Perfect for peaceful contemplation”
Earlier reviews have already covered they key points about this resort, but it's worth noting again: this is a small yet beautiful resort in an out-of-the-way location. As long as you know what to expect going in and it matches what you're looking for, you should have an excellent stay. I wanted somewhere quiet and peaceful, and that's just what the Sea House Beach Resort offered. I was upgraded to a beach-view villa (Tiger Prawn) because I was the only guest when I arrived on a rainy Sunday afternoon, and was very impressed by how nice the villa was. I did a bit of work while there, and the free wireless Internet worked very well during my stay. There was a good selection of DVDs to enjoy on the rainy days during my visit, which was good as the only English TV channel was Al Jazeera, which can get a bit repetitive. The hotel's pool is quite tiny, but pleasant for soaking in on a hot afternoon with a beautiful sea view in front of you. The restaurant is also tiny, but with the candle-lit tables, nice soft music and sound of waves crashing on the beach, it is a very romantic and peaceful spot to enjoy a meal. The food (lunch and dinner) was of quite a good standard, and I especially enjoyed the Thai dishes. It's certainly not cheap (I probably spent per meal), but the portions were quite large and I was always very satisfied afterwards. Also, had I been there with others, we easily could have shared some of the dishes that I otherwise ended up eating myself, so the cost per person would probably be lower if there are two or more of you. As long as you go in prepared for such costs, then you can just focus on enjoying your meals and your stay.

Detox location with great service! ”
booked this hotel as i saw that it was within my budget. but like what the others say, if you are looking for a great location to all the attractions, this is not the place for you. located at had yao (40 mins away from krabi town, and even further from ao nang), there's basically nothing to do in the resort. which makes it perfect for a detox session. spent 2 nights in my room watching dvds after dvds and having in room dining. went out on the second day to do some island hopping (4 island tour) and coz i was to be picked up at 7am (breakfast starts at 7.30am), the guy packed a sandwich for me to bring along. super thoughtful! no doubt they can't really speak good english and even simple sentences could get them confused, i had to take my hats off to them for fulfilling all my requests and even going the extra mile from packing breakfast for me to giving me suggestions where i can go. rooms were in villa terms, and i stayed in turtle (furthest from the beach, nearest to the lobby) but having a bathtub in the room (read: room. not toilet) was definitely a plus. =) a good place to chill and be alone with your thoughts. =)

Quiet resort, great for chilling out and relaxing”
resort is located at had yao beach, which is far from ao nang. a taxi trip to ao nang could cost baht. furthermore, there are no eateries, nor entertainment around the vicinity. the plus point is that the resort provides daily free trips, which are different each day, depending on the itinerary, to krabi town / tiger cave / kayaking / ao nang. as there were no eateries around, we had to order dinner from them. food is great and the price is reasonable. remember to bring a mosquito coil there, the insect problem can be quite bad. overall a great relaxing place.

Incredible service, amazing villa”
The staff was amazing at the Sea House, very kind and helpful. Matt, in particular was a true joy. Our villa, Lobster, with its own pool, was spacious and private with a beautiful view of the sea. The hotel's restaurant serves really great, fresh, food; we tried most of the menu during our stay and loved everything. The free trips from the hotel were a treat although the "aquarium" was weird and a little sad. Sadly there is an enormous amount of garbage lining the beach in front of the hotel and the sea was not swimmable while we were there. It was unclear if this was due to recent storms or if this is always the case, but it is very tragic and sad and of course not the fault of the hotel. There are so many great excursions to amazing beaches nearby and all the amenities and kindness at the hotel almost make up for not being able to swim in the ocean at a beach front hotel.

Beach house by the sea”
It was the perfect getaway haven for a small family. You'll get a mini beach house and yard with an outdoor shower and an indoor tub in a spacious room. very nice staff, food was good (thai and western), wonderful fruit platters and smoothies. Very beautiful beach front although you can't swim in it, it was nice to take a stroll along the beach and pick some seashells. Breakfast was very good. Dinner I only had Thai food from their menu and I find it not spicy enough like the usual Thai food I liked, I guess it was made to cater to more western palette. Hotel has shuttle that takes u to different parts of Krabi, one site per day, so def check and find out which is the place of the day. Pretty far from town, secluded, but we enjoyed the watching the local way of life during out rides into town. You'd see monkeys, cows and goats, scenic mountains and rocky back drops, temples and budda statue etc. Booked the phi phi island tour through the hotel, got dropped off on the side rd to transfer into a tour truck, rode in the back of the truck like a local, which was fun. After another destination pickup, the truck was cramped, reminded me of construction working packed in the back of a truck picked up to do a paint Job. All in all, it was a fun experience, def raw, but you get to immerse with the culture and he locals. He hotel did pack us yummy sandwiches for breakfast so that was a plus. The mosquitoes really got to me toward the end of my trip as my poor daughter got bitten so many times. But I was told it was just this time because of the rain. Staff spoke limited English, but they are super nice. All in all, we loved it and would visit again, cuz daughter was so happy and adult could truly relax without the hustle and bustle of town. Not recommended for yound singles.

