apart from the location which is not convenient for many travelers I have only one criticism. That is, the hotel should upgrade its TV sets.

The Jewel of the Bangkok's Exclusive River Hotels”
for those interested in boutique top-end luxury, there is no comparison for the siam. this spectacular river hotel has been furnished with thai antiques and the finest furniture, designs that money can buy. the hotel has a quiet regal feel with tons of space and few people. it is over the top romantic. river rooms for meals are actual jim thomson houses. there are plunge pools in private villas that are fitting of royalty. the fitness center, gym and health club is the finest i have seen, with a full boxing ring. dining is excellent, and every detail of the hotel is unique, and one of a kind. this is a hotel for those who can afford it, and want the quiet exclusivity of a high-end hotel. the neighborhood is convenient for temples, river restaurants, but will take some time into the town center with traffic. if you have older people who have trouble getting around, make sure to choose the rooms in the main wing, and take your time walking around the grounds. if you are on your honeymoon or want a romantic getaway in bangkok, you need not ever leave this hotel. i can't possibly tell you all the little gems, special features of this hotel. if you can afford it, i would book it. agoda had a great rate on this hotel and i'm guessing the price will rise over time as popularity increases.

Aman in Bangkok”
staying at the Siam is an unique experience, not only because it is so magnificently designed and fitted out, and the very high quality of service and attentiveness - but because it is located in a very old part of the city, near some beautiful temples, palaces and walks, but otherwise quite inaccessible from the shopping malls and bustle of Bangkok we know so well. this is Bangkok of the noble classes, weather permitting, Khao San is reachable on foot, but via streets lined with ministries and government buildings, these parts sleep and quieten very early in the evening. Silom is a 30 min ride away on a beautiful hotel boat ride on the Chao Phraya - so The Siam and her isolation gets you into a very different rhythm very quickly away from the pace of the city. although you are still in Bangkok, it feels like you've traveled to Ayuthaya or Sukhotai

Intimate and Beautiful Hotel, most attentive staff ever!!”
Uh we're do I start? The personal butler was just amazing! Sumet was always there for us, planning our day, recommending incredible restaraunts, just basically whatever we needed and also what we didn't know we needed, he was amazing! The hotel has such a personal and intimate feeling because it is not packed full of people like other 5 star options. 1. They have their own river boat transport free of charge 2. The laundry service was quick and very nicely done 3. They even give you an IPhone to use when your exploring Bangkok 4. The Siam suite was so comfortable and spacious 5. The hotel will schedule all of your taxi needs which actually saves you a lot of money because if you get your own you will be overcharged 6. I could go on but running out of words. Just spend the money and treat yourself to The Siam Hotel, it was just amazing, also listen to all of their recommendations because they were spot on! Thanks Siam team and thanks so much to Sumet!! ~ Dan/Yolanda

Gorgeous Hotel & Wonderful Staff”
The Siam Hotel is excellent - an urban luxury retreat set along the river. The Art Deco design, black and white decor, amazing collection of Southeast Asian Chinese art and artifacts, and of course, the professional, knowledgeable and friendly staff set it far apart from Bangkok and other hotels around the globe. Special recognition should be given to Wave - he was especially skilled, intelligent and always courteous.

We stayed at The Siam Hotel for a weekend to relax and celebrate our wedding anniversary. The design of teh hotel is fantastic, with great attention to detail on all rooms and also throughout teh common spaces. The riverside pool is perfect for relaxing and the museum-like articles throughout teh hotel are fascinating. All the rooms look fantastic, especially the pool villas.

Stylish comfort in an urban oasis ”
As someone who has stayed in a number of 5 stat hotels in the US, UK and Italy but a first time visitor to Asia, I was struck by the high level of the service and attention to detail, not to mention the friendly open atmosphere and the kind and gracious manners of everyone we met that worked in The Siam Hotel. I would welcome the chance to return and will enjoy fond memories of our all too short weekend stay. Thank you Mr. Jason Friedman and Jil, our wonderful butler and all of The Siam Hotel family.

Very stylish and convenient travel by boat, food is exceptional”
If you require d a private and quiet break, then this is the best hotel for you. The design is good and the food they serve is one of the best in town. But if you are going to go to the market even late at night then it will be very inconvenient. Most of the time I will use their boat during the day time until 10 pm and you will say no more traffic jam in Bangkok. The is my choice of hotel in Bangkok and will definitely go back again and again.

Best Hotel I've ever been”
I was very impressivee about this hotel. I used to live in Bkk, but I didn't know about this hotel. My wife told me the siam hotel is the best in Bkk, so I booked. Definitely the hotel is the best I've ever been and seen. Excellent room condition, decoration, and hotel interior. Staffs are very kind more than I've experienced before from the other hotels

Unique hotel with special features”
We had a lovely stay. There are many nice things to say about the hotel. It is really small, so it definitely does not feel crowded. The staff are excellent. My main complaint is like some other reviewers the overall feel of the standard room given the total lack of view. The only windows are in the bathroom. So the main bedroom section has 0 windows, which gives a too closed in feel. The architecture is very respectful of the location. Of course the owners could have chosen to build a higher rise with views from more rooms, but I am glad they did not. But somehow no windows in the main room is a bit harsh. If you are going to spend over 400 dollars on a room, you might as well spend over 500 and get a room with some windows at least. Or go for the Peninsula or the Oriental with river view for 350 dollars. The collections in the library and film rooms are great. Breakfast is small, but good. Only complaint was the coffee at breakfast which was totally watery, but the cappuccino and the macchiato. Quite surprised and a bit disappointed. The boat ride to the hotel is great.

Amazing and superb. Surpassed every expectation”
Quite possibly the best hotel I've ever stayed in, and I have stayed in hundreds of hotels, including Amanresorts, W Hotels, Four Seasons, Mandarin Orientals. Bill Bentley designed hotel. Art deco designed. It's a new hotel that has managed instill an Old World feel about it with its design, proportions and decor. The owner is a famous jazz singer in Thailand and her father one of the pioneering businessmen in Thailand, who was General Electric's distributor. She has a large collection of antiques, and these have been seamlessly worked into the decor of the hotel so that the hotel is like a living museum. There's a working cinema with antique wooden seats and projectors, juxtaposed with a fully-equipped modern gym with a full muay thai boxing ring in it! I'm a gym rat and this is definitely the best hotel gym I've ever seen (or for that matter read about). And the design of the gym has not been forgotten and worked into the art deco design. The rooms are huge with 2 separate seating areas, huge beds with incredibly comfortably pillows and duvets, and a large bathroom with a standalone tub. And all of the modern conveniences are included. The attention to detail is incredible. Staff service is very personalised. The hotel has the charm of a luxury boutique hotel, but doesn't allow you to feel like you are in a small boutique hotel. I can't find enough superlatives to describe this gem of a hotel. I will most certainly be back. Again. And again,, And again.
