Lovely new hotel in a quiet location”
We enjoyed our stay at the Point Villa. The staff was friendly and very helpful. There are large rooms and a big bathroom with separate shower. The beds are comfortable. The WIFI works very well in the room. The balcony has view on the garden. The breakfast is served in the garden and is good, they even refill your coffee. It is located within walking distance to the center of town. There are food stores and restaurants nearby. We will definitely stay here again if we come back to Mae Hong Son; we highly reccommend this resort.

NEW clean hotel & FABULOUS staff!”
We were so comfortable that we extended our stay by a day and will return early next year. The Point Villa is the perfect base from which to explore Mae Hong Son and environs and the staff is extremely helpful in directing guests to unique places of interest. Much to our surprise, the authentic local restaurants prepared a delicoius range of dishes and were of far better interior design than those in Pai! Above and beyond all of our expectations after our departure, the family staff air courier my forgotten book and specs to me without hesitation! Truly a wonderful place to stay!

Comfortable, pleasant, cosy”
We had a very pleasant stay at The Point Villa. The son of the owner was very helpful in advising us where to go and where not to go during this time of the year. We also loved the breakfast, especially the local treats (rice and corn wrapped in banana leaves). The rooms were all furnished very tastefully with dark wooden furniture and big comfy beds. One thing that did not bother us but might be perceived negatively was the fact that the hotel garden was not taken care of very neatly. We would most definitely recommend this hotel, we have a lovely memory of our stay in Mae Hong Song!

A very nice hotel and an excellent location”
the room was a nice surprise. i had been in several places during the trip and had been very disappointed so this was a nice surprise. the only bad thing was the complete absence of english speaking tv channels on the tv. the staff was very friendly and helpful. there was no telephone in the room but fortunately we were in the room closest to the reception desk, so it was easy to go to the desk to ask questions. the breakfast in the morning was very nice. the bed was comfortable. i would stay there again if i decide to visit mae hong son again. it was a good value for the price. there was limited warm water in the evening for a shower, but ample hot water in the morning.

Brilliant, amazing hotel”
I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, offering us lifts to the bus station and to the motorbike rental place. Our room was huge, spotlessly clean and very big. The breakfast included was nice and fresh - and all this at an absolute bargain price. The town of Mae Hong Son is just perfect - the nicest, most charming place we visited in our 2 week strip through Thailand's northern countryside.

Very new and modern ”
10 mins walk from town centre(lake), some good local Thai restaurant are around the hotel. The hotel is very clean and new with simple design,(still building) large bed and shower room, and great balcony. American breakfast is okay, but having outside table, a bit cold in Mae Hong Son. If you can contact with staff before arrive, they might pick you up on bus station.(you can walk from airport)

A very nice Hotel in lovely location. Mae Hong Son is a small quiet town with a small number of tourists. The hotel allowed easy access to the very nice Lake area where there are nice restaurants and bars. There is a lovely public park surrounding the lake for walking and jogging. We extended our stay from 1 night to 4 nights. The hotel is also close to the locals Thai market for nice fruit and other food, and lots of 7/11 shops for Farang

Another nice overnight stay”
Living in Khun Yuam in a house with no bath means a regular trip to Mae Hong Son in order to indulge in a nice soak. Having stayed here on a previous occasion we had no hesitation in booking another superior double. Upon arrival we were taken to a room with no bath! After difficult discussions with reception (through language problems) we were then taken to what transpired was a deluxe double, with bath. We didn't have to pay any extra but did point out that the website was showing a bath in the superior room. Apparently we had been unknowingly upgraded to a deluxe on our first visit as the hotel was full. So, if you want a bath you'll need to book the deluxe!

Best hotel in northern Thailand”
We loved this hotel so much we extended our stay in Mae Hong Son by two nights. For the low price you pay the rooms are huge, clean and modern and you get a lovely fresh breakfast included. The staff are just amazing, they were so kind and helpful throughout our stay.

Quiet & Nicely renovated room”
If you are coming from Pai, get the bus driver to drop u at police station. The hotel located at the lane next to it at cross junction. A fair distance walk to night market. A stall at main lane before hotel served great fried chicken. Try it. Very spacious room and toilet too. We just wonder why they use wooden frame for bathroom door since it get wet all the time?! Wifi coverage is average. Mae hong son bus station located out of the town, u need a transport to get into the town

The Point Villa Hotel is one street from the main street and everything is well in reach in a few minutes walk. Don't want to walk? The hotel bicycles are for free! And because it's a street away from the centre it is just wonderfully quiet. Enjoy the sound of crickets and birds, not motorbikes and cars. Really a perfect location. We stayed on the first floor. And as some other reviewers already warn; they put doors in the bathroom that go no where, which is a bit of an issue on the first floor. So if you're into sleepwalking or have little kids; close these doors before you go to bed. Yes, no worries: there are locks on these doors... What else? - The bathroom is so big you can dance in it - Enormous amounts of hot water in the shower; let it run for 30 seconds - Great internet connectivity! - Very cool air con, lots of TV channels. The channel box accepts USB sticks to play your own movies on the TV. There is a button 'USB' on the remote. Check middle option, then wait for it to read your USB, richt , select movie, okay, red bottom. All is in Thai, but this should help. - Very pleasant staff. They can also do laundry - Did I mention the FREE bikes? - Wonderful espresso machine: 1 dollar per cappuccino. The slender lady smiling the most makes the best foam, just so you know. - And they pick you up from the airport if you ask in advance. Was free as well in our case. Great service. Well, that is it. If these aren't enough reasons to stay here, you're in the wrong town. ;-)

The hotel is in a very good location, in that it's a reasonable walk to the market yet the surroundings are relatively secluded and quiet. The rooms are very large and so is the bathroom. I had no problem with the cleanliness of either. The ants are not a problem so long as you don't leave anything out to attract them. Same as almost any place in Thailand. As others have said, the breakfast is not great, but if you order the day before, you can have rice soup which is generally better than the Thai interpretation of a western breakfast. The coffee is pretty good. Laundry is on site and inexpensive. I recommend the point villa at this price.

Peaceful and spacious hotel in a great location”
The Point Villa is suitable for couples or solo travelers; clean, spacious, comfortable, free wifi was great, as was the motorbike for rent. Owner was very helpful and picked me up/drove me to the bus station a couple times during my stay. Located in the city center, walking distance to everything in MHS. A little pricey for the town, but would recommend.