Sleepy hotel in a sleepy town”
stayed here for two nights after a busy trip to railay area. didnt expect it to be this quiet, but we realised we werent even talkin loudly while havin our meals cos you dont really have to! ours was the starfish room, huge and comfy n clean n a bathtub right in the room itself! tip, bring some mozzy spray as they are quite abundant, but only if you were at the eating area. also, the menu pricing is average, not too high n not cheap either. but its worth it as it really is very good and reminds you of homecooked meals. special mention to "mat", who checked us in, brought us ice whenever we asked for it, took us from our room to our seat at dinner and breakfast, arranged the bike rental and even charged us half price since we got back early from riding around, and overall very friendly guy whom you can definitely find out more about had yao from.

Nice Rustic Getaway !”
we had planned for a 4 days stay at a nice resort & we got it! our villa is located within steps from the beach. beautiful beach front although we could not swim in it (partly due to the rainy season).the room was spacious & clean with a cozy feel and neither of us had any bad experience to share on mosquitoes or insects bites during our stay there. breakfast was very good. dinner offered on the menu had limited choices but was very nice and had large servings. do check with with the front desk staff on the free shuttle service to tour the town areas on certain days of the week. you can also book for the various sight seeing tours from the front desk. quite a distance from town areas (approx 45 mins drive to nearest town area) but we wanted a quiet cozy place to chill out at night and don't mind venturing out during the day around town. the resort staff were a nice & friendly lot which made our stay there really pleasant, especially the front desk manager - matt ( if you're reading this matt, thank you once again ! ). bottom line- if you are looking for a nice, quiet & cozy place to rest & rejuvenate in a rustic setting this is the place for you. will definitely be back again !

Lovely resort in a remote area”
We had a nice stay at the Sea house beach resort. The room was spacious and clean. The swimming pool is small but nice for relaxing. The food is good but limited choice. It is lost in the middle of nowhere along the sea : we had to take a taxi (600 baths) to get there as there is no local bus going there. It is a nice place to relax and the staff was really kind despite they're limited english. We enjoyed the free trip to Krabi town and Tiger cave !

Lovely little resort by the beach”
I was pleasantly surprised to find out my room to be so big with its own little garden and outdoor bathtub which makes u feel really close to nature. As the setup of the resort was really small, the restaurant by the beach was particularly cosy. The resort is located next to villages n if u like animals, u will get to c goats in the morning and cows in the evening by the beach. Very interesting.

Excellent Oasis of Peace in Krabi”
This resort is fantastic if you are tired of Ao Nang's and Railay tourist trap. Over here, you will not spot any another tourist except for the 8 other rooms' guests. When I was here on the first day, I was the only other guest there. Even when the place is fully occupied on my second day, service is still exceptional and they cater to your every need. We needed wine at 11pm after the restaurant closed and managed to locate a service staff who promptly helped us fulfil our request without complaint. This place is absolutely charming if you like quiet places. However getting to town is about an hour away. An excellent place to relax and recharge; they even provide a library of DVDs and books which you can enjoy at your own leisure. To enhance your experience here, I suggest that you bring your own wine/ alcohol. The only drawback is their limited F&B options. There is only one restaurant, but the thai dishes are pretty well-executed. I had an amazing stay.

Amazing pool villa and friendly staffs”
We have spent our valentine in this hotel, Pool villa. This is the best villa i have ever stayed. Huge room with bath tub, private swimming pool overviewing the sea, nice room decoration & layout with the private beach just at your door step. I will definitely stay here again for my next trip.

Cosy Hotel”
when we first reached the hotel we were shocked. it wasn't exactly what we expected. the hotel was good but it was not as good as the pictures depicted online. it was supposed to be new and bright and a refreshing getaway, but it was leaning towards the rundown side instead. having said that, the hotel is still relatively new even though it doesn't exactly look it at first sight. we were booked into seahorse room which was cosy and the bed was extremely comfortable!! don't leave the door open for too long though as mosquitos will fly in, the best is to bring insect repellent of some sort. there is a very small rectangle of private beach at the hotel where the sand is nice and you can lounge around, but some parts of it are infested by mosquitos as well. the beach at had yao is sadly very dirty and brown, totally unappealing. the water is not clear as well, not like the water you can get at phiphi of railay. the staff is extremely friendly and was one of the plus points at our stay there. also the privacy you have is another big plus point as there are only 9 villas and when we were there during the peak season only 5 were occupied. there are a few things to do when you are at had yao (very few things) 1) canoe - its free and there's only one canoe but no one used it when we were there. 2) watch movies - there is a selection of dvds that you can borrow at the reception. it was raining most of the time when we were there so thats what we did. 3) cycle - free of charge

