great location but small rooms”
this hotel is right in china town, just off one of the main streets in manhattan (canal street). not too far from the subway stations. the staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean. Fresh towels where available upon request but there is no actual room cleaning service (fresh sheets etc). the rooms were very small but managable with a sink. bathrooms are at the end of the corridors, not too far from the rooms. you get what you pay for with this hotel, ideal for people sight seeing in the city who arent in the room too much of the day! we enjoyed our stay, however,it was just a place to sleep.

no problems at all, good location because of proximity of chinese restaurants and city, a lot of people on the street, I reccomend that hotel, good quality for that price, but rooms are very very small, two people can not walk around at one time

not bad for the price...don't expect much”
this would be an excellent hotel if you didn't have to walk past the floors 3 and 4 (meaning they are a bit scary and smell really bad) however, once you get to the 5th floor, the (very small) rooms are clean and as well are the (shared) bathrooms. overall you can't beat the price and i would stay again

the sun bright hotel is exactly what it advertised for, a low-cost, low-end hotel in manhattan's chinatown. don't expect much else. you'll have a room with no windows, no phone, no internet, and bathrooms shared with others in the hallway. the staff was being nice and reasonable to us.

Good location but small and noisy rooms”
On the pictures the hotel looked large and like a real hotel, but it has really small rooms without windows. There were four shared restrooms, which were cleaned every day. We had two small commodes, a small TV and a fan on the wall. The walls were really thin and I couldn't sleep because I could hear and understand every word from our neighbors clearly, hence not recommendable for people with a light sleep. We were with a car there and the good location (heart of chinatown) costed us a lot of additional money for a parking garage nearby the hotel. It was the worst hotel on our USA trip and I would rather recommend a "real" hotel in Brooklyn for instance.

Affordable option in New York”
This hotel is suitable if you need only a personal space to take some rest. It's like a hostel, but with individual partition, which -for me- is a plus. The room is very small, but they provide towel and basic toiletries. It can be noisy sometimes and the shared bathroom can be very dirty in peak hours; but for the price you pay, it's fair enough.

the hotel was decent for the price we paid for”
Our stay was decent. It wasn't such a good hotel but compared to the prices of the other hotels in NY, it was pretty cheap. The price of the hotel is why we decided to book this hotel. The room was really small and it barely fit our luggage. Also, there's no elevator so we had to carry all our heavy bags up and down the stairs. Another negative thing is that this hotel only has a shared bathroom.

ok the only good thing about this place is the location. that's to be purely honest. it is dirt cheap and in the lower east side of manhattan. other than that don't expect too much else. the single room you get is not really a room but a capsule. all it is, is a place to sleep in and that's it. they have free wifi as well and the staff were pretty helpful.

OMG! Words can't describe ”
Hahaha I read all the previous reviews so I knew what I was in for. Yes it's cheap and centrally located and probably ideal for a solo travel on a budget, or a drug user. Rooms on the fifth floor were better than other floors, I think there was livestock on the forth floor. No lift. The cells were partitions in a large ware house, to say they were tiny is very accurate, there was chicken wire on the ceiling to stop people jumping the walls from adjacent cells. The dude next door kept taking calls every hour or two through the night then would snore unbelievably loudly between calls. One of those apnea snores where he would stop breathing then then choke and sputter. He should have been a lumber jack. Doors on other cells were slamming all night.. The toilet / shower freaked me out, thank god they supplied disposable slippers to wear in the shower. I loved this place but 1 night was enough for me, for life. I would recommend this place to my friends just to see the expression on their faces the next morning. Enjoy your stay.

it's a horrible little place that's falling apart. I was surprised the standards in nyc can be that low. the rooms have about 2.5sqm and there's about 50 of them on each floor. there's very little privacy because the rooms have no fixed ceilings, only a metal mesh to allow to air movement. the bathrooms are cleaned daily, but the facilities are in awful condition. on the plus side there's air conditioning on some floors. The place is very noisy because the corridor windows are falling apart. the reception area looks presentable. I think the hotel may be used by homeless or other 'regulars'

Good location, but bad smell and dirty towels”
The hotel is a bit hard to find and the steps leading up to the hotel make it very difficult for anyone with heavy luggage. The towels had dirty stains on them and there are no private bathrooms (this was not immediate clear when I booked it) The price is very cheap and the value is descent for New York. I just wish I would have been made aware of the fact that there were no private bathrooms, even for the double room, and clean towels would have been nice

The room is small, and nobody likes shared bathrooms. But it was cleaner and calmer than other budget Chinatown hotels. Internet is fast. A warning, tho - there were a few bed-bugs in my room, so keep your bags closed during your stay.

Bear minimal leg restring dromentry”
Its the cheapest stay you can ever get in any city in the world, so for new york its the best cheap deal you can get, other than the price you can consider nothing else is note going to make you go smiley. Its a run down place, with below average to bad maintenance, It takes great courage for you to cross the few abandoned looking floors, with all that smell and scary cats & cockroaches, but high floors from 5th floor are ok to stay and survive. If you have no where else to go this place is ok to take up, but go prepared.

good internet but lots of bugs”
I thought I have my own bathroom in standard double room, but i don't.but it's okay to take shower in the bathroom sharing together.the bathrooms are enough to quest. the bed is okay but the room is full of bugs (like flies and Cockroaches) at least it has good internet connection, TV and cheaper than others.the location is really convenient, but if i have more money i wont stay there again!
