    Ouch - The price....”

At 200 GBP a nice, I was expecting more. However, I never stayed above a pub in a quiet British town before so.... The two guys at check in were helpful with the bags to the rooms, except the left the heaviest bag at the bottom of the steps for me to carry. Okay. Overlooked. Tried to go down to the front desk in the event to see about a cot (side bed). Nobody there. Tried to call when back in the room, 3 times fail.. The location is good on the main street and the pub/bar/restaurant downstairs is likely the liveliest in the city, which also means drunken folk late into the evening. I heard the lady manager telling one 30-something mail "I don't want you here" All in all, we enjoyed ourselves at the sheep

Nice small hotel but the room is too tiny with tiny bed”

The hotel is nice. It's newly renovated. The staff is nice. The location is good with so many restaurants nearby. However, the room is clean but way too small and the bed is tiny. Two people cannot really fit in one double bed. The ceiling is too low. There is no refrigerator in the room. Everything else is good.

Beautiful hotel and location, With the thinnest walls ever! ”

Pros: beautifully decorated Cosy warm rooms Friendly staff Great location. Cons: if you plan on sleeping don’t stay here...they have the thinnest walls we have ever known in a hotel. It sounded like the people in the room next to us were in our room. We could hear every word, cough and kettle boil and could even tell what they had on the tv (and they weren’t being particularly loud). As well as being woken at 5am to the sound of the people above us. In addition to this we had to phone reception at 1135pm to ask them to turn off the music in the restaurant below as it was vibrating our room with the bass. If you plan on eating make sure you book the restaurant in advance as they get very busy on weekends and so do the surrounding restaurants in stow. Overall we would not recommend as a hotel but a nice place to visit for a drink/some food

    Great hotel”

The hotel is very centrally localted, within a 3 minute walk to the mains square. The room was beautiful and included a kettle and an espresso machine, which is very helpful. Staff were lovely and very attentive. The hotel has its own restaurant which is one of our reasons to choose it (we were afraid of the bad weather and wanted to make sure to have one right by us). Despite having a reservation made and arriving on time, several of the items in the menu were unavailable, and as we took longer to decide what to order (as half the menu was not available), we were told to rush with our order as the kitchen was closing. We were also turned away when wanting to sit down for just a coffee on a rainy afternoon, which defeats the purpose of choosing this place for us. The hotel is lovely and staff very attentive, but the restaurant experience was very disappointing, scpecially when this was a major factor for us when booking (food was actually very good)

Breakfast was not included in the price . At breakfast the fried bread was inedible (thick granary bread was used!) and the eggs were over done . Unable to get into or out of bed without ducking to avoid ceiling.

    Excellent location”

Booked thro an agent who offered a reduced rate. Process of arrival and departure carried out efficiently. The room, whilst at the back of the property, overlooked a small patio area and was quiet, as I had requested. The room was spotlessly clean with a mixture of modern and shabby chic furnishings. I cannot comment on the food as I was not wishing breakfast but the dining room looked modern and welcoming. I would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area, the hotel is attractive and located right across the road from the shops and coffee houses.

Lovely hotel & restaurant - just check your room booking!”

This is a really lovely Hotel in a fab location. Contemporary decor, soft, clean linen and comfy beds. Only slight complaint - having booked a standard double online with Agoda it stated ‘courtyard’ outlook not street. However when we arrived told that was wrong as all standard rooms overlook the road. Wanting a quiet room we were moved to a room at the very top which was quiet but a small, not standard, size so we paid for a bigger room than we were given. The restaurant & bar are obviously really popular with locals (always a good sign) and we enjoyed a perfectly cooked meal, even if the menu is a little bit ‘ordinary’. Would return but will book directly & specify a room before booking!

Thought charge for cooked breakfast of £10 extra each plus £10 extra each for buffet breakfast ie toast cereal yoghurt fruit or any one of above , a bit steep. I was informed just prior to sitting down to breakfast that the breakfast wasn't included in my booking . Though the website says it is. I also emailed hotel twice to ask about this , but had no reply. The waitress told me at breakfast that cooked breakfast

    Practically Perfect in Every Way”

Incredibly kind and helpful staff, comfortable room with homemade buicuits, fantastic bath, accommodating team, great food and lovely breakfast...it is fantastic how above and beyond the team at the Sheep went to make our weekend extra special!! It is now my place to stay in the area; I will not be convinced to go anywhere else. The room itself was on the top floor and was stunning. I can’t be any more positive and I am a discerning (my partner might call it fussy..!) woman. Perfect stay. Perfect weekend. Thank you!

    Fantastic experience”

This is the perfect place to station yourself for a Cotswolds visit. From the exceptionally friendly and welcoming staff to the accessibility and private parking lot, Sheep has it all. My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights last week and were very happy with every facet of the hotel. The breakfast is not to be missed. It has fresh pastries, tangy fruit compote, coffee, yogurt, fresh fruit, and juice. That's just the start because you get a hot plate of food, as well. Eggs Benedict with salmon, bacon, or many other hot choices. After fueling for the day, we got into our rental car safely parked in their private parking lot behind the hotel and hit the road to explore the Cotswolds. When we returned to the hotel, we parked and walked right across the quaint street to a 10th century pub for a beer (or two). After enjoying England's local brews, we headed back to the hotel to sample their vast array of local gins with perfectly paired tonics. The room has been recently updated and offered us a very comfortable place to sleep, watch TV, read, and relax over a cup of tea or coffee. I caught a cold earlier in our trip so we also visited the local pharmacy which was very helpful in providing me with some very effective cough medicine. Sheep on Sheep Street is the Mary Poppins of hotels; "practically perfect in every way". We highly recommend it. Enjoy Stow and the Cotswolds!
