Classy rustic style hotel”
We love the look of the hotel, very romantic. We use their signature rooms as groom and bride suite during our wedding. Rooms were spacious and clean. We love that their minibar full of snacks is complimentary..something that is generous hotel wise. The aircon and Tv is a bit outdated but otherwise working well. Recption staff were very helpful and pleasant.😊
The fourth time I've stayed there. Little India - 1.5km walk, Golden Mile food centre just around the corner, 400m, and then all of the stuff around Arab Town. Trains & buses a short walk away. WiFi could be stronger.
Friendly staffs and nice hotel”
Except can hear the noises from outside, everything about the hotel is good. Our room got water leaked problem on the 2nd night, the staff immediately offer move us to another room. Complimentary minibar for the 1st use. We are very happy with our stay, will come back again next time.
Too noisy due to event set up”
I stayed a night at the Sultan because I had an event at the National Stadium. I got to the room, all nicely prepared, and then when I finally tried to get some sleep I was awaken by the noise from outside. Not too sure what was going on, probably an event setup or some construction. I wished they didn’t do all that at night when people are trying to get some sleep. I was too tired by the next morning to catch my flight so I didn’t really have time to comment on the noise. So yeah, try your best to get a room on a higher floor if you can, incase this happens again. Oh and they don’t serve halal food at the restaurant too, but there are plenty of halal food around the area. One thing I like about the room is the mini bar is FOC the first round, so thank you for that!
Old hotel small bed”
Very old hotel and small bed
Perfect hotel perfect location ”
We didn’t expect much from Sultan but it turned out to be the best hotel on our holiday! It was quiet, clean and comfortable room with free mini bar service! The staff was attentive and the breakfast was good. Will come back again
Nothing wrong with the stay but a few notes to travellers: - rooms only have UK plugs so have adapters ready - single room toilet a little bit cramp at the bowl - my room had natural lighting so no total darkness to sleep in late.
Hotel with character”
We had an enjoyable stay at this hotel. Helpful staff clean room comfortable bed good location and the use of a mobile phone. However we did feel that the towels and sheets had had their time and could of been replaced with new ones.
Great little hotel, can open window, easy access by train”
Stayed here a few times in transit. Keep coming back because it’s good value, it’s not high rise and easy on MRT. Good Vietnamese restaurants on Beach Rd nearby. Avoid Arab precinct, novelty but poor value.
Clean and pleasant. Can open the window for fresh air. Short walk from Lavender train Station”
Characterful. Nice location in Arab quarter. Some excellent Vietnamese restaurants nearby on Beach Rd. Second time staying here. This time just for one night on transfer. Easy access on train. Recommend.
Free upgrade plus late check out”
I checked in late, and was offered a free upgrade. The room is spacious and smells rly nice. The next day i requested for late check out and was told that i can check out at 2pm. Staffs at the reception and restaurants were rly nice!
Outstanding Stay As Always at The Sultan”
The Sultan remains my favorite hotel in Singapore for one main reason, the excellent staff that work here. Of course the facilities are awesome as well, with a brilliant breakfast thrown in, comfy bed, excellent shower and strategic location. Always good value for what you pay for.
Will always come back here”
Pros So convenient stay. Accessible to food stores, restos, convenient stores and mrt. Walking distance to malls. Hospitable staffs. Cons: Shower needs flexible head to move around to your body when taking bath.
Close to perfect.”
Wished they have a gym/swimming pool and also a Halal food place at the lobby that everyone can go to. Nonetheless, everything else is perfect, location, value for money, cleanliness and staff was accommodating. Would return again!
Choose higher floor”
I stayed there for 6 nights. On the last night, there was a street fight of more than 10 people just next to the hotel, screaming and shouting. It was super scary! First 2 nights was very good, 3rd and 4th night, no filling up of tea and coffee, toothbrush. Hotel was well decorated.
One night in Attic Room”
Place was small but clean. Comfy enough for two person. Located about 10mins from Lavender MRT. There are bus stops nearby for easy accessible to Raffles City and Boat Quay too. Staffs were friendly. Just one thing to note, due to the proximity of a mosque near the hotel, you could hear prayers in the early mornings and afternoon. Overall still a good stay~ Would recommend their One bowl restaurant at the hotel lobby. Food were good and priced affordably!
Great with a few minor whinges.”
Great place but with a few gripes. In the room I was in, 115, there is no easily accessible power point for the iron. The phone was nearly impossible to hear anyone on. The wifi strength was poor and continually dropped out. The hot water was hit & miss as to whether it would work. The air con is quite noisy. Aside from these basically cosmetic gripes, it's a good reno of an old building and it suits my needs well. Plenty of places, in fact too much choice, within 250m at which to eat, and good public transport access.
This hotel is incomparable to any other hotels in Sg”
This is the coziest place i have ever stayed in ever in singapore. Nearby to all food, malls and mrt lavender or bugis. Free breakfast is superb. They also sell plain rice only. We really love this hotel. Internet is very good. Staffs are warm and very hospitable.
This is our home away from.home. we love the place. Very cozy and very private staying.nearby to all”
The staff are very warm and accommodating. But housekeeping should clean room fast. It's taking time before the housekeeping finish our room. But overall i can say this is the best place o stay in singapore.
Lovely boutique hotel in historical building”
Pro: - Lovely boutique hotel in historical building with charm. Especially the larger rooms have a nice historical touch and are cozy. The smallest room is still nice but pretty small (SG standard though). - Great location for us in the old town. Walking distance to Haji Lane and Arab street. - Quiet surrounding on most days. Cons: - Saturday night parties in the inhouse club can get noisy. Party guests going to the outside bathroom as well as the cleaning staff in the middle of the night are talking loudly and kept us awake most of the night. :-( The music was audible too (but not particularly disturbing). I think it's not a good idea to have a club in a boutique hotel. This destroys the serene ambiance there at night. - The cleaner kept the aircon on in the afternoon, even on a very low temperature. We found this unnecessary and especially wasteful! We sleep with open window (as it's a very quiet area) and no a/c, and don't like a freezing cold room when coming back.
