbane.. nearby food restaurant Asian Spice is good and big portion but slightly salty and is very reasonably priced. About 6 mins drive to highway to Gold Coast. Near to Brisbane airport. This place is simply a hidden gem for family with baby like myself. The hotel charges is very reasonable. Highly recommended but this location is not near to all theme Parks. Needed about an hour and a half journey to reach surfer paradise Gold Coast. But we saved the parking, breakfast and internet. No complain at all.
Just great ”
The Point ticks all the boxes. Hard to fault at any level from the great location (5 min walk to the hop on ferry), great rooms and breakfast and of course attentive staff. Most importantly value for money, it's hard to top! The Point is now our preferred hotel when in Brisbane.
My favourite hotel in Brisbane”
This was my 3rd stay at the Point in Brisbane and the reason I keep coming back is because I always get made feel welcome, the staff are very friendly and professional, has a free secure car park, one of the best buffet breakfast, super comfortable bed and cocktails by the pool. Will always stay here while in Brisbane.
