      Not for everyone”

We had two large suitcases with a rental car and this place was difficult to get to, navigating the biggest thoroughfare into Malacca Heritage Town. They don't have their own on-site parking and the staff, at times, seemed pretty disinterested in getting up to help at all (opening doors or helping with luggage). You don't need to be a 5-star establishment to have a dedicated bell boy to do those things. Having said so, the room was clean and a good size but lacked natural light (made up for with the artificial green wall. If you're staying for one night - great. More than a night, there are better options out there.

      Nice hotel in old Melaka”

Really liked this hotel, room was spacious and clean with a nice shower and decent aircon - and it was a pre-requisite - insanely hot outside. The Govt. of Malaysia have introduced a tourist tax which isn't included in your booked room rate so watch out for that one, it would be nice to have it included in the rate so you know where you stand. Breakfast okay, continental with scrambled eggs and Asian options. Coffee good. Could become repetitive on longer stays. Location is excellent with everything within walking distance if you're prepared for the humidity. Road outside the front of the hotel is like a racetrack and if you find yourself in a room at the froint of the hotel, noisy with it. Mine wasn't thankfully and I had a great night's sleep in a really dark room with a comfy clean bed. I'd stay again without hesitation if the room rate was right.

      Receiptionist need to improve”

There was no parking for hotel guess, but public parking is available. Hotel reception must prepare a parking coupon to sell to hotel guess. My gar gets summon, due to no coupon, because reception told that parking coupon was sold out, and no officer will come on this time.

Compact room with well thought out placement for electrical sockets. The only thing was hair dryer in my room did not fit the wall socket. Oh, and how can I forget the bolster!!! After days of sleeping in hotels without one, it felt soooo good to hug a bolster to sleep!

      Good location”

Good location, walking distance from Jonker Street and a short car ride to the malls. Check-in was a breeze and the girl at the reception was informative. Room wasn't very clean - bedsheet was crumpled, stained and had some hair on it. Toiler mirror had water stains running down. Towels were badly stained - might be time to change out the old towels. Breakfast was tasty but limited choice - a packet of nasi lemak on one day and a bowl of soup on another. Overall a good stay, value of money.

      2nd time I’m back”

Amazing lobby design and I love their breakfast — nasi lemak rice and sambal! Used to have packet of nasi lemak wrapped in banana leaf but I didn’t see it in this stay. I also don’t like the poster of the girl in the room, seems quite scary. Will suggest that you request room away from the road if you are light sleeper.

      Very good”

Nonchalant style service. Location is close to Jonker Walk but extremely inconvenient as it sits in the middle of the busy thoroughfare in the heritage town. Consider packing light as it's a struggle to get in/out. We also had rented a car and they don't have their own parking.

      Worth it”

The location is A+. Can’t get any closer to the centre than this. We stayed in the Premier King room, which overlooks the main road from the first floor. Before staying here I was worried about the parking and the noise, but those didn’t turn out to be an issue for me. Actually if you’re looking to stay in the right smack in Jonker area, you would be worse off tbh. During our stay we had no problem getting parking. Turn left into the road between the church and the row of shops, you’re bound to find a spot. As for the noise level, the windows effectively reduce the traffic to a low rumble (except when a beca passes by blasting music). The town quiets down around midnight, so no trouble sleeping. Other things worth mentioning: The place itself is quiet and private, didn’t hear any sound from other guests. The room has a nice luxury feel. Plug points all within reach. If you can get it at a good rate, grab it.

      excellent location”

The location is excellent, about half a minute walk to Jonker Street. However, the hotel do not have any car park, so you would have to park at public car park at the road side(extremely limited) or some private car park with daily fees of RM2. Also, they seems to be short of hand as there was no receptionist available when I wanted to check in(2:45pm) and check out(7:30am) and have to wait for about 10-15minutes on both instances. Overall, the room is clean and comfortable, and excellent location.

Pro : 1. Good location (1 minute walk to Jonker Street). 2. Clean (new hotel). 3. Friendly staff. 4. Nice contemporary decoration and design. 5. Spaces room. Con : 1. The rooms closed to the street are a little bit noisy, so the hotel will provides earplugs for you. 2. No parking provided at the moment. 3. Simple breakfast.

The hotel is just opposite to the jonker street and next to the Red Christ Church. It is soooo convenient! The interior design of the room is so modern and it is very clean. Bolster provided which is a plus point. The breakfast is very limited but the taste was good. Would definitely come back again! Highly recommended.

      Fantastic Location!”

Hotel is located very near to Jonker Street, which mean it is also near to major attraction spots in Malacca. You can walk all the time. Hotel room is clean, well-equipped, and spacious. For those who plan to stay the hotel with a car, kindly plan for your parking spot. The breakfast was very basic (may be due to weekday?). It was sufficient to provide energy for a morning activity at Malacca historical side. I suggest hotel to provide local food (such as nasi lemak, kuih nyonya etc) to improve the choice of variety.

      2nd Visit”

This is my 2nd stay at Rucksack Caratel Jonker Wing. We chose to come back again mainly because of its location, within walking distance to Jonker Street. The staffs on duty were extremely friendly and patient in explaining to me the T&Cs. Housekeeping staff on duty for my room was Kak Lin which personally I think, did a good job. Overall cleanliness was good, except the wall corners of the shower room has quite obvious yellow stains. Would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends.

      Super worth it”

What I love about this hotel - Great location! just less than a minute away from the start of Jonker walk - Nice theme to the hotel! - Rooms were clean and spacious - Had a window with grass featured wall which adds to the “view” rather than a solid concrete wall / no view window. - Friendly staff Things to improve on perhaps? - Breakfast option was very limited - The bathrooms designed in a way that it will flood because the floor was leveled, and if you open the shower glass door, it pushes the water outwards to the toilet bowl area - We went out for 4-5 hours but the housekeeping did not come to tidy the room. Overall enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again the next time we visit Malacca!!
