The absolute best service!”
We were greeted by Maurice, the bellboy. His smile was as wide as the Rockies, he clearly enjoyed making our stay as comfortable as possible. This attitude reflected a culture of outstanding hospitality at the Stanley. We will definitely return.

Exceptional”
Great quirky place to stay. We loved the creeking floors, rattling windows (it was windy), it all added to the authenticity of a the Stanley. Had a superb breakfast - lovely server. All round 5* experience.

Nice historic experience ”
Hotel is Beautiful, We felt like we were stepping back in time as reading about the history of the Stanley. Definitely worth the trip to see the Stanley and a tour.

Exceptional”
I was expecting a room at the historic hotel, but ended up in a contemporary building on the hotel grounds. I didn't mind much, but I'm leaving this review because I can imagine this would be an upset to other folks.

This place is amazing!”
This hotel is amazing...the rooms are still as they were with a modern touch. The history of the building without the "Shining" story is mesmerizing. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating and the backdrop to the Rockies is the perfect touch. I would highly recommend taking the tours...both day and night. They are both full of information that the other doesn't have. There are spirits there too! I heard a little girl speak while on the 4th floor and I got to communicate with "someone" while on the 2nd floor. It was worth the trip and I'd do it again. Fantastic!

An OUTSTANDING hotel”
The views from the porch were awesome. The hotel itself is beautiful and makes you feel like you’ve stepped back to another time. The Cascades has fabulous service and food. If you book through a third party, be sure you are in the building that you actually want. I thought we were in the hotel, but when we got there we were in Aspire, which is a newer building. We managed to get that changed to the lodge which is right next to the hotel. If I ever stay again, it will be in the hotel itself.

A check on my bucket list!”
The staff is amazing here! We participated in the night tour and our guide, Kira was so energetic and knowledgable. Our server at Cascades was also incredible and topped off our night. We've been looking forward to staying here and we were definitely satisfied. The bed was comfortable and even had enough hot water to shower 4 adults. The hotel is very old and we could hear the people heavily walking above our room. That would be the only downside.

Very nice stay and the staff was exceptional ”
Checked into the hotel early with a friendly staff who was very accomodating. They took care of the room details and got us a room on the 4th floor. She explained that there were three actually hotels on the grounds and we got into the main/ original. Very helpful and friendly. Thanks again for a great experience

Not worth it”
A touristy expensive hotel. I stayed at actual Stanley Hotel Front desk and restaurant person very nice- Restaurant food at cascades - awful and very expensive - 45$ for steak and fries. Rooms - Had Junior Suite -Showerhead great! Bed comfortable - but you can’t control your room temperature- kinda yucky room for $300 - No hair dryer or iron and housekeeping doesn’t start till830 and we had National Park reservations. place was run down and you can’t go in most areas. Don’t recommend.

Ended up in the Aspire, but still great”
For the price we ended up in the newer building, The Aspire. There is the main building, which is the main attraction, and the Lodge, which has a lot of history. Room was spacious and amazing, views were gorgeous, staff were fantastic.

A busy place”
This is a beautiful hotel at a beautiful location. That said, our room was pretty small on the 4th floor, on a side with no view to speak of. The bed was soft and for nearly $300 a night, new firmer mattresses would be in order. I get that you can sell a room at any price given the demand, but kind of sub par in terms of room comfort. The other thought is we "shared" the hotel with a constant flow of tour groups through the lobby and grounds, many dozens of guests who weren't staying there. So its like you are staying AT a tourist attraction. Make sure you make reservations for dinner in advance and double check to see if your app or hostess enters the reservation properly (ours didn't).

Disappointed In Room Location”
Beware when booking through a discount site. We were stuck in a room in a newer building on the property - NOT the Stanley Hotel. The hotel site is the only way to go if it is important for you to stay where you want.

disappointed”
we had the Stanley on our bucket list and we get to the Hotel only to find out we are not staying at the Stanley Hotel but the Aspire down the street. Though new was under staffed and the keys were not working well at all. construction everywhere... we want to stay in the Historical Building and was misrepresented by this web site.

Over priced, rude staff and bad food. ”
To start off we booked group reservations 5 months in advance at THE STANLEY hotel, when we arrived we were informed that 4 out of 6 of our group would be staying at one of their affiliates not the Stanley hotel. The whole reason we booked at the Stanley was to stay at the Stanley not some other building on the property. Then we met for dinner and found a rude waitress and terrible food. I ordered a red rum drink with a double shot and was charged for two drinks, came out to $32 a drink and I ordered everyone one not knowing we would be charged for 12 drinks instead of 6 drinks with double shots. So for a terrible dinner with a few drinks we paid $789 for 6 people. Waitress can be rude all she wants because they charge you gratuity so watch out for that. It's a shame about service and food because it could have been a nice experience.

Exceptional”
Pros - beautiful, historical hotel. Cons - no a/c in the main building (original hotel). The newer buildings on property do have a/c.

Worth the travel and money”
A historic hotel that maintained its reputation and appearance from the second we got there. Every dollar is worth staying and visiting this place. Highly recommended!

Disappointed ”
We were looking so forward to staying in the Stanley Hotel after reading about all the history etc. I have never been so disappointed. Being an old building should have nothing to do with mold in tub , broken lamps barely holding together, filthy carpet, smashed bug on wall, 10 x 2 inch gap in window to outside etc etc etc. For the price was expecting perfection. Not other rooms available in Hotel. Moved over to a newer building. For 370.00 a night it compares to a 50 dallor motel out in the middle of no where. Don't waste your hard earned money like I did. I should insist on a partial refund at least. So sad.

Very good”
I would have like to know when I booked my room that I would be staying in the Aspire and not the hotel. That was disappointing. Also, the room could have used and had space for a full length mirror.

Too expensive for quality of room and amenities. ”
While the history of the hotel is fascinating and the grounds and scenery are beautiful, the rooms (in the original building) are in desperate need of updating considering they cost over 400$ a night. No room service, no daily housekeeping, broken window panes, falling curtains, faded dingy carpet, dated low end bathrooms. That describes our room (one of the more expensive available too). Would not spend the money again until I knew they’d improved the value.

Nice but could definitely use some TLC”
Beautiful hotel, lots of history ! But could definitely use some upgrading and TLC. Recommend because of the antiguity and location and of course the history, but you could hear everything in and around your rooms. Our king size bed was definitely old and sunken in. I slept okay, but my hubby did not. Overall, we made the best of it and still had fun and were happy to check this off the bucket list !
