Listen—this isn’t my family’s first time staying here, and we’re happy Ritz customers, so this review comes from a place of love rather than harshness. We know Ritz’s standards as long-time visitors. This trip was a mix of good and bad—the good included, as usual, the beach, the food, the reception team, and the hospitality team. Waleed from the security team was outstanding and greeted us with warmth and kindness every interaction. This year, my wife and I brought our infant daughter for the first time, and the welcome team rolled out the red carpet for us. It was also my wife’s birthday and the reception team set up balloons and a banner in our room. This is the Ritz we know and love. So you can imagine our surprise when some staff were rude and needlessly curt. For example, when I checked out of the hotel, it took the respective staff 40 minutes to locate and bring us our luggage. Second, after we dined at the Kahlo Cantina and I started feeling sick, I asked for panadol. I was told that hotel policy was that no panadol can be given to guests. My wife ordered some on Talabat and when trying to retrieve it, the security staff at the door was short with her for what reason I don’t know. She didn’t catch his name but he was working the front gate on Sep. 4 at around 8:30pm. I expect better from the Ritz as some staff and standards are slipping below the global standard.
