Great stay at The Purple Hue! The couple who run the hotel are absolutely lovely. Both are from Hue and are happy to share recommendations beyond the usual that you receive upon checking in (that guide itself is a great start!) The hotel is in a great central location to spend a few days exploring the city. You can walk or bike to the citadel by day and enjoy the beer street in the evening without having to drive. Delicious breakfasts! Having homemade local dishes that changed daily was a very nice touch and a welcome break from the pancakes or instant noodles that are standard many places. Binh and Tinh also have a craft beer cafe (The Cham) on the first floor with a selection of Vietnamese beer, cider, gin and rum which was great to arrive to after a long day on a motorbike! I had originally booked four nights but wanted more time to explore the city but the prices had gone up quite a bit online. The staff were kind enough to extend my stay at the same price as I’d paid previously. The first room I had booked did not have a window which is fine for a short stay but I ended up staying for nine(!) nights. When I inquired about changing rooms I was moved to a higher floor with not just a window but a balcony when one became available. Very generous! Oh, as had been mentioned in other reviews, the beds and pillows are super comfy!! This is such a rarity traveling in Vietnam that it was extra luxurious! Binh and Tinh genuinely enjoy running the Purple Hue and it’s obvious in every interaction. They were always happy to help or just have a chat and in regards to hotel amenities if they can do something to make your stay better they will.

Good place for a short term stay”
In term of international hotel's star standard, this hotel is about 2* hotel. However, bed linen and pillow are very clean. Hotel daily rate is reasonable. Very good location where restaurants, cafes and shopping center are just in an walking distance. The owner of the hotel is friendly and supportive. Breakfast quite simple - a bow of Hue noodle sup and a cup of tea. A low room rate may not allow to provide a better breakfast. If you want a full breakfast with coffee, eggs, bread, butter, cheese, milk and juice, you may need to go to restaurant nearby. Anyway, this could be a good hotel if you don't need any fancy services.

Wonderful hotel with very helpful staff”
Very early check in was greatly appreciated after the sleeper train from Hanoi. The staff gave me a Google map with useful details. Such a comfortable room/bed. I thought the location was very handy & I enjoyed being near a primary school, which had children playing during the day & very quiet at night. I definitely recommend this hotel

We booked to stay at Purple Hue Central Hub. However, the day we were suppose to arrive we were told there had been an issue with the room. Purple Hue was helpful in sorting us out other rooms at their two other properties. This included a home stay and riverside property. Unfortunately we ended up having to move been accommodation for our two night stay which was quite inconvenient. Also the location of the other two hotels was not the location we had wanted to stay in, therefore a little disappointing for us. The other properties were both clean and the staff were really kind too.

This hotel is nice. Staffs are very friendly, they ready to help so that you can have a good trip. The room does not soundproof, we can hear people talk outside the room and sound from other room, the hotel does not have elevatorbut it is good with the price.

The hotel was very nicely located in the city centre with a lot of restaurant options available and the Imperial City in walkable distance. Quyên gave us amazing recommendations and even made a Google MyMaps for everything, what I found so convenient! She also helped us with all of our bookings and our following trip to Da Nang. I would really recommend staying here, the room was beautiful and clean and everything worked perfectly!

Helpful and welcoming environment ”
Upon checking in, I was given an extensive guide to Hue and the options to book different tours. I also arrived early in the morning off an overnight bus and the front desk helped to expedite the cleaning of my room so it was ready for me within an hour. Communication was easy through WhatsApp and I was regularly checked on. My room was very cheap but clean, spacious and homely. There is a bar downstairs - I didn't eat/drink there but it looked quite friendly. Could hear the music from my room but wasn't too much of a problem. I would recommend and stay again!

Friendly staff, clean room”
We amended our accommodation date on Agoda a few days before check-in, which was not captured in Purple Hue's system. But their staff honoured our reservation and gave us free upgrade to their other accommodation by riverside, which had a lovely view of the Perfume River. Room was reasonably clean with water heater, all necessary toiletries and daily housekeeping. We rented motorbike from them at a very reasonable cost. They are one of the rare few places that charges half-day price for motorbike rental. Plus-point for discount given in their craft beer store if you stay in Purple Hue. Overall, would recommend staying here for a cosy experience.

The hotel was great. The budget room was quite small but enough and suits the price. Everything was really clean as well as all the amenities. The staffs were really welcoming, friendly and helpful during our stay. However, the rooms are not even 1 bit soundproof, we could hear every single bit of small noise from the outside hall or the street.

Mr. Lee and his wife are very helpful and generous. They run a brewery in the ground floor which has pretty good options for drinking. They also provide laundry service and bike rental. She helped me with my guided bus booking for Hoi An as well.
