Great place, great location!”
We love this place so much that we come back again. The hotel ground is lovely and very quiet. The hotel staff is very helpful. All the amenity are well equipped. Breakfast is more than enough. In sum, it is very much recommended
Nice traditional thai-style hotel”
This hotel gives you a traditional thai-style feeling, almost a bit nostalgic. For instance, the room key is actually a key and not a key-card. The pool is rather small but nice to relax. The rooms and the balconies have wooden floors. The bathroom is also old-style but well maintained and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful with good advises about sightseeing in town and trips out of town. Overall, a very satisfactory stay.
I loved my stay there and will go back! It's not in the old town but at its border. You can walk there and it's much more quiet. The buildings, the room and the pool are beautiful. The staff was great and very helpful. I did not want to leave. Thank you!
Nothern Thai (Lanna) Style Hotel.”
This hotel is located close to canal and old town. Pros. - distinguished decoration with big logs, you will see at reception counter. The hotel look like a temple. - close to canal and road, located on old town city. - bicycle for free. - room very comfort and so clean, the bed is good. - clean pool. - cheap food and beverage. - quiet and private. - coffee and tea are many choices in breakfast. Cons. - stay at premiere room, it's so small. - price is quite high. - air condition is lound. - breakfast is not much choices. In my opinion, this hotel suit to foreigner not Thai because of decoration and style.
Beautiful hotel in Chiang Mai's old town”
We really enjoyed out stay. Staff were unfailingly helpful and the standard of the rooms is very high. The gardens are beautiful and the pool creates a wonderful space to cool down. I would have preferred more vegetarian breakfast options, and the equipment in the exercise room is surprisingly poor, when every other aspect of this hotel is top notch. I hope I have a chance to return to this lovely hotel.
very nice hotel i like it a lot & good location but the breakfast so poor!!! i travel to many places and many hotels i stayed but this hotel every thing is perfect but breakfast is not fit with the hotel i pay for 5,000 Baht per night!!!!!
The Rim is a beuatiful Chang Mai- Thai designed resort. It has a very quiet peaceful ambiance about it. The staff are very attentavive and helpful.I had a line up of baby sitters when I took my young daughter to breakfast. The rooms are quaint and comfortable. It is located right in the Old City which makes sight seeing very accessable. It is a pleasure to return to this resort after a long day of exporing Chang Mai.
Lovely staff and peaceful architecture ”
The staff welcomed us with a tea and a big smile that was here until the end of the trip. Lovely place with local architecture. Good location. The room was big, he bathroom had a shower and a separated bath tub and the balcony was ideal to relax in front of the swimming pool. I would recommend this place to any friends.
Comfortable and convenient hotel in the old town”
Nice hotel about 20 mins away from the Chiang Mai airport and right on the west edge of the old town. Within walking distance to a number of temples and the chiang mai "walking street" in the old town area. Good service, and friendly staff. Breakfast was included and is decent, but a little limited in choice. Didnt try lunch or dinner. Pool is quite small and seemed to be more like a central display than really being of practical use. Didnt see anyone swimming in the pool, but there were a few people lounging around it. Same goes for the gym - too small and limited equipment. Rooms are nice, and the rate on agoda was good.
Lovely hotel with big rooms”
We flew from Bangkok for a 4 nights stay in Chiang Mai. This is a lovely hotel with big rooms (stayed in Superior room). There are not much facilities, the gym is fairly small and so was the pool. However, we had a great stay here, the hotel gives out complimentary voucher for the bar. The breakfast was good, you get to choose from a menu and there's also buffet style for toast, cornflakes and drinks. The hotel is centrally located and you can get around the area quite easily. The staff was friendly and very helpful.
Lovely little boutique hotel !”
Fantastic little boutique hotel in traditional architecture and interior appointments to give you that old-world feeling. Only 38-39 rooms and therefore very cosy. But the rooms are big! In the spare spaces, 5 adults can play a game of Twisters with no injuries! Staff attitudes are first rate : polite, friendly, and attentive. Maybe because it's a small boutique hotel that there seems to be a, cosy, fuzzy, family-like atmosphere. Location is fantastic : just inside the edge of the Old City walls and practically next to the Suan Dok gate. Incidentally, Suan Dok gate guards the western entrance to the roughly 1.5km x 1.5km square old Chiang Mai city (pls Google a map of the old city to have an idea). As the hotel is relatively new at only about 2 years old, many tourist maps may not indicate the hotel's presence but it's there. Just look for Suandok gate on the map. The hotel is almost literally a spitting distance away to the left of the gate as you are looking out of the gate from inside the city walls. As far as convenience goes, it's perfect in the sense that it's not far away from the attractions inside the old city walls or surrounding it, and yet not too near the crowds and traffic on the narrow streets within. Perfect balance of convenience and privacy. When I return to Chiang Mai, that's the hotel I'll be going back to. No need to try others.
