Perfect base to meet up with old friends”
Stayed here on a saturday night in order to meet old friends for drink and catch up in Clifton. Friendly staff and perfectly adequate room for a short stay. Good location and overall very satisfied with my stay.

Misleading people!!!”
We were given a room on the fourth floor and as there is no elevator my son had to drag all the bags upstairs. The room 440 was tiny and the ceiling was like a loft so even in the shower we had to bend in two and it was very cramped up and uncomfortable not like anything in the picture on the Internet!!!!

Great location, nice hotel but parking difficulty”
Location, rooms
The hotel is lovely, very central in the city center yet in a side street which is relatively calm. Good to explore the area. Beware if you arrive by car, though. We came there at 13:00h, so one hour before check-in time. In front of the hotel are 3 parking spaces, plus 2 right next to it in front of the associated pub. Out of these total 5 space, 4 were empty. So we wanted to leave the car there and tell the reception that we are due to check in later after walking to the city. NOT POSSIBLE! We could not park our car in spite of available spaces, we had to wait one hour until check-in time! So we had to drive throught the side streets in order to find a free space, pay for it and come back later to use the hotel's car park which was the reason to chose the hotel after all! Ridiculous! The icing on the cake: the single car which was parked there belonged to the staff lady at the reception! We have never experienced such unflexible customer service. What would be the big deal? You could argue that one space should stay free for customers who were checking out and loading their car (why would they not have it parked there in the first place? but anyway...). But 4 spaces left empty?! This was pure burocrazy (pun intended). The otherwise nice experience in the hotel was strongly tainted by this. We will not come again.

Worth for $$”
location, worth for $$ & clean
It is consider a good hotel for the $$ paid. The room is clean and equip with standard facility like hairdryer, toiletries, clean towel, coffee tea. However the shower space is quite small. Our room is facing the main road where there is a bar just opposite the hotel, it was very noisy at night, you can hear ppl talking at the bar. Hotel is near to the city, walking abt 5-10mins. Parking is another problem, u will need to search for the parking at the street nearby.

Hotel selected for ease to appointment ”
efficient staff, clean & location easy to drive to private hospital for an appointment - for someone not familiar to drive around Bristol
Within the building restaurant (different management than hotel owned) was being re-arranged and though was due to be opened, it wasn't available for evening meal. Was travelling with a sister (who has hospital appointment) who does not walk well, due to rain we were keen to eat within the hotel. This was made possible only through the friendliness and kind service of the restaurant-all-managing person supervising re-arranging of restaurant who took our order, menu from across the hotel place & have food delivered to us.

middling”
great breakfast, good location, comfortable bed
I requested a twin room, but the hotel hadn't received the request through agoda. It might be worth ringing ahead to confirm in future. The room was ok. It was quite small and the bathroom was tiny - we were grateful we are not particularly tall or large! There were tea and coffee making facilities, but some splattered stains on the wall where tea bags have been thrown in. The room was very noisy with people in the bar outside chatting loudly and a couple in full blown screaming match. That is not the hotel's fault, of course, but it was irritating. Wifi was pretty unreliable but did work. The doors are heavy, probably because it's old and a fire precaution, but it means most guests end up slamming them at all times of the day and night. The staff were polite, friendly and amenable. Breakfast next door was great (but not really cheap) but avoid the coffee. The parking is limited but we managed to find somewhere down the road where the car was ok, if not a little walk away.
