Amazing location, amazing resort!”
We stayed at The Racha for 3 nights in early May. We arrived at the office in Chalong and were treated very well with a cool drink, lovely service and smooth check in before being transferred to the island. The speed boat ride to the island was great and not too rough as we had heard it might have been. Once we arrived there were a few people to check in so we sat and admired the amazing view of the beach - just beautiful. We were given our ipod to be used during our stay. Our room was fantastic. Being honeymooners we had asked for one of the rooms a little out of the way and our room was even upgraded! There were love heart petals set out on the bed and the room was just perfect - an infinity pool, sunlounges, outdoor shower, indoor shower and a great view! The room was serviced twice a day and plenty of water was provided. We did the ATV tour around the island which was lots of fun - but perhaps required a little more skill than we expected!! But also a good chance to check out the rest of the island. The breakfasts were amazing with such a large selection that even included sushi! We ate at the BBQ restaurant which was our favourite and had a good selection of thai and western food. There were tourists using the beach. For us this was not a problem as we spent quite a bit of time in our room since we had our own pool but there were sun lounges etc just for guests of the Racha so I don't think it was such a big deal. Overall the resort is beautifully designed and so well maintained. The staff are friendly and the cocktail night on the deck was a great way to mingle with the staff - thanks Gerard - we can honestly say that you are the most dynamic hotel manager that we have had the pleasure of meeting! Beautiful sunsets, beautiful honeymoon - thanks so much! We look forward to our next stay at the Racha.
Beautiful Island, Fantastic Hotel~”
I had heard really great comments about The Racha from a few of my colleagues before I made the decision of spending a night out of my New Year vacation on the Racha Yai Island, and I was so glad that I did! The island is about 30 min away from the Phuket main island by speedboat, a little secluded island with really clear water. First off, the hotel itself is fantastic with beautiful grounds and well appointed villas. The beach, though attractive, is somewhat small. The infinity edge pool was my favorite! I could really spend all day there without feeling bored. The services were also nearly impeccable. The only cons I can think of: Food (both selection and taste) at those restaurants were sort of average, especially since the prices were so high… In addition, to people that enjoy nightlife and various other activities, there aren’t too many choices for you. All in all, I highly recommend The Racha for couples looking for romantic getaways. It won’t disappoint!
most relaxing holiday ever”
My wife and I stayed out at the Racha in September. We originally had booked three nights but due to a last minute bit of rescheduling we were able to obtain an extra night - the best decision we have ever made. What can we say that hasn't already been said about The Racha? While we were greatly surprised to get a room upgrade I am sure that any accommodation at the resort would of been equally as beautiful. Prior to going to The Racha I read many a review on this resort before making any booking. I was somewhat surprised by any sort of comment criticising the resorts 5 Star rating. What were these people looking for - gold plated door knobs? While I could write copious pages on the resort itself, the real indicator of any resorts performance is its staff. I can offer nothing but high praise for every single person that we had any sort of contact with while on the island. To Koy, Joy & Yui who greeted us most warmly every time we met and every other member of the Racha team, you should all be very proud of the quality service that you offer. While we have visted a number of Thailand's beautiful islands & resorts, if life is kind to us we hope to again come back to your beautiful resort and relive the most relaxing holiday experience we have ever had. You know when you're in paradise even before setting foot on paradise. That was the first thing that come into my mind when i on the boat ride to racha. My partner and i went to Racha in August 2011.Wet Weather season and choppy rough Sea. We had the Grand Deluxe Room and yes,it met all of my expectation. We had one of the best room location as the attentive management took note of my request( it was a surprise birthday gift for my partner). The room,to my expectation is immaculate. Long lost tranquillity is the word to describe the room. Set in White wall and beige tone tile floor, the sunlight basked the entire room generously giving us a sense of heartwarming hug by mother nature. It was the best feeling i ever had when it comes to hotel accomadation. Accent lighting cleverly emplaced to dramatise the story of the room and dark stain timber carpentry speaks the commitment of The Racha in delivery luxury in the midst of nature. The bath room is absolutely amazing. Glazed with clear glass in full view of the foliage outside, the toilet is my favorite place of all. Warm sunlight bask the interior, lighting up the toilet naturally, making you part of nature. We love the bathtub by the window. In fact we love bathtub more than the beach ( it was raining season). Sipping and chapagne and relaxing ourself in the bath tub, romancing till the sun set. It was truly , an experience that i will smile by the recollection of it. In general, i adore the racha but the upgrading works and extension work going on ,im just worried she might just lose her magic and flood the estate with tourist, deafening the tranquility she pride of.
