Lovely hotel with friendly staffs”
I have a great time staying in this hotel. The Sterling Hotel is a boutique hotel. It is situated at the central of Malacca city, if is very convenient to access to most of the tourist areas in Malacca. The hotel staffs are very friendly and attentive. I love the heritage breakfast offered by the hotel. It was the best breakfast I ever had in a hotel. Besides the service, the hotel rooms are great. The room is clean, spacious and most important very comfortable bed. There is also a glass of free welcome drink for hotel guest which serve the bar situated at the balcony. I love everything about this hotel, I will certainly comes back again!
Great value from Sterling Boutique Hotel in Malacca”
My wife and I spent 4 nights in The Sterling Boutique Hotel in Malacca in mid-April 2019. Superb value at a low cost. Extremely large and bright well-appointed suite-style rooms. Jacuzzi-style bathtub-shower complicates showers though water flow excellent. Staff cheerful and helpful. Good breakfasts I attractive roof top setting. Superb location very short walk from major museums, historical points of interest, Jonker Way and Melaka River. The Sterling was highly recommended to us and we certainly will recommend it highly to any visitors to Malacca.
Highly recommended for couples”
The Sterling has provided excellent services for my boyfriend and I. We were given a complimentary upgrade to Riley room when they know that I'm planning a surprise birthday trip & it was our first time to Malacca. The room was big, comfy & pretty! Not forgetting the jacuzzi bathtub that relieve our tiredness after walking around the whole day. We even receive some complimentary tarts as welcome gift. The complimentary drink, pineapple juice, however was rather disappointing and their outdoor bar could have been better with more tables & chairs arranged for customers to chill out. Probably have some music playing in the background would have been better. The hotel manager/staff responded very quickly when we inform them about the faulty headlamp and shower head. Everything was fixed while we were out shopping. When we return back to the hotel, they even get a staff to demonstrate how to operate the jacuzzi. The breakfast has a few variety which was good enough for me, even though it is not the usual buffet style. I love the setting of the dining area, which is really classy. The hotel is about 10-15min walk to jonker street & Christ Church which is quite convenient. However, it will be pricey for a budget trip but definitely a great choice for couples who're looking for a romantic place to stay. Overall we really enjoyed the stay in here. We LOVE the room, the design of the hotel, the service & the location. Once in awhile, it's really worth to indulge in such lovely hotel. Thank you Sterling~ =)
Beautiful building in great location”
Although the hotel is located at the quiet area, it is still near to Malacca's main attractions like the Red House, Jonker and the shopping malls (near Hatten Hotel). Most staff were helpful and approachable, except for a Chinese local lady wearing a pair of spectacles at the front desk had some attitude problems. I don't think the frontline jobs suit her at all. She was impolite, wasn't courteous and seemed very impatient when we asked more questions. Her facial expression showed it all. Her understanding of English language was not good and I had to switch to speaking Mandarin with her instead. Room was clean. The only thing was the chambermaid did not clear away the access card holder left on the floor by the previous guests. When we checked-in, it was lying on the floor in our room. We kept seeing the card holder until the third day we checked out it was still there. I don't know if it is still there now... I personally prefer bathrooms installed with warm white lightings instead of LED white. Despite the unpleasant experience with the front desk lady and the rubbish in room, I would still make Sterling Boutique Hotel my choice when I visit Malacca again.
Located near Capitol Satay”
We booked two rooms with The Sterling Boutique Hotel. Located of the hotel is near Capitol Satay. 3 Mins walk to Capitol Satay if you are craving for satay celup for supper! Never ending queues Capiutol Satay though. Rooms are big and comfy. Definately 5 stars. Breakfast selection was ok. Not 5 stars standard. Curry was good! Brighton Double Room with Hot Tub: Love the hot tub, but took us awhile to figure out how to tune the water temperature. Massage effect was so-so though Riley Double Room With Spa Bath: Was given a king size bed, one sofa bed. Room size can easily fit in 4 people! or family with young kids. Love the bathtub, massage was superb!
