Clean and New Hotel”
The hotel is new with Train style! The room is large and clean. Staff is really friendly and helpful. Yummy food and breakfast! I would like to recommend this hotel and I will go back to stay again if have a chance to visit Khon Kaen.
Very interesting theme! Cozy Stay ...”
The hotel has very interesting character. And the sound of real trains passing by makes the theme stands out! The staff are helpful in answering questions and providing recommendations for where to visit(i.e., night market) in Khon Kaen.
Nice hotel, interesting decor, superb staff”
Despite being next to the railway line, there aren't many trains passing by either day or night to ruin the atmosphere. Speaking of atmosphere, each room has hidden multi-coloured ceiling lights that can give you varying moods from Zen to disco at the touch of a remote control. Wifi is speedy (23+ mbps). Looking from the map this hotel might seem far from city center, but if you're not in a hurry, that's only 2km walk away and also to the city's Kaen Nakhon lake. Unfortunately I got up very late each morning to try their breakfast, but next time then.
It's great with the cleanest designed hotel.”
I and my family feel very comfortable when stayed there. Even the hotel is located nearby railway, we'd never been annoyed or trembled by the trains. We will stay there whenever we visit Khon Kaen Province.
Don't miss to stay at The Terminal Hotel”
Excellent. It is well above my expectation actually. Although I read a few good comments before I chose this hotel. I am very impressed when I actually see it. The room is big, clean and has a big screen TV. The staffs are very nice both at the reception and the bell boy. Its location is very convenient to go to other tourist attraction in the city and easy to find even you come to Khon Khan for the first time. The price is very cheap compared to room quality and service.
Great Decor and Food, comfortable and affordable ”
I’ve stayed here a couple times and I want to say first, it’s one of the best hotels in Khon Kaen. It’s a boutique hotel, no pool but a great restaurant and cafe on site. The staff door men are literally night and day. The night guy is older and really doesn’t seem happy or helpful. The guy in the day shift is very helpful and Enthusiastic but be sure to tip him 30-40 baht is good. The staff at the desk has changed since the first time I stayed there almost a year ago. The place had just opened (it seemed) and the clerks at that time were excited to see customers and there was a much better experience. Now the staff are professional and kind, but I think they are less attentive to customer needs. Just a small thing but it’s my opinion that a good staff is responsible for the success of a hotel.
Train Station Concept Hotel”
The overall stay was pleasant. I was charged an early-check in fee though i felt that this could be waived as part of a goodwill gesture to the guest. Trains go by almost every hour and it is not too disrupting. Pace in Khon Kaen is relatively slow so don't expect to rush or arrive just in time for anything. Central Plaza is 3km away by foot.
A short stop”
We just stayed overnight at this hotel. I chose it because of its design and really wanted to take some nice photos of my husband and I because we were celebrating our anniversary. It's incredibly well designed. The staff were extremely friendly and they spoke to us in the level of Thai that we were comfortable with: slowly and very clearly. They were incredibly patient with our trying to speak Thai. It's a little out of the center of the city in terms of its location but we drove so it was not a big deal for us. Although, I think there's plenty to do in the area if you didn't have access to a car. The check in and check times were also very convenient: 12pm. The food (breakfast) was surprisingly very good and besides a buffet, you can order off a menu. I would definitely stay here again. If the price was lowered, I would stay longer because it's still a little pricey for me. But for what you get, I think the cost is about right.
A great place to stay whether short or long...”
Most of my stays are business related so the first thing I stress on the convenience of location. Surely, The Terminal is very conveniently located, but apart from most of the budget hotels I have experienced this hotel has a reasonable high standard in terms of the attentiveness of staff and other services (housekeeping, additional requests, etc.) Furthermore, as the hotel is located near a railway, The Terminal has shaped itself as a train terminal in its name as well as all of its architectural designs - something you would assume a nuisance instantly becomes something you can enjoy.
First time stay at Khon Kaen”
This is my first time stay at Khon Kaen, staff are friendly but they serve limited Bacon and Sausage for breakfast(9am) finished. I think they should ask the train to stop at this hotel to impress the guest and the hotel lobby should include history of train in Thailand.
