Great accommodation”
I booked this hotel because of my friends wedding. We arrived so early for possible early check-in but too bad the room was not yet available but my friend was so kind that she let us leave our bags at her room. The staffs are very accommodating. The place was clean. The room is big and the mattress, pillows and comforters are so good. AC was working great. The bathroom is clean and big with organic soap, shampoo and conditioner. The downside about the bathroom is they don't have exhaust and bidet hose. The breakfast buffet was good and it was at the pool area which was so cool. I will definitely comeback to this place

Staff was kind and honest”
I lost my wedding ring and was not expecting to find it, but on the last day, I asked the housekeeper to call me if ever she could find it. I was surprised when she asked me what was the name on it. The (male) laundry(sorry was not able to take note the name) in charge found it inside the bedsheet and gave it to the housekeeper. I was so very happy. They were honest. The ring is not expensive, but it has sentimental value. Thank you to the laundry in charge and the housekeeper. I will be back and will take note of their names.

One of BCD's finest but no bidet”
I like the hotel, but they don't have bidets in their rooms. Food is the best here <3 i just didn't like that they don't allow senior discount if you ordered the steak. Is that even allowed? Also, one of their staff, Rommel, insisted on our 1st breakfast that we don't have a complimentary breakfast with our stay, and when we confirmed that we do have it, he didn't even apologize. Again, i like the hotel and i enjoyed my stay, but those were the pain points. Thanks!

Exceptional”
The place was okay. Good for short stays. It's conveniently located near Citymall. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The halls and lobby are clean and maintained. The room was clean and good for the price I payed. Minus 1 star since there was no bidet...

The best hotel to stay if you go to Bacolod whether it's for leisure, business, or family/friend events. Rooms are very nice and very clean. TV has huge selection of foreign channels which I can't get in Manila (there's no KBS World though). Breakfast is good but the foods served weren't really breakfast dishes except for the first morning there. I just hope next time they add more sockets to be able to charge more of our gadgets. The safe wasn't working too so I hope they get it fixed. Overall, when I go back I will stay in this hotel again.

Nice Hotel with Character”
The Sugarland Hotel is one of the older hotels in Bacolod. Although its size is relatively small, it is well-maintained overall and it has character. The rooms have traditional motifs and are beautiful even if age shows scratches on the hardwood floors. Quite importantly in a hotel, the bed was very comfortable and unlike so many hotels in the Philippines, the window AC worked very well and was able to keep the room very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was definitely Filipino breakfast (not Western), but it was delicious. It is worth getting a rate that includes breakfast. On the weekend, the venue was busy with wedding receptions, birthday parties, and other major events--and yet the room was quiet. As for location, it is on a main road but near the edge of town. Still, major malls were generally less than 15 minutes away and taxi fare to them was 100 pesos or less. Overall, we were very satisfied with the hotel and prefer it to L'Fisher.

Great!”
We had a great time! The food at the restaurant was great. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet! Please include bacon in your menu for next time. The pool needs cleaning. We were told that we can’t use the pool until 10am but it’s stated in the guidelines that it’s open from 7am. My toddler couldn’t resist and dipped his toes anyway. Good thing the staff just let him. There’s a lot of work being done in the hallways but the staff were polite. Overall, it was a great stay.

Good Value”
Rooms are a good size, very comfortable King Bed. Staff are very accommodating and nice. Rommel in the restaurant was very nice and remembered my meal requests. The Hotel Manager was welcoming and very helpful. The pool was good. You will enjoy your stay at Sugarland.

Overall an okay experience. Can still improve.”
Newly renovated rooms in the new wing are nice and clean, and hotel is affordable. Their buffet breakfast needs more variety. Cons: They don't provide toothbrush and toothpaste. You'll need to pay to have your clothes ironed by housekeeping and sometimes housekeeping is a bit slow.

Decent and Comfortable Place to stay”
It was an emergency business trip and one that I made arrangements in a hurry. It was my first time in Bacolod and wanted to stay in a decent and yet comfortable place with reasonable amenities. Sugarland was a good choice as it provided a nice, clean place for me and my husband. One thing though, the bed's head board is not nailed to the walk and thus causes sounds when you toss and turn at night. Still, I would choose to stay in Sugarland again, if the opportunity arises again.

Affordable hotel. Service needs improvement.”
Our room was nice because we were checked-in at the new wing. My friend checked-in late (around 9PM) and they got an older room which isn't as nice. Early check-in means getting the newer rooms I guess. They don't provide toothbrush and toothpaste so make sure to bring your own. Hotel is near Citymall Goldenfield so it's convenient if you need to buy extra toiletries and water. Their buffet food choices are not that great and housekeeping is a bit slow sometimes. They can work on these to improve their service.

Just all right”
Perhaps because of the pandemic, some of the room amenities are not operational (phone had no dial tone, fridge was not working). Location is all right and quite close to CityMall. Staff are courteous and accommodating despite inconveniences.

Significant improvements needed.”
Basic necessity like wash cloth should be provided for travelers like me that brought my own liquid body wash. Shower is a joke...a change in shower head might help(?)

Good enough”
It was my first time here and I did not expect much considering that it is an old hotel. Sure enough the room where I stayed showed the hotel's age. The floor was màde of wood but to my surprise I liked it. The cabinet though has worn out doors. The bathroom was a delight but few amenities. There were no toothbrush, the towels were small, the water was not hot. Buffet breakfast was a soso but good enough. Still the hotel is a value for money.
