A pleasant experience”
The Roots Eco Resort is situated next to an attractive river. We were lucky to have a cabin which was a distance away from the road. The cabin was comfortable with a/c and an outside verandah area for sitting. The adjoining bathroom was down a few steps from our room. The swimming pool was great. The breakfasts, which were freshly prepared for us, were varied and interesting.

The place was under major maintenance during my stay. So maybe in order to cover the inconvenience they were so lovely to gave us a another free room next to mine and a bag of rambutans. Such a lovely hospirality and i love how my room has a river view. The sound from the river stream is a bless to my family at night. Love it.

Amazing”
This place is a gem. For the price i pay, i definitely feel this is worth itt! There is a river at the back, large swimming pool, trampoline, foosball table and the tree house — wow. I really love the concept. I never knw we have such a place in Malaysia. Perfect place for a simple getaway. Downside: the resort is not really well maintained. The swimming pool needs regular cleaning. I did not have much time to fully utilise the resort fully. But overall, it was a pleasant stay!

Relive the countryside nostalgia”
Fantastic hospitality and great food. Great place for team building and taking the kids away from their world of gadgets and introducing them to the nature and its offerings. Living in the rooms next to the Kinta rapid, enjoying the poolside cocktails or going for an early morning trek all comes together. Do not go for 5 star comforts but for an experience of a lifetime. Special mention for Santhy the host of the restaurant "Squirrel Hideout" for her hospitality and one of best Indian Curries made to order. Looking foward to go back again.

Quick getaway from the hustle & bustle of KL for nature lovers”
For those weak hearted suburbanites brace yourselves to come face to face with lizards and other small animals ;) We managed to relax & unwind to the sound of nature and special mention goes to Ms Shanty's excellent cooking skills. One of the best I've had (apart from my Mom's cooking... ahemm), yeah but way better than any of those commercialised eateries around KL. Overall, it was a great riverside experience & sure to visit again!

Booked this place last minutes since my first choice Lost World Hotel was fully booked. There was no proper signage leading to this place..luckily Waze managed to bring me there. The main gate was closed and only open after we rang the bell. The place was nice..close to the nature. It located exactly next to kinta river. Lots of green lush but the chalet and the surrounding was not properly managed and really need to upgrade. The mattress was very hard and when i woke up and my back was in pain. Overall the place was nice, just need proper upgrade and maintenance.

Good setup badly maintained, not cleaned properly, understaffed, untrained staff ”
I booked and paid for a superior garden room for 6 through Agoda. When I got there I was given a riverfront room for 4. The price was cheaper than what I paid for. The person at the reception said he was not working there, he was helping out. He told me that there were no rooms for 6 at the place. I asked for an extra mattress and was told that I had to pay for that. It was already dusk so I agreed. Before coming I had called to find out if you could bathe in the river next to the resort. I was told yes but the water was not deep at that point of time due to dry season starting. The next morning. we went to the stream and found that it had a smell, further exploration revealed that there was a cow breeder and a horse breeder not far upstream, therefore the source of the smell. We abandoned our plans and checked out early in the morning. I told the reception that I had been overcharged and she said the manager will contact me and process a refund. Not charged for extra mattress

Cleanliness and Room State”
Need to improve on the cleanliness as well as the state of the room. The room was dusty (I got runny nose after that), the water pressure in the bathroom was insufficient, and the bedsheet was stained. There’s potential and room for improvement because it’s such a lovely place. Don’t ruin it because of lack of maintenance.

Resort with no maintenance”
3 stars for the Jacuzzi. Everything else is disappointing. The condition of the resort was not maintained, the pool pump was broken, no housekeeping as I can see the room area was not swept, tea bags left dried in the jar. They only change for the towel, bed sheet & clean the toilet I think. Not worth the money.
