    Feels like home”

Near the beach, Friendly staff and Great breakfast

It was our first time in Boracay. We were a group of four including my husband, his brother and my Japanese friend. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. We stayed at the hotel for two nights and three days. When we arrived our room wasn't ready yet so the staff advised us to get lunch while we wait. We ordered Filipino dishes and ate at this Kubo style house, comfortable, windy, and feels like we were in the province. The food I think was too pricy but it was delicious. My Japanese friend loved the food also but was bothered by the many insects flying around and landing on her. I think it was due to the many trees and plants around the resort. We went in our room and it was cool and wide spaced. We got the Studio room B. It was perfect for the four of us. The bath was clean and the water pressure is just right. They didn't have a hair dryer though. The fridge has complimentary mineral water and some instant coffee. The kitchen has a hit pot too. I didn't get to try swimming in the pool but it added beauty to the place. I'll definitely try to swim in the pool next time. We had breakfast by the pool on our second morning and I had the sausages set. It was filling and it included a fruit plate with fresh Mango, pineapple and watermelon slices. The orange juice was yummy! And my friend gave me a slice of her Mango hotcake and I loved it too. On our last night we had to stay in our room because my ankle got sprained while climbing down the stairs outside our room. The staff noticed me limping and she gave me efficascent oil. On the morning before we leave we asked for sandwiches to go and they were yummy! Overall our experience in Boracay wouldn't be complete without the Strand. We will definitely be back next time. Some cons would be that the hotel is right beside a cemetery. It's a bit far from the action of Boracay but we had fun walking to station 1 and 2 from the hotel by the beach.

Luxury at peaceful setting and reasonable prices”

quiet location, good value for price, friendly and professional service from staff

My fiacee and I enjoyed our stay at The Strand Resort Boracay. This is a rare gem in all of Boracay, because it has beautiful gardens and courtyard, so that guests can meander and relax from all the bustle of white beach. The land is also not overbuilt with units. The ratio of units vs. open space (trees, shrubs) is lower than other resorts, meaning that fewer units means more peacefulness for the guest. It actually feels like a cozy home, or cabin away in the mountains. The structure of the buildings is made of the best construction materials (solid wood, stone). The owner must have built this resort to strict European construction standards because I noticed lots of details, solid wood, and stone, with refined lines which lack in all of Boracay's hotels and resorts. The Strand actually resembles more like a French or Italian villa. It is only like twenty yards from the quieter side of white beach. It feels very secluded unlike D'Mall area. The food is great, I especially loved gambas al ajillo. The beds are comfy, there are like futons for you to relax in the unit, and watch tv. I walked into other resorts in Boracay, and none had better surroundings than The Strand.

    A diamond in the Rough”

Room Amenities, Very helpful and friendly staff

The resort is tastefully decorated with comfort in mind. A five star accommodation at budget hotel price. From the orthopedic beds, to the comforter, to the overhead fans, to the rain shower head, the room safe, its one of the best places I've stayed in Boracay minus the hefty pricetag. The free breakfast is tasty and complete with brewed coffee or tea, orange juice, a choice of filipino/continental breakfast and a slice of fruit. When dining in our room veranda or just swimming in the pool, it's as if I'm in a forest resort, but when I walk outside the gates and reach the white beach in 2 mins, its only then I realized I'm in Boracay. It's like two vacations in one. Downside: it's at the far end of Station 1 and non-beach front and trikes charge 75 pesos to D'mall and 150 pesos to the jetty. Also, it is beside the cemetery, but once inside the resort, you wouldn't even notice it and it has become sort of a landmark for our trikes since the resort is not that known. As it is non-beach front, bringing valuable stuff while swimming might not be recommended. We had to order drinks at beach front resorts so that we can occupy beach lounge chairs. So just leave your valuable stuff at the resort, bring mats/sarong, water and sunblock and enjoy the beach. If you are in Boracay for quiet relaxation, I would recommend staying in this hotel.

comfortable, closed to beach, nice staffs”

friendly and helpful staffs, room, natural surroundings

It was my 5th time to visit Boracay and I wanted to be out of packed D'mall and station 2. The Strand Resort was nice choice for several reasons. It's located at station 1 (NOT Diniwid. Agoda provied wrong information, the resort is located at the region thay is called 'Sinagpa') and just several minutes to beach. The resort has everything, clean & spacious room, natural surroundings, small but nice pool, pool for kids, hammocks, simple but good breakfast, closed to beach and especially, very nice and helpful staffs. If they have two more things, it will be really perfect. 1. shuttle service to D'mall I saw that they have shuttle but it was under repair or something like that, so it was not running at the time I was staying. It's quite inconvenient to get D'mall from resort (walk+tricycle, or 15-20 mins walk along with beachside), it will be great if they have shuttle service. 2. private beach (or sunbed at beach, at least) - Not a big deal but I hope. :) Since they don't have private site at the beach, you've got to take care of your stuff at beach by yourself. It's not a big deal, but will be helpful to get some sunbed & a guard at beach.

