Great place to get away from the city”
Great views, clean & comfortable
On seeing the landscape here I was glad I'd finally found a place to relaxe! The room was comfortable and clean but nothing too flash. The Chinese restaurant was delicious but the waitress had to come back three times for my order as many things appeared not available from the menu. Breakfast buffet was poor quality but there was large range. Room service didn't turn up with a late night order. Staff here were keen but very few spoke English and that made travelling out from here very difficult. Checkout also dragged on much longer than needed. I think it's a great hotel, but not ready to cater for western tourism.

It was okay, wouldn't stay again”
Comfortable, situated in nice grounds
I stayed there as attended a conference in a nearby university, I chose it because it was fairly close, but found it was very isolated, no restaurants or shops within easy access, you had to order a taxi and wait for it to come, taxi fares to local shops was expensive. The hotel is clean and staff are okay, but they don't cater for western guests, everything closed by 9:30pm, no bar or food after that time, and no entertainment other than the TV in your room Rooms were clean and large, and did the job required.

not good”
None
Not very well. The internet is not working and the hotel is overvalued. The hotel location is inside of Nanjing well-known landscape site but its service is bad.

Peaceful hotel set in a quiet part of town”
The cool weather, the huge halls, the lots of walk before you reach one end of hotel to where you want to go.
It was a place destined to be quiet. We have room service which wasn't great. Nice place to jog huge garden backdrop.

Lovely hotel to get away from it all”
location is ideallic
Hotel was very beautiful. While it was far from the areas of interest, taxis are quite inexpensive. Breakfast was extensive and we enjoyed our stay.

wonderful escape”
The surrounding mountain and distance from the city and lights.
the hotel is perfect for someone wanting to get away and relax, really relax. it is not set up for convenient "come and go" outings, like a quick trip to a grocery store or nearby restaurant, because taxis are hard to come by so far from the city. however, it is a perfect spot to be away from it all. the trails, scenery, fresh air, bathtub, pool, sauna, restaurants and lounges, all of it is perfect for a nice weekend away.

A great escape from the city”
quiet, staff are friendly, good garden view
We were staying in the city for 3 nights but decided to try something different. The hotel is located in Purple Mountain area, park alike landscaped. You need your own car or a private arrangement as the hotel is not close to public transport, but other than that everything works perfectly.

Great Hidden Treasure. Good views to wake up to!”
Large rooms. Relatively new. Great Management. Superior Chinese Brand...if you are tired of the big wigs,,,,try local Chinese Hospitality at its best....
Very pleasently surprised to find this gem very well tucked away at the foothills of the purple mountain, and thus aptly named. Although limited English communication skills within the staff, but excellent focus on the customer. There were some ocassions where they did go wrong, but the entire management was so determind to not let a customer walk away dissatisfied. Great Management team of GMs, Supervisors and basic team members working hard to please the customers. You can sum up the customer focus, care, commitment and hospitality by the very fact that when they posted my left- behind DELL mouse back to my address, they followed it up many times to make sure we got it back. I am tired of the big MNCs in the hotels sector and to be honest, and would like to give the local players in China a Fair Go. They have some Excellent Hotels and Excellent hard working Managers and team members working overtime to ensure International guests like us make them their first choice....

Great location, serene and beautiful views ”
The room was a good size, the amenities great, the breakfast extensive, the staff very pleasant
The hotel is quite a distance from the downtown area of Nanjing - further than I expected but the location is beautiful. The restaurant food was interesting and enjoyable in terms of choice and flavour. The prices were reasonable. The swimming pool was not easily found.
