I ended up unexpectedly spending a few extra days at the Turtle because I enjoyed the environment, other guests, and staff so much. This place has a great vibe. Though I haven't stayed in the Thamel area, I know just from visiting and shopping there that I greatly prefer the quieter location of Swayambhu. The manager Pawan is incredibly helpful, and all of the staff are also friendly and great. After my initial visit, I know the ST is the only place I will stay in Kathmandu.

Really enjoyed my stay here. Glad I stumbled upon this place. Super friendly and helpful staff, and owners that are there everyday and can set you up with trekking rental gear, keep track of your trek if you want them to. Give you advice while on the trail or before. Solid common spaces allowing for guests to hang by themselves or socially. Great view from the roof! Wishing you sparkling turtles the best!!

Really great hostel. We went during the off season with very few guests, but the personel mad us feel at home and became our friends. Very cold during winter due to no central heating in Kathmandu, and there are no heaters in the room cus of safety reasons

This is one of my favorite hostels 6ve ever stayed at! Rad artwork, great location by swayambu with a view of the monkey temple from the rooftop, great chills areas, bar and restaurant, really hospitable staff. An amazing find!

Not allowed to wash clothes by yourself”
It's the first time to be told that not allowed guests to wash clothes by themselves in hostel and have to use hostel's laundry service with charge. If washing by yourself, have to pay fine for that. The hot shower sometimes is good, can be 40 degree, but sometimes 30 only. I planed to stay for one month or more, but it's too difficult to accept the rules.

Excellent staff. Decent breakfast. But the room was freezing. We stayed one week and we had to pay for a heater for every single night. Otherwise it would have been impossible to stay. The restaurant it’s ok but overpriced comparing the options outside.

Cherchant à participer à un événement sur Kathmandou j'ai posé la question du lieu à l'établissement après avoir eu un doute. Je n'ai jamais eu de réponse. La réservation n'était pas annulable donc ce n'est pas ça le problème, simplement aucune communication malgré 3 messages envoyés.
