We stayed directly in front of lake wanaka and the view was amazing! There are ducks outside our room and it’s 7-10 mins walk to the famous wanaka tree. Room was clean and comfortable too. Will stay here again!

What a beautiful place to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas night! Our 3 bedroom suite overlooking the spectacular lake couldn't have been better. It was even a surprise to get a stocking delivered Christmas morning full of treats for our family and friends. We would highly recommend a stay at The Rees any time of the year!

I'm so happy”
There is a fair amount of accom to choose from in Queenstown. I chose The Rees because it had a shuttle (I didn't want the hassle of hiring a car) and the views and location looked good. From the second I walked in I was stunned at the absolute professional service of ALL staff. I had been booked into a spa room, with a partial lake view but considering I was traveling by myself I asked for a room with a view. Lauren took the time to take me through rooms available to me. I thought this was fantastic. Throughout my stay ALL of the front of house staff were extraordinarily attentive to my needs and wants. Eg coming from Australia I'm used to a 'long black' being made into a large mug. They didn't, but when I asked they went an got large mugs from the kitchen. I personally couldn't believe the attention to detail. I absolutely, categorically and without hesitation recommend this hotel.

Great hotel and staff”
We picked this hotel mainly for the balcony with views of the lake and mountains, and it was amazing. We had a king bed which was really comfortable, but we could feel it was 2 mattress put together. Shower was the best, the water pressure is strong and the shower head can be adjusted to give a massage. Room contained a heater and it was hot enough to make us sweat, and it was freezing outside. We also had a Bose portable speaker, TV with free movies, and a tablet for ordering room service. Location is out of town center, however a nice 30mins stroll along the lake to town is a must do. If not, hotel provides free shuttle service to and from town center. There are also free parking available for those with vehicles. Thanks to all staff (especially Jimmy) for being warm welcoming, knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely wanting to help.

Stunning property - best location for Queenstown”
This property really can't be faulted, nothing is too much hassle. Great location on the lake, perfect to sit on your balcony watching the sunset. Perfectly located to drive in and out without the hassle of Queenstown traffic. Shuttle bus to and from the town centre makes access super easy and no need to compete for car parks in town either.

Really great hotel, Restraunt not so good”
Really beautifully appointed hotel, great place to stay. Location was truly great, just a bit out of town so quieter but close enough to everything when you need it. Staff were also charming and helpful. Only down side was the restaurant. Unfortunately as is typical, restaurants with great views often have sub-par food, this was no exception.

Fantastic Luxury hotel and apartment”
Lovely luxury hotel with an exceptional view. very clean and well equipped room with all neccessary appliances like washer dryer. The kids loved the apartment. i loved the fact that it was so close to the lake with a linkway straight to the pathway. Very close to town n they provide free shuttle which was a plus point. Friendly staff from reception to the room service. Though abit pricey, it was well worth it for a luxury experience.

Check in was fast and staff were friendly and helpful. The stay has been nothing but excellent as the room is spacious, comfy bed with a breathtaking view of the remarkables mountain range. It's the view from our bed that's makes waking up each morning more cheerful. The car park is ample and good since we rented a highlander was worried for parking size but no issue at all. The lil details such as turn down service with house keeping providing lil chocolate on the bedding each night makes one smile with happiness too. Sadly we check out tomorrow but will surely look forward to coming here again 💕

definitely worth paying for a lakeside view room. the service is impeccable and shout out to alex for being rad. it's not walking distance into town but there is a complimentary shuttle service every hour and you just need to book in a spot. there's bicycle hire too which is lovely to get into town riding along the lake. good choice of movies with the new releases you have to pay for so keep scrolling to see the free ones. the quality of the movies isn't great though as the image didn't look clear or seemed like it buffered out.