Still utterly fabulous. ”
We first came here 4 years ago and loved it, and whilst we generally prefer to try new places, on this trip to Thailand we decided to return to the Racha. We stayed at 5 different hotels, of which the Racha was the cheapest. We even stayed at the top rated hotel on TA that cost 3 times as much. Yes, that hotel was cool, but we won't go back, whereas we will return to The Racha. People on TA seem to often complain about: The speedboat ride - I think it's a cool, fun, James Bond way to arrive that lets you know something special is starting. OK, it might be a little bumpy, but other than a Heli, there aren't many other ways to get to an island. The pier - yes, when the waves are choppy this can be interesting, but the staff will help you if need be. If you really do have trouble walking best check with the staff before you book as to whether they have a method to get you on and off the island. The wildlife - I think it's quite cute that there are big old lizards wandering around. They are more scared of you than you are of them though. Mosquitos - they are at every hotel near a beach. Use the repellent left in your wardrobe. The beach - yes, it is sad that there are loads of boats and holidaymakers, but it's the same at every beach you want to go to in Thailand. At least they go at 4 and you get a couple of lovely hours. One suggestion that one TA whiner had I think was good that the management would do well to pick up on was that of paying to upgrade all the tatty multicoloured plastic umbrellas that the beach vendors let with cream canvas and wood ones. It would make the hotel appear a lot classier, both from the outside looking in, and for guests enjoying the view out. If you really have issue with the busy beach, there are at least 3 others a 10-15 min walk away that will be deserted. The Staff - I don't get this. Every single member of staff seemed lovely. Smiley, happy, and helpful. I'm not sure what else people want from them?
Amazing Amazing Hotel - Perfect for Honeymoon”
racha hotel is an amazing beautiful place for honeymoon guests, and you can email their reception and they will confirm you about honeymoon settings and free fruit/wine package.the villa is very good with large room and tidy settings, and the most funning thing of racha is to diving and it's an excellent experience and you will see a lot of colorful fishes and beautiful under-sea sights. it's definitely derservable to stay in racha over night to discover its beautiful aspects and free enjoy diving, and i assume that racha is the best diving place of phuket and get the best sand/beach around. it's perfect and recommended for young couples, and i will choose racha without doubt if i return phuket next time.
Unforgettable stay at Racha Hotel”
We stayed at Racha for 3 nights, with 2 young kids, and loved the hotel.Rooms are clean and beautiful, with great ocean view and private pool. While reacing to racha yai island by speedboat,we had a bad seasickness ,kids were scared ,because weather was bad and it was raining ,to be honest I started regreting alteady, but once we reached island I forgot those feelings in first few seconds,it was worth, absolutely worth!Staff is super friendly and nice, attending to each our request with sincere smile.Customer service is excellent!Beach and sea are stunning, crystalclear water and nice waves, whitesands! The only thing is there were lizards in our room in our first night ,so we asked cleaners not to open doors and windows while cleaning,to avoid lizards in the room.Would definitely go back to Racha hotel.
Everything was perfect”
Everything was perfect about this stay - the Racha island was so beautiful, the hotel was located at the most beautiful beach on the island, the room was spacious, food was good, all the details were perfect, the service was very considerate. It was totally worth it -though not cheap at all. I would recommend everyone to come here once in a life time. The only problem was the traveling expense - it costed you more than 1600Bht per person for return trip by speedboat from Chalong Pier to Racha. And there were only 3 boats everyday. You also need to pay for the taxi fee to Chalong Pier from Phuket airport or other places.
Beautiful resort and great beach”
We stayed at Racha for 3 nights at the beachfront grand deluxe pool villa. It was the perfect location since we had easy access to the beach. Most of the time, we lounged on the sunbeds placed in our front terrace. And if we wanted some privacy, we moved to our pool in the back. The beach has beautiful white soft sand and clear waters. During the morning and early afternoons, the beach got busy with day trippers but most of them left by 2pm and the beach is quiet again for the rest of the evening. Service at the Racha was superb. We we arrived at Racha on their speedboat, the hotel staff were already waiting on the dock to receive us and handle our luggage. We were given 2 refreshing drinks and 2 wet towels while our host quickly checked us in. They really went our of their way if we had an issue. For instance, one night at 10pm, we didn't have hot water. We called and someone was immediately sent to our room and fixed the issue within 20 minutes. They fixed it and also respected our privacy. Food at the hotel was also great. Thai and non Thai food was good. We both thoroughly enjoyed the selections available. Breakfast was also nicely varied with western and asian choices. The smoothies and drink selections were amazing and so refreshing. This hotel is great for both families and honeymooners!
