About this property

Description

A boutique-styled historical building built in 1887, The Russell Hotel is located near most of the things people come to Sydney to see. The Royal Botanical Gardens, the famous Circular Quay, the historic Rocks district, and the Sydney Harbor Bridge are all easily accessible from the front entrance of this quaint building. For an interesting day out that will certainly result in a story or two, be sure to check out BridgeClimb, where visitors actually climb the Sydney Harbor Bridge and are rewarded with stunning 360-degree views of the harbor and city. A world of restaurant and dining opportunities await just steps from the lobby. An out-of-the-ordinary accommodation, The Russell Hotel is a great find in a prime location.

1st Time to stay in a Shared Bathroom Accommodation
So I am a bit adamant to book hotel rooms where I don't have my own Bath & Toilet Facilities but Accommodation prices in Sydney pushed me to do it! Compared to other hotels around Circular Quay, The Russell's Double room with Shared Baths was the cheapest. We got a room on the 2nd floor, above the bar but we barely hear any noise from downstairs. We had to share a bath and a toilet with 2 other rooms, plus the Hotel lobby staff but we never had to wait for our turn. We actually never saw the people in the other 2 rooms but we know they are there. The included breakfast was fabulous. there was bread, cereals, yoghurt & fruits. staff were nice and we always find chocolates on our pillows when we get back to our rooms. PS: our room did not have airconditioning and only had a ceiling fan. We stayed in late Spring where the days were quite hot. Luckily, it was comfortable at night.

Fantastic Hotel
Great hotel to book if you are looking at exploring Sydney. Hotel amenities are superb(Molton Brown) products. Friendly receptionist as well. Only negative would be there is no airconditoner and noise at the bar last maybe until 10pm which is too late already if your tour the following day leaves at 7am and you came from a long flight

The Russell steps back in time
Its character, its location - the Rocks, it's where we spent our wedding night 25 years ago
The lady at reception, Maxine, was positively delightful, so helpful and accommodating. The room was spacious and comfortable. There were no serious issues to speak of and the complimentary chocolates were a nice touch. All round, well done, we'll be back for our 50th!