a place of full of hearts! ”
Hotel is situated off their Little India. A quaint boutique hotel. We liked that it's such. Had eateries around and Jonker at is just around the corner. We stayed in executive double suite w jacuzzi and the family room with jacuzzi. The executive room was awesome! Great size, comfortable and the jacuzzi is on your private patio. Great for couples .Family room was a good size too and the jacuzzi is in the toilet.the kids loved both the jacuzzis in our rooms. Breakfast was simple but adequate yet delicious. Had almost the same stuff on both days. We didn't worry much as there's so much to eat in malacca anyway. During our stay we actually saw the same guy at the reception, cooking and Housekeeping and we thought our eyes were playing tricks on us. Through a staff member; apparently everyone helps out at anything when needed and even the boss is not spared. This made us appreciate every single gesture that they've made as it comes with heart and that explains for why our room was not ready when we came after 3pm to check in. So please be light in judging this hotel. Overall, we had a great stay thanks to the staff and management of sterling hotel!!
A hidden gem ”
Was pleasantly surprised from the time we were greeted at the entrance, the ease of check in, and the lovely room that welcomed us. The Sterling is 5 mins way away from the Red Fort & Jonker Street, making it extremely convenient and saved us the hassle of worrying about parking. Things that we wished could've been better: - earlier daily housekeeping (current hotel arrangement is to only start after 3.30pm) - more tv channels other than that, the hotel was a great retreat in the heart of Malacca!
Overall is good ”
Staffs are friendly and great, really helpful when me and my boyfriend couldn't figure out how to adjust the temperature for the jacuzzi. Location is quite good, just a 10 mins walk to jonker street and 2 mins walk to the famous Capitol Satay Celup. Must visit places nearby the hotel : Capitol Satay Celup because the boss is super awesome and generous, gave me and my boyfriend a lot of free food and free dessert and discounts ! If you're a drinker or you just want to chill and enjoy the night , go to the malacca river and search for " Reggae on the River " , there's this worker, Chinese guy that wears specs, he is super awesome ! Me and my Boyfriend really enjoyed our stay at Malacca thanks to the Sterling Boutique and all the awesome people in malacca !
we love this hotel”
We llove this hotel is because the location is near jonker street and very clean and quite hotel. We will come back malacca and the only choose to stay again with The Sterling boutique hotel.
really a nice hotel to stay in malacca. the location is just beside jonker walk the attractive street to visit and also at city center that close to shopping mall, historical monument/building and museum. my family also enjoy a big private jacuzzi inside the room and also night panorama view of malacca town from classic window at night. recommended hotel to stay and relax in malacca city center.
We stayed at the Sterling Boutique Hotel for our quick getaway in Melaka and were in awe with the whitewashed building especially the in-room jacuzzi tub. The kids loved it! Location wise was good too - just a mere 5-10 minute walk to the main attractions such as the Jonker Street and The Stadhuys. Simple breakfast spread but yet it was very fulfilling. Love it! 😁
Wonderful Hotel.. Great Location”
We drove there. It's a 2 hour drive from Singapore. The hotel was easy to find as it was located near Little India and the ever famous Jonker Walk. If you ever get lost, just ask the locals! Ther Stirling is a new boutique hotel just opened end 2011. 10 minutes walking distance to Jonker Walk with quaint little shops along the way. Do try the every famous capitol satay just around the corner. It opens at 5pm and snaking queues will form. Be there when it first opens to get a seat! Check in was a breeze! Rooms are clean and modern, big considering its a standard size room. The rain forest shower was appreciated and the bed and pillows were so soft and comfortable that I fell asleep almost immediately! The hotel provides umbrellas in case it rains and the service staffs at the reception happily obliged to explain the attractions to us. The free Breakfast provided on the third floor was a set meal with a few selection of local cuisins and international fare. There was even a bread basket and I was filled to the brim! overlooking the city was fantastic as portions were big. Its quite pricy at SGD $130 a night. Didnt use their facilities as I only stayed there for a night so cant comment on house keeping either. However, Im overall satisfied with this hotel and would definately recommend all to stay there. Great for a romantic getaway (book the bigger rooms with private jacuzzi) or a family holiday!
Value for money”
I very satisfied with my stay in The Sterling Boutique Hotel. The staff at the reception counter is very friendly and helpful. The room is so spacious and clean. The location is very strategy, by walking distance, we can reach Jonker street, Celup satay restaurant! definitely, I will come back to this Hotel! thumb up!!!
