We stayed at island vibe port elizabeth while visiting my partners family we absolutely loved our stay at Island Vibe our rooms were so clean and spacious with cleaning staff knocking on our door each morning asking if we want our room cleaned. The staff could not do enough for you, you felt part of there family while staying there.I felt really safe staying at Island Vibe It was the first time I felt I could leave my bag in the room without worrying about something happening, same with food in the fridge what you put there stays there, they also had security at night time. I really love how they looked after there guests thank you to all the staff at Island Vibe for our great stay we look forward to coming back next year

Excellent”

Staff very friendly and helpfull especially Max the host. Need a fan or aircon in the room it was very hot and can't sleep comfortable at night. Walking distance to beach. Otherwise the stay at Russel Guest House was "lekker"....

Wonderful!”

Island Vibe is a really nice place just after the crowd on the main beach of Port Ellizabeth. Max was really nice, helpful and insightful about what we can do in PE. The room was brilliant. They even have a common Jacuzzi.

Perfect for a one night stop-over”

You get what you pay for. 4/5 stars for what it is intended for- a one-night stay during a business trip or similar. We checked in earlier than usual (I did say we would arrive early when booking), so there weren’t clean towels ready. The rooms were neat and tidy, and comfortable. While the wifi was intermittent in the rooms, in the main area it was good enough to send work emails, and the TV in the room had a wide variety of channels, as well as the DSTV music bouquet which was great! There is a large common area to sit and eat, do work, or watch TV. Unfortunately due to the lack of response to questions asked while making the booking (arranging of an airport transfer, no acknowledgement of the early arrival), hairdryers with no plugs attached, and the intermittent wifi, means it loses a star. At the end of the day, you get what you need (a hot shower and a bed) at an affordable price.

Good location: facilities need care”

I write this review primarily for those who might be particular. The IVBH is quite run down and there are a number of things that cannot be enjoyed fully that they list as amenities because of it. As I read elsewhere the pool has algae, as well as the hot tub was a very odd color green. No one used the pool, but a few travelers hopped in the hot tub, so it is still functional. The hot tub areas outdoor furniture is falling apart or the cushioning is moldy. I planned to use the oven; on my tour I was told there were two, come to find the built-in was broken and the stand alone oven was so old the temperatures weren't displayed. Other travelers mentioned the pool tables cues were so terrible it was basically pointless to play. On another note, there was also only one tea towel for the two nights I was there for all of the kitchen, I didn't think to ask for a new one, but it should be provided. Overall, I thought much more highly of the staff and the location is definitely great, but I don't think this place rates anywhere near an 8 and that's ok, as long as future travelers know what they are getting for their money.

Very nice staff, clean and a good value of the money. We had a township tour with molo tours which u can book there, it was very good

Short but sweet stay. Manager reminded me in morning to have breakfast. Wonderful place! will definitely return :)

Miss leading”

What i saw on internet as per the room i paid for was different from what i witnessed, very tiny room that i could hardly move. They could not change the room because that was the last room so i left without sleeping even though i had paid for two night. Was told i can not be refunded because i paid through an agent (Agoda). I was really told breakfast was not included on arrival before i saw the tiny room.

Old furniture and dirty”

Everything was dirty and filthy. They not really take a lot of effort to keep the hostel comfortable to stay at. The location would be actually quite good. But we didn't enjoy our night there.

Please do better”

I went in and checked out after 30 minutes to go look for a proper place. The linen was stinking, the shower drain was slow, the shower ponded while i was showering... not a great experience at all.

Acceptable”

No cushions on settee or chairs, no coffee / tea facilities, no breakfast, no blinds / curtains on bathroom frosted windows

Extremely Bad arrived From Durban at 9pm to find no one at reception and No Contact Number.The Confirmation said Reception closes at 10pm.Contact number given by a guest and it went unanswered.After Numerous Calls and Standing outside the Property with My Husband and 2 Kids.We had to leave and Look for other accomadation.Highly Disappointed.

The facility was ok , I take my hat off to the hostess, she treated us very well and so professional, However the NOISE ..... WAS HORENDOUS, HARDLY SELPT AND NOISE STARTS IN THE EARLY HOURS OF THE MORNING.
