            Excellent guesthouse”

The Sixty is a delightful building on a small lane set back from a busy street directly opposite the Historical park. Many of the sites are in walking distance. There is a night market two blocks away with some excellent street food. The room I had is in very good condition, comfortable and very clean, with a comfortable bed and aircon. The ensuite bathroom was also very clean, with a good water heater and plenty of pressure. There are two channels playing b grade movies in English on the tv. Ch 99 and 100 The women who run the guesthouse are very nice and extremely helpful. They got me out of a jam when my motorbike broke down an hour north of Ayutthaya, where no one spoke a word of English. I don't know how things would have gone for me without their help, making phone calls and arranging transportation. Not good I'm sure. Do not hesitate to book the Sixty. You will have no regrets.

            Charming, comfortable and clean”

The Sixty exceeded my expectations. It's not luxurious, but is genuinely charming, comfortable and clean. The Sixty was one of the highlights of my short visit to Ayutthaya and I would happily stay again. I had a deluxe double room - the bedroom is very small, but the private balcony is huge and refreshing. The balcony space also houses the en-suite toilet and shower around the corner from the sitting area. Keep in mind ths is a converted shophouse, so it has limited soundproofing. Knowing that going in, I wasn't bothered by it though. The location is right across the road from the start of the historical park sites, and there is food nearby. I chose to explore on foot, which was only possible because of the good location. If I did it again, I would use a bicycle. The Sixty has some, and several places nearby also rent them. The staff are very welcoming and speak enough English to point you in the right direction. When I checked in, they set me up with a useful map, and marked some key sites (including the nearby night market - great food options there).

            Fantastic Stay”

Friendly & Helpful Staff, Location, Breakfast

The stay at the Sixty was great, we as 23-year old Americans really enjoyed it. Close proximity to everything you would want to do in Ayutthaya. The best way to see the town is on a bicycle, and you can easily reach any restaurant and central attraction in less than 10 minutes by bike. The hotel itself has a cool, teak interior with some interesting decorations. Rooms were clean and simple - A/C, a few drawers, decent bed. Coffee and snacks upstairs when you wanted it. I would definitely recommend staying here. Safe travels!

Low-key, artsy gem with Wat views”

Location, warm reception and funky decor

We loved our stay at the sixty. The location couldn't be beat, right across the street from the more famous, must-see temples. There was a great little breakfast and coffee place out front. Spacious room and even free bikes. We enjoyed that the decor was funky an artsy, clearly the owners have put special effort into making this place not your typcal thai guesthouse. It's in a more quiet part of town (which might disappoint those more comfortable with the traveler/backpacker scene but for us it was perfect and an excellent value. Even better its family run an the owners are very upbeat an welcoming. My single caveat to a glowing recommendation is that this may be a little downmarket if your accustomed to the glitzier boutique hotels; this is a step up from most guesthouses and well within budget but not luxury. Would definitely stay there again.

            Very comfortable, very welcoming”

This was my second stay at The Sixty - even had the same room. The guesthouse is very comfortable, with nice enclose outdoor spaces in the superior rooms. Toilets and showers are also out there, but very private. The staff are friendly and happy to help. Decor is unique - lots of antiques, and the more you look at them the more you learn. Great location for main sites and also the night market. Stay and enjoy!

            our stay”

            1. location 2. price 3. proximity to night market

We were so glad to see the ruins right across the street from us! It was wonderful to cross the street, go down a bit and there was the entrance! Nice to come back and rest when it was hot! The staff was very friendly and helpful with suggesting where else to visit, helped us with a motor bike rental, arranged a took-tuk for us to get to the bus station the day we left. The wifi was good. We had the smallest room, so it was a bit cramped, but it worked just fine for us as we usually aren't there much! We loved going to the night market for supper....lots of good Thai food and great prices. If you aren't hungry, its a fun place just to watch and learn about the locals. We also really really enjoyed going to the elephant karral. There are baby elephants that roam free (close to their mothers)....you can pet them and watch them play. Then in the evening about 5pm when the elephants were brought back from giving rides in the city, it was wonderful to watch them bathe in the river, carry hay to the fields with their tusks etc. Could have spent a lot of time there. We almost enjoyed it more than the ruins! But we would recommend the Sixty as a good place to stay.