Going to Malacca? Stay in Sterling Boutique Hotel”
It was above my expectations for the discounted price I paid. Apart from the clean room, I found the shower so enticing after a day walk around Malacca. Location is not a problem. I just walked about 5 minutes to the city's attractions. Moreover, the room has a safety box, free wifi, fridge, and other compliments. Staff were attentive and very kind. I would come back only to this hotel once I go back to Malacca next time.
the hidden cream of crop”
At first I do not expect that there will be a nice hotel located at that area due to its surrounding. Then i realized that I was wrong at the moment i step into the hotel. there is a few staff smiling at the lobby waiting to assist anyone who entered the hotel. Basically the hotel has been nicely decorated and the ambiance is beyond your thought. The room is very well furnished and big enough to fit me and my family. The modern look shower in the restroom will help to refresh your body and mind from a long journey trip to reach the hotel. The balcony which is situated in the 2nd floor will provide you with a nice view of the historic Malacca town. The hotel also choose rather quality from variety while serving their breakfast. I will definitely choose this hotel whenever i need an accommodation in Malacca.Fully recommended.
Wonderful hotel, frienly service.”
We were pleasently surprised by this reasonably priced boutique hotel. The reception staff were welcoming and helpful, the room was clean & spacious for two people, the bathroom was wonderfully designed & the shower had four 4 jets!! first time i had seen such. I thought it amusing that we were given a drink voucher to redeem at the roof top bar, but when we went to enjoy a nice cold beer we were informed that the voucher was only for fruit juice or non alcoholic drinks. We only stayed one night at the Stirling as our holiday was based in KL, but we sincertely would have enjoyed a couple of more nights at this delightful hotel. Malacca is a must holiday destination & we would recomend to family and friends to stay at the Stirling.
A gem in the heart of Malacca”
We were happy and satisfied with our stay in The Sterling. The hotel is located within walking distance to Jonker street, the Dutch Square, A'Famosa and a few historical places, besides Dataran Pahlawan and Mahkota Parade shopping malls. Its just minutes away from the famous Capitol Satay Celup. At night, when the England-style hotel is lit up, its amazingly beautiful. The hotel has its own compound with car park (ample of parking lots for the guests), and provides breakfast (not taking the breakfast, so no comment on that). The room is big and comfortable. Even though the water pressure is low, the jacuzzi does not take long to fill up. Despite some minor malfunctions like one flush button not working, the jacuzzi bubble button not functioning and the glasses come in two sizes, all these are overshadowed by the comfort provided by the hotel and the hospitality showed by its staff. The staff are helpful and friendly. They can speak fluent English and Chinese.
Had stay in the Riley room from 20th June till 22nd June 2015, the room is nice and spacious, another thing that brighten your stay is the excellent staffs who will greed you with a smile. The hotel is just few minutes walk to the famous attraction and Jonker Street, so those driving there can park their car in the big hotel carpark throughout the stay. The only minor complain is the cleanliness of the room, saw some stains on the wall and carpet abit sticky at some places. But, its acceptable to me. Overall, i will still recommend this hotel for short stay in Malacca.
Lovely hotel with jacuzzi bathroom”
Sterling is as beautiful as what u see from their website, they are a child friendly hotel too. Everything about the Sterling from the lobby to the room was impeccable. We stayed in the Riley Double Room With Spa Bath and it was spacious for our family. Having a jacuzzi bathroom is a best feature here. Breakfast was good, there were 4 selections to choose from and it is served hot unlike some hotels where they have a ready buffet. Our children love drinks Yakult during breakfast.
This hotel is just perfect, couldn't ask for more”
is my first visit to melaka, we stayed for 3d2n. hotel is located at excellent location in downtown malacca (little india); is walking distance to the stadthuys (red buildings), a' famosa, all the museums. the famous malacca's satay celup stall (the capitol) is just around the corner. staffs are friendly and helpful. the hotel is location is slightly hidden therefore is pretty quiet and peaceful at night. we had our welcome drink at the balcony, it has a great night view of little india. in the morning we had choices of breakfast from the menu instead of a buffet, which makes it specials compare to all other hotel's breakfast. breakfast is serve from 7am-11am at the stoke. this hotel is great and highly recommended for any kinds of traveller.