Lovely big rooms, very quite resort.”
This is a nice hotel, the room was massive and very nice for what we paid! The only problem was we seemed to have a rat running around inside the coving all night! The resort is dead we only saw about 10 people over the 2 days we spent there, there is no bar and the restaurant is 4 or 5 tables outside, but the food was good and u can eat in your room. There is a pool and 2 canoe's, and miles and miles of empty beach (lots of litter) but apart from that nothing. We got very bored! Don't let this put you off though, just come prepared with a hire car as its a good 30 mins from Krabi city centre, and taxi will cost around 700b each way. Overall it's a nice place to stay if u just want to relax!

great rooms but poor service”
My friend and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights 3 days. We picked this over the Beach house as it seemed more quiet and had a beachfront swim area (this was the last leg of my 3 week trip so I wanted to rest). The room was fantastic. A door leading to a front area then to the entrance of the room. The front area had a small breakfast table area, and a bathtub outside with some greenery for setting.Room with TV and DVD player, AC etc and a bathroom then leading to an outdoor shower. The hotel itself is great - sets a relaxing honeymoon environ, great kitchen/rest staff, however, the reception/concierge is EXTREMELY lacking. if it is past 5pm, don't expect anyone to be there. We had to get the kitchen staff to call them on mobile. When the free wi-fi (accessible throughout property including hotel room)was broken, I told them and they couldnt trouble shoot. I said it didnt work and they said it worked on their phone so he doesn't know what he should do. Keep this in mind. Although I do wonder if this hotel is staffed more appropriately when it is during high travel season. Also - don't expect any swimming here, the beach is horrible with a lot of trash. If they fixed it, it can do much better with families and such who visit.

Very nice staff and hotel, but had bird problems”
The hotel is quite far away from the krabi airport. It is about 700 baht for a taxi ride from airport to the resort. Renting a car is about 1400 baht, even after including GPS. So we decided to rent a car. The room was all right. But there was a very loud, very irritating bird sound for a large part of our first night. After informing the staff, they said that the bird was not inside the room but that it was in fact outside. So they did not do anything about it. On the 2nd night, the noise actually got worse as the bird continued throughout the night. Still nothing was done. As we were checking out already, we just decided to ignore it and leave. Other than that, the environment was very peaceful and staff were friendly, though many of them have poor conmmand of english. They only depend on 1 or 2 staff for English. The cheap price is probably due to its remote location. However, it is a good tradeoff if you are planning to rent a car anyway. Krabi is also reasonably small to explore by car. Thus, the car came in useful when we were doing our exploring.

Quiet but far from town”
There are less than ten rooms in the resort, and the restaurant we had our breakfast overlooks the Andaman Sea. There is a swimming pool in the dining area itself. I never see anyone use the pool, reason being the beach is just a few steps away. We were staying in the Turtle room. The room is quite big with a king sized bed and another day bed at the other corner. The bathtub is separated from the rain shower and toilet, but the bathtub is right below the aircon. We didn't use the bathtub because we thought the location is kinda strange. For the first two days we were at Krabi, it was raining non stop. And the ceiling in the shower and toilet was leaking. Not much issue for me since the rain stop on the second day.

Beautiful rooms, great for relaxing ”
The rooms were well designed and provides a comfortable and relaxing environment. Rooms were large and includes a nice hot tub. The pool faces the sea and is great for watching the sun set, which is a beautiful sight. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The whole experience was very enjoyable and the resort is a fantastic place for a quiet getaway. Will definitely be back again!

Quiet hotel, great for relaxing”
very peaceful resort. excellent place to relax. i strongly recommend this hotel for couples and that needs privacy and isolation. if you want nightlife and action, this hotel not for you. the staff were very friendly and helpful. the room was nice and clean and it was near to the pool and beach. only the beach is very dirty.

Nice but middle of no where”
The Sea House Beach Resort has 9 individually designed villas that provide utmost privacy. The staff were friendly yet only the manager and the assistant manager could speak english which made it a little tricky to communicate once the manager had finished his/her shift. The resort is needs a proper restaurant as not all guests can dine at th same time. The pool was too small. Also there is no bar at the resort. The location too is a bit incovenient. The resort is ideal for people who want to escape from civilisation and enjoy the serenity. The hotel administration should work to add other activities for guests to enjoy. However, the manager and staff are always willing to assist and went out of their way to locate a lost laptop.

Great Resort, Very Good Price!”
The Resort is loocated directly at the beach. We havent seen any other guests or tourists around, the place is very lonely or romantic (depending on your point of view). Actually the resort is the perfect place for a romantic weekend. Just two things we didnt like: 1. The Pool was full of chemicals. No way to use it at all. Very disappointing! 2. The Beach was super dirty, full of trash and plastic (from the sea).
