Great service in comfortable surroundings”

Service, friendly helpful staff, the clean comfortable room

I have worked in hotels and also stayed in many hotels of varying types. I received the BEST service ever at the Royal Marine. There are also good restaurants in the hotel. A lovely pool (select ours for kids though). It is centrally located close to public transport, shopping, restaurants and the dun Laoghaire sea front. This was by far one of the best travel experiences I ever had. One issue is the fact that the rooms do not have wi if but apparently this is being installed soon. The lifts(elevators) take a little getting used and I really disliked the shampoo they provide (bring your own). I also found it odd that for a five day stay the housekeeper gave me a new soap every day, throwing the old one out...that seems like a waste of money to me. i would have happily used it until it was gone! None of this detracts from the excellent staff and lovely rooms! I would say to management well done!

A location you will love to be there”

I did a terrible mistake by not inquiring in advance and took a cab from the airport to the hotel. I landed up paying 93 Pounds for this journey. But once I reached the place we fell in love with this Palace Like hotel. From outside it gives a real Royal feeling. The air is so fresh as the breeze from sea just engulfs you. The DART train line is 3 minutes walk from the hotel which is most convenient way of reaching Dublin city and extremely inexpensive. The daily walk up to Dun Laoghaire Pier was energizing for both of us. A big shopping mall just on the road, The Maritime Museum and church nearby, the bus stand right there and coach for the airport across the road makes the location so much worth it. The many small pubs and restaurants (includes one Indian too) gave us immense joy to experience Irish food. Not to miss the Chinese restaurant "Mao" close by. You may find rooms bit expensive but the beauty, the location, the ever so smiling pleasant staff make it all justifiable.

Effortless, comfortable hotel of character”

Bedroom was well appointed, wireless internet, good facilities

This was my third time staying at The Royal Marine and by far the best by virtue of being given a room in the newer wing which has the extra advantage of wireless internet. The hotel is comfortable, has good facilities and generous parking which is free. Close to all amenities and to public transport in and out of Dublin and right beside refreshing walks along the pier or coastline.

Excellent location ”

Friendly staff, spacious room and location

The service at the Royal marine was to a very high standard. They were quick to respond to any queries and the bar staff were very friendly and quick to serve. The location was the best thing about this hotel, you can grab the air coach to and and from The airport and the dart into Dublin city centre is a few minutes walk.

This is the kind of hotel you want to stay in, with staff that are so wonderful. It’s a beautiful hotel in an amazing location. Great facilities including a great pool. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Harbour view heaven”

Views. Breakfast. Spa.

From fast check in on arrival to speedy delivery of ice buckets full of ice, my stay at the royal marine was faultless. Great location as the aerbus takes 40 mins from the airport straight to the hotel. Breakfast was heavenly with local sausages. Superb shopping in the town a few minutes walk. Lovely tea shop in town. Cavistons restaurant for good seafood and the food emporium next door stocked everything. Will definitely return.

Now a regular hotel to stay at as it is in a great location for the sea views and shops but also not far from Dublin without the Dublin hotel prices. Great food in the hotel but also less expensive food and drink outside nearby. Room and bathroom clean and quick Housekeeping.Value for money.

Lovely Hotel for 2 days in Dublin”

We paid $105 for this hotel. We got an interior room, facing a small courtyard. I didn't care, as we spent very little time in the hotel, and it was clearly the lowest rate Free parking was great, and the hotel was a 5 minute walk from the DART, which made getting to Dublin a breeze. The bed was comfortable, and staff were all very friendly. A machine in the lobby sold power adapters for only €4, which was very reasonable. Hotel interior was clean, and had that nice old hotel look. There was a full fitness club attached, with better facilities than a typical hotel pool.

Lovely old hotel in good location ”

Ivey is hogs right near waterfront. Only 15 to 20 minutes from Dublin cbd. Shopping and restaurants only 5 minutes walk. . Parking Katie I underground parking structure. We got park each tie but at very bottom which is a omg way tony with luggage. Extremely impressed that the General Manager saw us struggling with our bags and helpe immediately. Our room was miles from car park. Pleased though as sea view which was worth the extra. 42 inch tv, desk, fridge, bed, table and chairs. Bath and seperate shower. All good. Our bed was two pushed together and had seen better days. Overall vg though.

Fabulous weekend at the royal marine ”

Amazing stay. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff- they all provided an exceptional service. When there were problems with the heating the manager went out of his way to resolve this. Breakfast was a delight. Close to the station, and Dublin City Centre. With views of the sea I would defiantly use this hotel again.

A bit of history”

history of it, the proximity to all facilities, free parking

lovely big hotel with fast and efficient counter staff. The rooms were well decorated with everything needed for a great degree of comfort. Plenty of places to eat and drink within the hotel. The location allows access to the sea front and is within easy walking distance of all local amenities. The surrounding area is very scenic and pleasant. The building is full of history and there are chances to read about previous celebrity occupants. There is a free underground car park with easy access to the building. Faultless.

large & comfortable bed and friendly staff”

comfortable bed, first king size bed i had in a month of europe & a great breakfast with great semi formal service

Had a nice time and the hotel was great although it could use some updating in the rooms and hallways. I liked the historic pictures of the place and the staff was very nice and helpful, however the bar staff was not as attentive or as nice to deal with. After traveling the past month in Europe is was great to finally have access to a king bed that was comfortable. Wi-Fi should be available in all rooms.

Beautiful warm and friendly hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful, loved the christmas decorations. Hardys bar was excellent and there was a musician singer who was excellent. The breakfast was amazing. I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel. The views of the sea add to the ambience. Maybe a couple of seats out the front would benefit the Hotel.