Clean, great service, great location”
From the bell boys to the receptionists, we were promptly attended to the moment we set foot into this hotel. Check-in was hassle-free. Staff were very helpful with our enquiries about whereabouts and assisted to book taxi to airport. Rooms are large, clean and equipped with large beds, although there are patches on the walls in the toilet that require some repainting. Breakfast was delicious and food were prepared in 10 minutes upon placing order with the waitress.
Too good to be true...”
If you like to stay in hotels and just hanging around in the hotels swimming, chilling then this is the hotel you should rent. If not then you might waste your money not enjoying the hotel instead going for a whole day trip outside.
True Thai Hospitality”
Just came back from a 5 nights stay with The Rim. It was wonderful. We were in a group of 5 adults with 4 young children from 2 years till 8 years old. Before we arrived, I have communicated with their Butler service informing them on our booking through discounted hotel site. Their confirmation came promptly and when we arrived, we even get a surprised room upgrade and a very good location. It is located right in the old city, just minutes away from the Sunday walking street. They provide free shuttle to the market, but we decided not to wait as the shuttle only starts at 7pm. so we walked and it was pretty near. Although there really isn't much to explore around the immediate hotel area, it is just so convenient to take a tuk tuk for a low cost. For our family of 9, it just cost 100 bath per trip to anywhere for food or shopping with the red tuk tuk which could easily fit all of us in including the baby stroller. The hotel design is thai with a modern twist. Although it is not brand new, it is very well maintained. I love the window that connects the bath to the bed room. When my baby is asleep on the bed, I could keep an eye on him while washing up. One thing about this hotel is you can't really do your own laundry, the basin can not be closed up so you could not keep water for your washing. Good thing I brought my own pail to wash all the baby stuff. If you planning on doing your own washing like me, bring your own pail. If not, they do laundry service at very good price. The bed was a bid hard even for someone like me who is used to sleeping on chiropractor bed. But I still managed to sleep very well for all my nights. Although it is really located along the main road, it is surprisingly quite when you are in the room with the occasional sounds of sirens from police or ambulance. Other than that, you really hardly hear any sounds of traffic.
Wonderful Hotel with great service!”
The hotel has a very good Thai restaurant (the Canal) which is highly recommended. The rooms were big but there is a need to renovate as it is starting to look dated and old. Nevertheless the helpful staff made the stay very pleasant and enjoyable.
Great Location and Lovely Hotel”
A good hotel to pamper yourself in with a small budget. Location is good as it is located in the Old city, within walking distance to the Sunday Walking Street. Lovely people, polite and helpful staff. Will be going back there again.
Fantastic Hotel! Best one we stayed at in Thailand”
This was a fantastic hotel with very helpful staff. Its located in the old city, and the hotel offers a free nightly shuttle bus to the markets, and is close to most things. We hired a scooter through the hotel and were able to see a lot off chiang mai from here. Its a very clean and unique hotel, with great friendly staff, a nice pool/bar area and free wifi. Our room was very clean, and nice and large with a great balcony overlooking the garden.
Small Luxury Hotel with great Service”
We stayed 4 nights at the Rim in Chiang Mai. It,s a lovely Hotel with very friendly, very professional Stuff (they call it Butler here which matches it perfectly). The design of the hotel reminds of the old lanna architecture but brings in the modern comfort of a 5Star resort. it,s never crowded and very peaceful. we will come back. the only little Contra is the location, it,s at the outer part of the old town, could be a bit closer to the main attractions, but on the other hand that is the reason it,s so peaceful
stylish hotel, friendly staff”
The hotel design and the room is very stylish... Ethnic atmosphere... lovely quiet The pool is very small, however, you can do sunbath nearly the whole day on the pool sides.. From breakfast terrace, you can enjoy the Chiang Mai city canel view while having your quality breakfast ... checking Chiang Mai citizen morning life... lovely !!! The room is quite small, but the amenity is herbal made, interesting. And the restroom resign is very tripical Thais :) Wifi signal in the room is very strong, good if you have to work on net...
Strongly recomended to all travellers in Chiangmai, best resort we had stayed in. Nothing to complain about, great staff, wonderful breakfast and food at their restaurant, super helpful butler and shuttle driver, great room, great location. Love love love this place.
