Theres better out there. ”
This hotel was decent. It was not the best and not the worst. The breakfast was alright. The rooms blanket was dirty when we walked in. The staff told us they would bring a new one but they never did. There is no outlet in the bathroom to plug in a hairdryer or straightner. The location is pretty far from the tube, its about a 10-14 min walk from the East Ham station.

Great city location, but FAR from Heathrow Airport”
Reception is 24 hour and very helpful and knowledgeable. Facilities were very clean and modern. Bed was fairly comfortable and toilet facilities were quite nice with plenty of hot water. Room was large (we had a handicapped accessible room for 4 people, so I don't know if the regular rooms are as big.) Some street noise from the pub, but not too much or too late. I would recommend this hotel to London visitors unless you have an early flight out of Heathrow the next morning. Underground does not run for a few hours in early morning and we had to take a taxi. Cost 60 pounds! Also took 1 1/2 hours on Underground to arrive at hotel. Great for traveling into city for King's Cross or other downtown attractions though. About 20 min.

Good staff, good breakfast but bad location”
The primarily Indian staff were quite friendly and helpful and breakfast was good. Rooms are quite new, clean and spacious. However, the main problem is location! There is another Ruskin Hotel in Russell Square which we originally thought we were booking, but allegedly made the mistake of booking at Ruskin in East Ham due to confusion on the Agoda Web site. This Ruskin hotel in East Ham is in a rather unsafe part of the city and is way too far away from anything on the District subway (Tube) line. It's also a 15 minute walk from East Ham subway station. The differences in location makes a huge difference regarding convenience for travelers who wish to spend longer evenings or early mornings in the center of the city versus having to travel 40 minutes just to get to Westminster, and nearly an hour and a half to get from East Ham to Heathrow! The area of the city is also rather dodgy with many Indian, Arabian and other minority drunks on the main road from the subway to the hotel in the later evening hours. On a brighter note, the breakfast is great and the rooms are very comfortable and spacious. Wi-fi in rooms also very good.

Good budget hotel”
We found the Ruskin Hotel met our needs very well. It was close to Stratford by bus and well linked to London by tube and train. Facilities were good with a really great shower. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.

Ruskin Hotel - pretty reasonable overall”
Not the best area but overall the hotel is more than adequate for a short stay especially as a business traveler. Found the hotel to be clean & room had all you basically need for a comfortable stay. Wi-fi OK. I was lucky on both nights to be able to get my car into the secure small car park alongside the hotel - I wouldn't have been particularly happy to have left the brand new hire car parked out on the public road looking at some of the vehicles that were lining the surrounding streets. Price is fairly competitive for the area. Pub part of the Hotel also all OK with reasonably priced beer & food with friendly staff. Included buffet breakfast not too bad either.Would consider using again if able to get a slightly better deal in the price.

Excellent for price”
Clean and wide room. Reached at late night and gladly everything was ready and no hassle of waiting, etc. Staff was helpful. Didn't try breakfast though (got off bed late lol). Overall worth every penny paid.

Nothing Special”
We stayed here before a few years back and the hotel had just been done up and we were happy with it. It is in a great location for going to Upton Park for a West Ham game so ideal for us in that sense and the free car park is a huge advantage. Overall though we felt standards had slipped since our previous visit. The blind on our window was missing a section so once the sun came up the room was so bright and even if the section wasnt missing, the blind is not sufficient to keep the sun out. The bathroom had a very strange smell in it when we checked in and we then realised that there was mould all over the ceiling and walls of the shower.