It is our second stay in this hotel. It is a beach front hotel in an island. Beach is one of the best in Phuket. Extraordinary white sand with beautiful blue turquoise water. The only problem is between noon to 3 pm is crowded by daily boattrips. But don't worry hotel has a stunning infinity pool and many attractions. In those times we spent our times mostly in pool area. But sometimes we take bike and snorkell equipment from sport's center to go other beaches in the island for snorkelling. Bike, snorkell equipment, kayaking is all free of charge :)) If you want you can go snorkelling with hotel by paying 1000 Bt. But it is not necessary. Island is very small and beaches are very close to each other. Hiking and ATV tours are especially recommended. You can take stunning pictures and see wonderfull view of the island. Let's talk about the rooms a little bit. We stayed in Deluxe and Grand Deluxe villas. They are almost the same, the only difference is Deluxe Villas are twin villas and Grand Deluxe Villa has bigger bathtub. Large room, large bathroom, outdoor rain shower, balcony, courtesy ipod, 120 dvd movies and music, furnishing, free wi-fi, everything is perfect. Restaurants on the resort are very nice you can find any kind of food for any budget. They have variety of wine list, try Racha House wine. It is good and cheap. Breakfasts are perfect, Cocktails are nice, and they offer variety of beers. We loved Victorian Beer, I think it is Australian. Try Gerardo's ice creams and smoothies too. The only thing they don't have is a night life. The hotel has a very nice bar, there is live music everyday but nobody comes! They have well trained and always smiling staff. In a nutshell, we had an excellent time. We will definitely go back soon.
Really lovely place, like paradise”
It was a very lovely experience in the Racha. 1st of all, the beach is unbeatable, crystal water, soft white sands, and the hotel placed very comfortable and stylish couches facing the sea. I was asked what kind of fragrance I preferred when check in, and once I got into our villa, I am dipped into the fragrance of jasmine, shampoo, hair conditioner, bath gel, lotion and aroma oil. A very polite lady led us to our villa, and demonstrated us every facility in the room by the way that we shouldn't be mean on tips. Consumables recharged anytime. While the garden pool is well designed and surrounded by frangipani, the roof-top pool is facing to the sea and ice spray, iced towel, and even popsicle is free. The island is in a very healthy ecological environment, we found two kind of lizards and a big one visited our terrace which surprised us, and we met crabs at night idling. We also took part in the lawn BBQ party which serve good seafood and wonderful Thai performance. Nothing can be complained in the Racha only if you could afford it and I really think it worth the money.
Worth the money, will definitely comeback ”
At first we felt like the compulsory transfer is quite expensive which makes us hesitate for a second about booking The Racha.. But then we are attached by its simple design with white as their theme colour, which makes the villa so relaxing and bright. The first impression comes from the staff in the lounge in Chalong Pier. They are just so welcoming and nice. And after we arrived the island, we found out that actually all of their staff are always smiling and being so helpful. They are attentive and successfully making us feel like home. We love the beach and like that they provide the complimentary snorkelling gear provided by the water sports centre. Even sitting there doing nothing would be still great and enjoyable. We are so glad that we can see the sunset on the beach as the view is spectacular! Shouldn't miss! The infinity pool is great for photo taking and looking over the beach and sea. We love the heartfelt welcome from the staff and we appreciate a lot about their service! Thanks to the staff there which makes our stay the best! After staying there you will realise it definitely worth the money and you will include this hotel in your next visit to Phuket.
The Racha is simply amazing! I cannot fault it. From the moment we were picked up we knew we were heading somewhere very special indeed! Our villa was amazing - fantastic room and beautiful bathroom (complete with outdoor shower)! The attention to detail was spot on - they have thought of everything! Our room had a BOSE system for iPod/iPhone and even if you didn't have an iPod that didn't matter as you could get one from reception! And if you didn't like the choice of music, no problem, as you could make your own playlists from the MAC available in the library! Everything about our stay was perfect and the staff were fantastic - they really make The Racha what it is. The food in all of their restaurants was beautiful and of the highest quality - highly recommend the taster menu for dinner at The Fire Grill - Michelin Star quality. We loved every minute of our stay and will definitely be returning. A big thank you to all the team at The Racha for making our stay an absolute delight! See you soon!
