Were we SCAMMED? ”
We initially booked this hotel, dropped our heavy bags in the small lobby and checked in. Checking in took awhile, as the receptionist was sure we did not have a reservation. After successfully checking us in, he assures us that they had a second building with an elevator, to ease our backs. So, we were glad, of course. The receptionist and another man helped carry the bags to this other building, about 2-3 minutes from this hotel. To our shock, IT WAS A DIFFERENT HOTEL. Yunus Emre Hotel. It was dark and late at night, we didn’t know what else to do but to just go with it. The rooms in this hotel was TERRIBLE, the door was BUSTED, there was NO HEATER and the sheets had STAINS. The door was already BROKEN prior to our check in, but it was jammed on the last day of our stay and they kept on BLAMING US that “we” BROKE the door. The only pleasant thing was there was good wifi and good breakfast.
The hotel is in the center, the host was very friendly and helped almost with everything, ”
The hotel is 5 minutes by walk to Blue Mosque, Aya Sofiya, Arasta Bazaar, there are a lot of places to eat around the hotel, such as Doy Doy, Serbethane, and also there is a cute restaurant in the hotel with a terrace with few tables with a great view, 5 minutes walking to the Sea Shore, where u can get a sweetest simit from an old man selling it there, and breath a cool salty air. I loved staying in Sunrise, for a lot of reasons, but I think the most important thing is to be cared by a host.
It was not what I expected. It was more expensive than the much better hotels. No facilities. Not even shampoo and soap in Bathroom. The breakfast was written Buffet but it was not. No Escalator. The staircase was very narrow and hard to go up. We went to nearby hotels in person and they were so so much better with good facilities and good breakfast and surprisingly cheaper price.
With the location and price I paid, no complaint!!”
Surprised as Ihnan, the superman guy, directly said my name when arrived (late check-in).Usually, usually even they know we had a reservation there and arrived late, they will ask our name and so on n so on...and we are already tired. This guy just straight took me to my room and let me know all the information I need on the way there. The other staff of the hotel and restaurant are also friendly, though they do not speak English well. The food is good, and the size is quite big. Unfortunately I only stayed for 1 night, and happened to know that they have like balcony on top of the restaurant, so you can see the sea when you have your meals. Surely recommend this hotel for traveler. Location is easy to reach, max 10 mins from the Metro. Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Basilica Cistern and Topkafi is only 5 mins walking
The hotel very near to Blumoq and Ayasofya. We can walk to the tram station easily. Many resterrant around. We stayed there for 5 nights and they upgrade the room for us to a bigger room add we was very happy about that.
Good location with acceptable price”
amazing place..di not want to leave!!”
The staff was amazing..i travelled with my elder mom..they treated her and me like loving family. We had an awsome experience ,,looking foward on going back..thank you sunrise hotel!!!and has a bonus...location...location...
The Sunrise Hotel”
Nice little hotel, in an excelent location, very close to the blue mosque and the Sofia one. The value (quality/price) is really high. The only cons is that the room was very small, but we did not really need more for a few days. So we do recommend it if you are on a budget.
Sweet and helpful staff and a nice small hotel”
I stayed with a friend at this hotel for a week and enjoyed the atmosphere and the friendly and helpful staff. English skills were limited and the heating not working properly which was annoying, but for the price this was a really nice hotel with small but nicely decorated, clean and bright rooms. Wifi worked perfectly.
Beautiful botique hotel with Blue Mosque location”
We were very pleased with this hotel and think it presents a great value. The rooms are big, very clean, and tastefully decorated for a true B&B experience. You're very close to the main tourist sights and the tram, from which you can get to the metro and Ataturk airport. We would definitely stay here again.
the rooms are very small, no elevator, not very clean
Staff helpful, but this is NOT really a hotel”
I arrived early evening and very tired from a long flight, only to be told that the hotel was full. After being made to wait outside on the outdoor cafe (as it has no lobby to speak of), the staff took me across the street, made to wait again, then taken to a room with a shared bathroom. Since I specifically booked a room with a private bath, I did not agree to take the room. They made me wait again across the street for about half an hour while the staff made more calls. Finally they took me to another place about 3 blocks away. They gave me a room with a view. The next day, when I returned to my room, somebody else was already occupying it. Since this place had no reception area, I had to go to the original Sunrise Hotel to inquire about my new room. I have to admit that the people all tried to help, but I think it is a misrepresentation to call these separate rooms as a hotel. I think Agoda has a responsibility to check the hotels it offers so that customers are not misled.
Hotel is ideally located to the major attractions and accessible shops. The staff is friendly and helpful and made us feel at home. Nice restaurant situated below the hotel.
Gute Lage, kleine Zimmer”