            environment, service, decoration

it is such a hotel like your own home, comfortable ,relaxing and nice. it is so near the temples , you could see the temples from the windows on the second floor balcony, where you may have a cup of coffee, which is free , or have internet surfing there...if you feel tired , only few minutes walking you may get back to the hotel and enjoy the moment of relaxing... the hotel is one of the highlights of my trip to Ayutthaya, i love it so much! i have already recommanded it to several friends of mine,i hope they also have a wonderful stay there.

Such a nice place with so much charm and love for detail! We love the attraction by itself with the bicycles and antlers on the wall, antique pieces everywhere! Nice and clean and quite big room and bathroom with Thai details everywhere (sometime we think about Thai ghost story hahaha). In front of this GH is the historical ruins which is very near and walk-able in case u dont want to go to Wat chaiwatthanaram. Will booking this GH again if visit Ayutthaya next time!!

            Good choice”

Such a nice place with so much charme and love for detail! It's really special and an attraction by itself with the bicycles and antlers on the wall, antique pieces everywhere! Nice and clean and quite big room and bathroom! Perfect located right beside Wat Mahatat and Wat Ratchaburana with little cafés and restaurants close by. Not a big nightlife, yeah maybe, but normally that's not tge reason for going to Ayutthaya, no?;) Nothing to complain, thx for a nice stay with you!

            Excellent Location”

We arrived very late at night. Room was large and spacious though the decor is quite quirky and a little dark/dated. I think this is the look they were going for. Air conditioner worked well, complimentary bottles of water provided, large comfortable bed. We couldn't work out how to use the shower which is connected to the hot tub but felt it was too late at night to wake someone. In the morning, outside our room is a balcony which would have been lovely to sit and drink coffee or tea. Unfortunately there was only one coffee sachet for all the guests staying at the hotel. There was no breakfast but there is a great little cafe less than a minute away. The hotel is not on the main road but a little side street. You can see the hotel from the main road. Excellent location for the temples - its across the road and we could see them the balcony. If there is no staff at reception, just ring a bell and they'll come to reception as they are usually in another room at the back of the hotel.

            Very homey atmosphere!”

We really enjoyed our stay here. We symtayed in the standard room for about 18.00 CAD. The room has an unusual layout as the bathroom is the first room you walk into, but it's quite nice. The room is a little small, but you spend more time out and e poring anyways. Plus, they have many large public areas that you can spend your time in. They have a little area for you to have your coffee and such in the morning, or just sit out and enjoy in the evening. The guesthouse is located just across the street from Wat Maha That and the park that goes with it (Absolutely BEAUTIFUL park!). It's also just down the street from the night market, that is also a must! There are also a few restaraunts near by.

            Convenient Location”

Stayed here with a couple of buddies. We were able to get our own room for a really great price. It's walking distance to a night market and across the street from one of the main attractions to see in Ayutthaya. I'd definitely recommend this place and would stay here again.

            Close to attractions”

Close to temples, nightmarket, homey atmosphere

The guesthouse has a homey feel in it, although there was a big opening in the shower room wall next to another restroom which made us feel unsecured. There was this 780+ channel cable but none of the channels is in English. Location is good, some of the temples are walking distance, there is also a night market nearby. We did not stay in the hotel that much since we only have a one day trip in Ayutthaya. Usually, the tuktuks charge at 200B per hour, but we got lucky with tuktuk750. We were toured by the driver's son the next day to Bang-Pain which has the summer palace and we found it much nicer than the Grand Palace in Bangkok since it was not too crowded. We started at 7am and finished at 2pm touring the "outside" temples,we were supposed to be toured the whole afternoon but at the end my family & I were the ones who said enough :) The young driver has been very kind to us, has taken us to the nicest places and ensured that we got in to the mini bus back to Bangkok before he took off. All in all, we had a very great experience in Ayutthaya.

