Worst hotel in port blair”
If you want to smell stinking fish and waste your money on this hotel so this is the best hotel in port blair. In there so called staff there is a convoy of two persons in which one sits at reception and the other one do everything cooking to cleaning toilets. U guys spoiled my trip.

Very good”
The hotel has very good view of the sea from its balcony or the sea facing rooms. Its a 4 room kind of apartment of which each of the rooms are shared on twin sharing basis. The rooms are very clean and spacious. Staffs are very co-operative. We didn't have food over there. So cannot comment on the cuisine part. Not far from the main market too. You can easily get auto to reach the main market area around 2kms far. The best part was the value for money. You cannot get any such hotel in Port Blair in such a decent price. Highly recomendable for those who are not looking for any 5* luxury but want a very pleasent stay at a very decent price.

This room is the best....with best view and so windy that u just wanna chill in the balcony.....the surrounding area is nice and quiet ...best is to have your own bike...coz u won't find much transport around.....also need to walk up the stairs till 2nd floor...but I don't think that is a bad thing.....yup for very old people it Wil be difficult...and few people who will want to walk to trek to great heights but complain about walking the stairs.....cheers....

Nice place to stay...”
it is a nice place to stay with affordable rate. Though they do not have fully functional in house kitchen but they get the food on order and it taste good. breakfast is nice and home made ..could have increase quanity. there are only two sea facing rooms are there so better to book them before. things to consider .. it is on 2nd floor and has no lift. Overall it is nice stay if you are planning to roam around in day time.

Great Location ”
Great for a night or two. Comfortable stay although for European, remember this is India, so the bed is smaller than you'd find at home. It's more a double, so if you're a bigger couple, not so comfy. The honeymoon suite is the the same as the other rooms apart from the balcony which overlooks the sea. Breakfast is omlette and toast (fried bread) but if you wait until after eight, you can request Indian breakfast. Poori and sabji masala which was nice. The organisation and greeting/Check in procedure is more organised than Barefoot on the floor below.

Pros: Ranjith 9932567242 He is like an one man army who can help you out with anything you wanted He helped with each and everything. He treated us like a family If you don't believe me look at the reviews for this hotel "The Shelter" you'll understand Rooms make you feel you're at your home. Staff also so friendly. Must visit this place if you going to stay at portblair Other important Pro's: Place is very near to Jetty which will take you to North bay island, Ross Island and corby cove beach. Also its close to many other city tour places like museums, airport and many other places. You've a view of ocean from the balcony Ranjith helps you in booking anything... I mean it. He tells you the truth about each and everything just ask him thats enough Con's: You'll get attached to this hotel if you stay for more than one night 😂 If you've any questions you can contact Ranjith directly instead of calling their landline which is answered by call center.

Home away from home”
We booked 3 rooms ( 2 honeymoon suites) for us, my brother and his wife and my mum and mother-in -law. It was indeed a very pleasant stay at the Shelter. Staff was very helpful and we got food cooked to order especially fresh fish from the morning catch just outside the hotel. It was like a home stay. I would recommend it to any one.

Simple , Clean, friendly place. More of a home stay rather than a hotel”
Located in a prime area near to major tourist activities of port blair. Very friendly and helpful manager who helped us throughout the trip to book a couple of tickets (Ranjith: 99-32-567242) . The cook Mr.Ramu was a very warm person too. The location doesnot looks quite like it's shown in the picture , still it was not a disappointment . Overall it was a pleasant experience.