Living la vida suave at The Strand”

best place on Boracay no doubt.
there are non really worth mentioning, seriously.

OK this was my 7th time on Boracay. I love this place because I live in Florida and this is the closest to home. Instead of staying in Manila for 2 or 3 weeks on my visit here to see my wife, for less money I can go to Boracay and stay. I'm in Manila right now for the past few days and already I miss Bora and the strand hotel so much. Me and my wife both love it there. If you go to the beach at sunset, its always a beautiful site and this kinda eerie mystical silence overcomes you, kinda like if you put on ear muffs. You feel so at ease and for a few moments you forget about the world and all the problems , just for a few momments. Thats the real hidden attraction of Boracay, it mommentarilly transports you to Heaven. And what adds to it is the Strand. If you really want to enjoy your time on Boracay, stay here. You will not go wrong. The pool is excellent, close to beach, close to tricycle stand, away from nuisence street peddlars, great food, great free breakfast. The staff is so nice. free internet wifi. Nice areas to sit and enjoy the breeze . Trust me, I will guarentee you will have great time here and when your vacation is over you will leave knowing you had the best and already planning your next visit to come back to this hotel. Read some of my other reviews of this Hotel. I've stayed in several other places on Boracay over the years and this is by far the best.

    Secluded and romantic”

    Super private

Dhane and Mai (the receptionists) are both really kind and cheerful. Everyone in this hotel provides the best smile and service. Even the one who was sweeping the grounds was happy to give information about the resort. If you are looking for a the best SECLUDED area in Boracay - away from all the noise and parties, this is the BEST place for you. I would just like to list some points here for your consideration if you want to book your stay here: 1. Breath taking landscape and infinity pool. 2. Ample breakfast, enough to last you until lunch. 3. Private suites which are really idyllic and huge. 4. You have to walk along the beach during low tide. Or else, you would have to walk in ankle or knee deep sea water during high tide. During our stay there, we tried walking from The Strand to Astoria along the beach, but we had to turn left to the road after Discovery Shores because the waters became really rough. If you don't like walking you can just get a service (150 pesos) or hail a tricycle (local version of tuktuk - 75 pesos) to get to D'Mall. Anyway, if you really just want to relax and spend your stay in Boracay enjoying nature, you can just hole up in The Strand and enjoy its private beach area. By the way, we arranged massage service and paid 500 for each person. Another thing about the Strand is, it is right beside the cemetery.

    Great hotel!”

Very good hotel, with a nice design in a quiet area of Boracay. Staff smiles and is very helpful. We were in a One Bedroom Suite, on the first floor (the best) with a great view on the smimming pool. Room service works perfectly so we enjoyed a lot of time on our private terrace! The area is not central, but the Diniwid Beach is literaly 2 min walk from the hotel. You also can have a cocktail or eat on the beach, thanks to the "Boracay Terraces Hotel" which is located on the Diniwid beach. To go to the "city centre" or to the main White Beach area, you can walk along the beach (very nice, it takes more or less 20min) or you can take a local taxi (motorbike with side-car), near the Boracay Terraces, or up on the main road. If you take a taxi just for yourself (near the beach or on the main road) don't pay more than 80 pesos (price per taxi, not per person, to go to D'Mall)! If you take a collective taxi (hand up on the main road), you can pay maximum 20 pesos and it's more fun. (9 persons can fit in a taxi!). You just tell where you want to go. To go back to the hotel, ask for the Boracay Terraces if they don't know The Strand. And if you want to dive, go to Victory Divers. To summarize, we had a great time in this hotel, and we will defenetly go back!