This hotel has taken a lemon (location next to the train tracks), and has turned it into sweet lemonade (railroad theme). The positives were the incredible helpfulness of the staff and the great theme. Bed was perfect for comfort. One strange thing that I'll never understand about hotels in Thailand is why the bathrooms are often not part of the air-conditioned room. The bathroom in this hotel has a permanently open, floor-to-ceiling vent/window, that keeps the bathroom hot and sultry constantly. You work up a sweat just towelling off or brushing your teeth. A few other problems, we'll attribute to the newness of the hotel are: 1) the air-conditioner remote stopped working after the staff set our room temperature to 18 degrees. Because we couldn't adjust the temp., the room was uncomfortably frigid all night. The staff later told us that the remote was "tricky" to aim at the sensor. However, we tried aiming it at the A/C sensor from seven or eight locations in the room, but no luck. Certainly something wrong here. Consequently, we had to open windows in the middle of the night to moderate the room temperature, which, of course brought in all the mosquitos. A pretty bad trade off. 2) Be really careful with the hot-water side of the shower faucet. It gets hot enough to induce a burn injury. 3) The remote that operates the "mood lighting" in the room had a dead battery. Other than the above things, the room design, larger-than-normal LCD TV, but especially staff friendliness was superb. I would try it again.
Loved it! Quality hotel for the price and incredably quirky. The rooms and hotel are like a railway station. The quality of breakfast was very good! The hotel can be reached by taking a baht bus route 4 from the bus station, if you do not drive. There is a zen lighting system and choice of many rooming colours in the rooms. Can thoroughly recommend this hotel. There was only 1 drawback and that is that the hotel is next to the railway line and it is very noisy so can wake you up at all hours.
The train theme made it more interesting to stay here than a standard hotel. The design made it feel special and the rooms were also good size and comfortable. The staff were friendly and the guy looking after breakfast gave us a lot of attention. Although we only stayed one night as a stopover I enjoyed my stay at The Terminal Hotel.
Unique Designed Hotel”
The design of this hotel is unique. Concept is about the history of train station because of the location. The lobby was designed to be terminal as its name and rooms were designed to be sleeping carriage. We really enjoyed staying at this hotel very much. Breakfast is good, room is very clean, and staffs are very friendly and helpful.
Friendly staff, nice breakfast”
I like the theme/gimmick of the hotel. They made everything seem like we are at the terminal. Their staff was very nice so as their breakfast. We got good deals so it was worth paying.
A unique hotel!”
This is a hotel with a difference. I love the train theme, it's so much more fun compared to the usual bland design hotels. The rooms are very large, good choice on English language channels, strong wi-fi signal, large bathroom with strong shower and comfortable bed. The breakfast was good and the staff were very helpful and friendly. There was a decent size car park and easy access to the road. It is close to a large night market and a short drive from a scenic lake. The sound of the trains on the track side is a little loud, however it adds to the theme atmosphere. If this is an issue book a room on the opposite side. All in all I would certainly stay here again.
Cheap price and very nice hospitality!! Thats quite good stay at The Terminal, but other side of the building its very loud from the train all night so not sleep well. Staff so friendly, helpful and the breakfast is variety delicious. Will be back again
Alaska Experience / Twice in a Row”
This is my second stay at this hotel. Everything was great at the first visit except the inability to control the room air conditioning, which was set at 18 degrees. I thought I'd give it a try again, and the same problem. The remote control was set at 18 degrees (again) and the room was frigid all night long and the next morning. I had to open all the windows just to even the temperature a little bit. For this to happen a second time/visit, is a deal-breaker for me. No more stays at The Terminal Hotel (the terminal must be in Anchorage or Siberia).
It would have been even more perfect with a bathtub. Location wise, the hotel is named the Terminal because it's by a railway. If you are a light-sleeper, it might not be suitable as you could be woken up by the train running from quite early in the morning.
Free Wi-Fi in all rooms!