Loved this quirky little guesthouse ”

This place is perfect! Great location it’s literally opposite (2min walk) from in my opinion the best 2 temples in Auutthaya. Wat Ratchaburana and Wat MahaThat. We arrived very early from our overnight bus and the housekeeper was kind to let us in our room early to shower and sleep. So much character in the building and rooms it’s a cool vibe and lots of space. Also a 5 min walk to a night market with great street food. This is clearly not the Ritz. You want luxury pay more and stay somewhere else. This is rustic and authentic. excellent value for money we had air con, hot shower king bed and a fantastic location for a very good price. What more could anyone want. Highly recommend.

            I liked it”

A Guesthouse made entirely of wood with striking combinations between antiques and Thai chic. My room is accessed from the bathroom! 🤪 to find me on a very high bed. It is strategically located for visits to the whole archaeological area. To reach it from the station you need a vehicle like Tuc Tuc but being the whole area dotted with Guesshouse bring the well-written address maybe even in Thai even if English is commonly used. It is located in a small street that faces the main road just in front of one of the main archaeological attractions: Wat Phra Mahatat. It is also about 500 meters from one of the two Nigh Market. Around several shops for breakfasts and meals, I chose the Coffee Old City. Many suggest renting a bike for visits; but during the day there is a hot and humid tropical temperature and you have to pass also through high traffic density roads, I took a comfortable tuc tuc with 400Bath (about 10 €) for 4 hours.

            A charming guesthouse”

Charming common areas, across the road from Wat Mahathat, close to the night market.

The staff are lovely and common areas of the guesthouse were very charming and sensitively decorated with antiques and curios, and while some of this was evident in the individual rooms, the latter weren't handled with the same sensitivity. Our bedroom window looked onto the shower of the closed-in balcony and openings were covered with sheets of ply. A shame, because with a little extra care the room might have been utterly gorgeous. Maybe we were unlucky and other rooms were more successfully converted. Wat Mahathat across the road is a bonus, as is the night market with excellent dining a couple of streets down. The Tamarind guesthouse next door is friendly and will help with laundry and arranging transport.

Near town, Reasonable price, Basic Guesthouse”

Opposite Mahathat Temple, Quiet, Friendly staffs

We stayed in a family room for 4 people, bed bulk might not be suitable for people over 60 kg. AC blew directly to the bed bulk which would make you feel a little bit too cold and if you turn it down, people who sleep in the twin beds might get so warm caused AC won't reach them (bad position to install AC I would say). The guesthouse opposite Mahathat temple, you can rent a bicycle to ride around and it's not so far from the town. Near the guesthouse also have a few coffee houses and local restaurants just around the corner. Nothing negative except AC and maybe they need a bigger sign so it will be easier to find. Pro: fast internet connection, friendly staffs, allowed early check-in and fast check-out, homey guesthouse, basic bathroom with hot shower.

            Very good”

Located right across one of the temples in Ayutthaya. Another one close by. It is close to the bus/van station as well. This guesthouse might look antiquated outside but they did a good job in renovating and maintaining the rooms.

            Charming place with great view”

The hotel staff were very nice and friendly. The hotel has a lot of character with old memorabilia in the hallways and rooms. The upstairs common area has a balcony with a great view of Wat Maha That--a perfect place for coffee in the morning or afternoon tea. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable; the bathroom was quite large. And the location cannot be beat; we were able to walk to the main ruins and food markets and restaurants.

            Poor English ”

The staff spoke almost no english, was hard to communicate with them. Also very sparce information on Ayutthaya was provided or available, so not really helpful. Other than that great location, next to the temple ruins, room had everything, the bathroom was a converted balcony and very hot. Not bad cannot compare to others in Ayutthaya, but compared to rest of thailand expensive for what it provided.