I first saw Racha on a day trip from Phuket and promised myself I would stay there and 4 months later I was there with my girlfriend. It,s a very long journey into BKK and then down to Phuket, the taxi and then a very bumpy boat ride. However, the taxi pick up service is good and the bumpy ride worth it. We had a Delux villa and it was fine - very clean with TV,DVD and IPOD. We spent some nights watching DVDs (there,s not much to do at night apart from eat, watch DVDs ) and we had complaints about the noise-so not sure how the good the walls are. The beach is ok-the sea was clean and refreshing and the Racha pools very good. We did some scuba and whilst Thailand is not world class the local dives are ok. The ambience is very relaxing and the staff very friendly. I felt the spa was over priced and a 300baht foot massage on the mainland was better value. The food was good but expensive and once you add the VAT plus service charge everything is 17.5% more expensive. Would i go back?-yes. Would I recommend it?-yes as long as you can stand the journey and are moderately wealthy. Great place to take a loved one
A delightful respite”
Nestled in the pristine Batok bay, The Racha became our hideaway for the next 5 days of our getaway. The compound is set against the natural incline of the terrain so an island retreat comes to mind. Our villa suite had a front row seat to the bay which offered amazing sunsets. It came with its our pool which we had used just once as we spent every single day snorkeling in the turquoise bay waters (though be forewarned, an East Asian tourist drowned in another end of the island the day we arrived so while the waters might seem calm, it pays to know your swimming abilities. Or at least have the common sense to wear a life jacket). One downside would be the boatloads of day trippers so if that gets to you, simply pop up to the main pool overlooking the bay to escape the horde. Personally, I love the main pool building as it offers day beds under the shade if getting a tan is not in your itinerary or you can simply plant yourself onto a deck chair to soak up the sun. The floor area isn't huge but the layout just gives it that sense of openness. Otherwise, The Racha is everything we wished for - the quiet retreat away from the bright lights of Patong.
I went there alone, but I don't feel lonely. I enjoyed two days of inner peace in the tranquil island. The tranquility isn't simply quietness, but the slow flow atmosphere, the tempo! There are so many resorts in Phuket, Jon of them is like The Racha! All facilities and supplies can be said as marvelous! Delicate package, artistic and original design, etc. I love this hotel so much! The staff are nothing to critic, helpful, efficient, and warm! Only thing that I am not satisfied is the food! Really, you can do much much better! If you go their, I strongly recommend you to pack somethings you like from Phuket with you, or you will feel wasting money for awful food.
best choice in racha”
Thanks to its good location in racha, The racha phuket resort get a lot of compliments from the beautiful scenery. also, the racha resort itself is a good hotel for the white style and the outdoor shower equipment. The fragrance can be provided to your own likings, which is so pleasant and enjoyable. swimming pool is quite beautiful. cons are the compulsory speedboat price is not so reasonable, and extra fee must be paid for a 3 year old kid, which is not applied to a five star hotel.
Staff the Icing on a wonderful cake”
we loved every moment of our visit to the racha. th island is beautiful, the hotel is lovely, the food at the hotel is affordable and of the highest standard. most of all, the staff at the racha were like a big family withihn days of us arriving. it makes such a huge difference to be greeted everywhere with a genuine smile and no problem was too difficult for them to solve. we would recommend the hotel to anyone with children or a couple seeking a nice romantic getaway.
The hotel is beautiful and its located on a beautiful bay on Racha Island. It is definitely a place to come as newly weds, unfortunately for us we came in the beginning of May so the beach had some waves which made swimming challenging and it rained every day. I believe that time of the year its the luck of the draw. The breakfast was amazing, the best we had in Thailand. There was a live band at dinner every night and they were very good and friendly. My wife and I loved our chats with them, after their set. The rooms are clean, large and comfortable. The staff were great and really made our stay most enjoyable.
Heaven on earth”
We arrived at the Racha after spending 6 weeks holidaying around Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. From the minute we arrived on Koh racha yai, we felt relaxed and rested. The setting and location of the resort is truly beautiful. Along with a naturally friendly staff and gorgeous small touches such as choosing scents for your villa and body lotions, this place seems too good to be true. 3 pools ensure a varied daily schedule with the added entertainment of underwater music! We enjoyed kayaking and a daily workout in the fantastic gym followed by steam room and sauna. Breakfast each morning was out of this world and set us up for each day.