    Great experience and superb service”

Great location and beautiful building and grounds

dane & the staff, especially the interns, were all great throughout our stay & made it the most enjoyable experience of our entire visit to boracay. the room was beautiful & very relaxing and the view from the highest point on the property is breathtaking but underutilized. the pool is great and extremely well kept. the dining is a wonderful experience in itself and quite a variety to chose from. the strand is a little off the "beaten path" but only a short walk down the road from the beach at station 3. the resort is a good training ground for interns, usually from the school in mindanao, and they are the best!!! they really made the experience so much of what it was for us...great!!! it is very quick & easy to catch a tricycle at the gate for a cheap and simple ride any where on the island. make sure to check out the d'mall and market areas. the island is only 7 kilometers long & 1 kilometer wide and is home to over 16,000 people so don't expect complete solitude but it is still a very beautiful place just the same.

    Boracay Strand is nice”

Swimming pool, clean room, comfortable bed, food, staff and location.
    no cons at all

Ok so if you read the other reviews for this hotel you can see I stayed here many times before. Let me just say this. If I return to a place even 1 time, then you can bet your life its a good place. When it comes to sleeping and being safe I am not a cheapskate so you know Im not comming back here time after time because its cheap, however, the hotel is reasonably priced and well worth the rate. This is truly a excellent hotel/resort type place. You can actually stay here 24 hous a day and never leave or go to white beach and still be happy. The pool is so nice, the food here at the hotel is so good, the staff who work here are so nice and trustworthy. The room is always clean, nice towels, bed is really good, airconditioner is ice cold, ceiling fan above bed is great. The shower is excellent and roomy. Nice high water pressure and hot water. The hotel is located on the northern most part of white beach. Its nice here because not too many street/beach vendors doing too much makulit to you. If your going to Boracay and really want to enjoy yourself and be safe and have no worries, then choose the Strand. You wont regret it.

    Superb!”

I habe been to Boaracay so many times and this is the best hotel for me. I stayed dor 4 days and 3 nights. Huge room and very comfortable facilities. Unlike any other hotels from the center of noracay white beach, this is located at station 1, very peaceful location, with huge tree and nice landscape its like a hotel in the middle of the forest the very good thing here is its like less that 2 minute walk to the fine sand of boracay white sand beach. Staff and amnagement are very accommodating and friendly. They always has smiles on their faces. And gabe me a surprise bday greetings and complemtary cake vlbecause i celebrated my birthday while im staying at the hotel. I will be back here not only because of the perfect location and facilities but because of the people who are working in here! Thank you The Strand Boracay for making my stay extra special... A Wonderful Stay”

If you want to enjoy Boracay away from the maddening crowds then this is the place for you. Although it is tuck far away along Station 1, the beach is just a 2min walk along a residential area & D Mall is a 30min scenic walk from the beach. The rooms are very spacious & has available amenities to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The resort can be a challenge for seniors/PWD guests due to its location in a hilly terrain but the serenity of the place wherein you can just have a lazy day & read a good book in tranquility makes up for it. Breakfast is served in big portions with lots of proteins & fruits for dessert. Their fresh water pool is always kept clean & can keep the family entertained if the beach & weather outside is not permissable. But what makes this resort truly unique is how they treat their guests as family. They prepared a birthday surprise when we arrived making our vacation very memorable & special. Our heartfelt gratitude to the Strand for a wonderful stay.

    Staff, service, food, rooms, pool...

i can't speak highly enough of the excellent staff at the strand boracay resort, they truly did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable and whilst the resort is beautiful and in a convenient location not far from a quieter part of white beach and only 5 minutes tricycle ride from the action, what really make this place special is the people who work there. i was upgraded from a standard room to a suite as was the friend i was travelling with, the rooms were really spacious, very modern and superbly equipped. the food there is excellent and lyn is without a doubt the best cook in boracay. the value for money is unbelievable and having stayed in many 5 star + hotels i would put the service here above anything i have experienced anywhere else

the strand resort is at the furthest end of the white beach, which turned out to be a good choise. the hotel is quiet, super safe ( i never had to lock my apartment ) and the distance to to station 2 is about 8-10 minutes of nice beach walk. despite being a solo traveller, i got a free upgrade into a spacious suite (not sure what is the correct name), where i felt like a king. prices at the hotel are reasonable, but the best thing is the staff. they always called me by name, smiling, helpful ... they know how to make you feel special. i am not sure about the other hotels at boracay so it is hard to compare, but i do have some international experience in travelling and the personal approach of staff has been the greatest i experienced so far.

