A location you will love to be there”
I did a terrible mistake by not inquiring in advance and took a cab from the airport to the hotel. I landed up paying 93 Pounds for this journey. But once I reached the place we fell in love with this Palace Like hotel. From outside it gives a real Royal feeling. The air is so fresh as the breeze from sea just engulfs you. The DART train line is 3 minutes walk from the hotel which is most convenient way of reaching Dublin city and extremely inexpensive. The daily walk up to Dun Laoghaire Pier was energizing for both of us. A big shopping mall just on the road, The Maritime Museum and church nearby, the bus stand right there and coach for the airport across the road makes the location so much worth it. The many small pubs and restaurants (includes one Indian too) gave us immense joy to experience Irish food. Not to miss the Chinese restaurant "Mao" close by. You may find rooms bit expensive but the beauty, the location, the ever so smiling pleasant staff make it all justifiable.

Excellent location, great value”
The hotel is old but elegant, and the staff are very helpful. Rooms are clean and comfy, and breakfast includes a large assortment of food served in the dining room with a nice view. Bar inside the hotel and close to everything.

Fabulous weekend at the royal marine ”
Amazing stay. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff- they all provided an exceptional service. When there were problems with the heating the manager went out of his way to resolve this. Breakfast was a delight. Close to the station, and Dublin City Centre. With views of the sea I would defiantly use this hotel again.

Old, but nice enough”
Good location, near the water. Friendly staff. Very old building, at least I was in an old section. But I would stay again because it's a great value!

A bit dated”
Some seating areas need new furniture. I didn’t like that I could not open the windows in my bedroom that seemed to be screwed shut. Air conditioning is a pour substitute. Breakfast needed more attention to detail with bacon overdone and eggs hit and miss. There needs to be a kids curfew in restaurant and bars

Lovely hotel but front office staff very rude”
The hotel is lovely and all the staff were lovely except reception. I have never met such rude front office staff. Very unfriendly always appeared as if any query was a hassle to them - it was as if you were always disturbing them. I really cannot understand how management would put this staff at reception as gives the people a very bad impression of the hotel. Staff in the restaurant and bar were fabulous and so friendly perhaps they should be at reception. It would turn me off the hotel.

short breaks”
staff gave different times to check in and leave. desserts menu 3 items not available after ordering, staff not helpful when looking for help ,ignored many times.sink plug in bathroom did not pull up,stuck closed. No bin in room.Outside security light at night, shone straight into room, not allowing you to open curtains and have window open, heavy curtain had to opened to get ventilation from window.Generally a hotel that needs attention to detail, and staff need to be more attentive, and know whats happening at the hotel, food available etc.

Great service in comfortable surroundings”
I have worked in hotels and also stayed in many hotels of varying types. I received the BEST service ever at the Royal Marine. There are also good restaurants in the hotel. A lovely pool (select ours for kids though). It is centrally located close to public transport, shopping, restaurants and the dun Laoghaire sea front. This was by far one of the best travel experiences I ever had. One issue is the fact that the rooms do not have wi if but apparently this is being installed soon. The lifts(elevators) take a little getting used and I really disliked the shampoo they provide (bring your own). I also found it odd that for a five day stay the housekeeper gave me a new soap every day, throwing the old one out...that seems like a waste of money to me. i would have happily used it until it was gone! None of this detracts from the excellent staff and lovely rooms! I would say to management well done!

Effortless, comfortable hotel of character”
This was my third time staying at The Royal Marine and by far the best by virtue of being given a room in the newer wing which has the extra advantage of wireless internet. The hotel is comfortable, has good facilities and generous parking which is free. Close to all amenities and to public transport in and out of Dublin and right beside refreshing walks along the pier or coastline.

Excellent location ”
The service at the Royal marine was to a very high standard. They were quick to respond to any queries and the bar staff were very friendly and quick to serve. The location was the best thing about this hotel, you can grab the air coach to and and from The airport and the dart into Dublin city centre is a few minutes walk.

I stayed at the Royal Marine hotel for one night to celebrate my birthday and in my room on my return from an outing found chocolates and a card for me. This is the kind of hotel you want to stay in, with staff that are so wonderful. It’s a beautiful hotel in an amazing location. Great facilities including a great pool. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Harbour view heaven”
From fast check in on arrival to speedy delivery of ice buckets full of ice, my stay at the royal marine was faultless. Great location as the aerbus takes 40 mins from the airport straight to the hotel. Breakfast was heavenly with local sausages. Superb shopping in the town a few minutes walk. Lovely tea shop in town. Cavistons restaurant for good seafood and the food emporium next door stocked everything. Will definitely return.