    Great resort with great staff”

    The rooms, ambience and staff

I had a fantastic stay at The Strand. From the moment I checked in the staff were great (including but not restricted to!) and the room was very clean and well presented. My initial booking through Agoda was only for 3 nights, however I enjoyed Boracay so much I decided to extend my stay for an additional 4 nights and I received an upgrade from the standard room (more than adequete) to a 1 bedroom suite which was outstanding. As some minor tips for improvement, I would suggest additional toileteries in the room as standard, inc toothcare kits, shower cap and perhaps a hairdryer in the suite rooms would add value. Also longer reception opening hours would be better.. Overall though I can only highly receommend the Strand and look forward to staying there again on my next visit to Boracay

Just amazing, perfect to relax ”

    Staff, Food, Hotel Rooms

My parents and I have stayed four different hotels (all four or five star hotels) in Boracay. By car this is the best hotel we stayed in Boracay. It is very clean and BEAUTIFUL, and their food is excellent that you don't have to go to D'mall or the beach for dinner at all. If you are in Boracay just for a few days, then this is not for you as all activities are near the Station 2, but if you have been to Boracay before or staying in Boracay for more than three or four days, then this hotel is the best resort. I highly recommended this resort to anyone. Both my mother and father said that this hotel was amazing.

    We love the Strand”

    Excellent staff and location

we stay at the strand whenever we go to boracay because its simply one of the best places on the island. the rooms are huge and clean. the pool is excellent. the surroundings are so nice and you can even walk up to the highest point of the property to get a stunning view 2nd only to mt luho. plus walking up the hill is great exercise. the food in the hotel restaurant is really really excellent. breakfast, lunch or dinner, you can eat there and everything is cooked to order. the staff is really nice, professional and always give you a nice smile and help you with anything you need. the beach is just a short stroll down the street, maybe 3 minutes away so your off that beach crowd but still just a stones throw away. overall, we think this is the best hotel on boracay.

    Nice Hotel & Awesome Staff”

lighted pool, friendly & helpful staff, very clean

during my stay at the strand resort boracay was comforting and relaxing. their suites have a living room and there is a solid soundproof door separating the bedroom and the living room. the shower and toilet is separated which is nice. i felt a bit uncomfortable because the shower had a big window. the staff at the resort was easy to approach, they spoke very good english, very friendly, and i liked how they connected with me in a personal level. they have a nice lighted pool and they are just a 5 minute walk to the nice white sandy beach. the only down side was that their food at the resort was really expensive. other than that, i had a great time and i would recommend this place to a friend and i would re-visit this resort again.

Friendly staff members at a peaceful resort”

Friendly staff. Relax atmosphere. Away from the crowd.

The Strand is based at Station 3 on the Boracay island. The staff at the resort were very friendly and are always there to assist when required. We stayed at the studio suites, but dont let it fool you - it was still BIG and had all the amenities. We had breakfast and dinner there which all tasted delicious. All freshly made in-house. However, being on station 3, it is one of the furthest accommodations located on the island. To get a local 'tuk tuk/tax' to the main area (station 2/D-Mall) will set you back approx 100 pesos. With bargaining, lowest we got it down to was 65 pesos. Its near impossible to bargain for the trip from the resort to station 2, but easier on the return trip as there are a lot more competition between drivers. The only other negative is approx 20 metres down the road the resort there is a small cemetery there. Apart from the taxi/tuk tuk and the cemetery, The Strand is a wonderful resort and deserves to be recommended!

    Great Place to Stay”

    Pool, secluded, Closeness to Beach

i stay here all the time when i go to boracay. its really one of the best hotels on the island. i stayed here a full 8 days this time. i usually stay here for a few days and then change to a hotel closer to the main area closer to the dmall area, but i'm not doing that anymore. the strand is only a short cheap trike ride away from everything plus being off the mainstream area is better. in and around the mainstream areas there are of scammers and hustlers (vendors) trying to sell you on nonsense. the strand area doesn't have that. you can enjoy boracay in peace at the strand.

    The quiet side of Boracay”

The hotel had fast check in/check out procedures, staff was very polite and friendly and the area was very relaxing

The Strand Resort Boracay is the quiet side of the island yet it is not boring. It provides you the needed rest after a long day at the beach yet it has within its premises still good things to do like its lap pool with cold clean flowing water where one can do some laps or simply sit on the ledge. It is also near other establishments and just some 2 minutes walk to the beach. The rooms are spacious and clean and ac is cold. The food is good, room service was fast and the hotel grounds is really green, big trees and all. Even if there are other guests, you wont crowd in as there are lots of space to go to within the hotel grounds.
