a perfect tide in the heart of the action”

great location, excellent service

situated in the heart of d'mall boracay, station 2, the tides offers a perfect place for those looking for a convenient place to stay that's near all the action and happenings. almost everything is right outside the hotel: shopping, dining, drinking, bank atm's, and of course the beach. this was my first time in boracay and the tides hotel made sure i had a hassle-free and pleasant stay. from kalibo international airport, we rode a bus that took around 2 hours and then a short ferry ride in caticlan ferry port to reach the island of boracay. the round trip transfer was arranged through the hotel costing per person. when we arrived the island, a staff was already waiting for us to take us to the hotel. this made it convenient for us first time traveler's as we were already weary from the delayed flight from manila. in the hotel, the staff were all smiles and very welcoming to all of its guest. the room we stayed at was ok, it was spacious and clean. the tv also provides entertainment with a good mix of channels. hopefully though they can work on their wi-fi signal, since it does not reach our room. besides this, our stay also includes free use of its amenities like the pool and gym, a free drink in the bar, plus free breakfast. all in all, we had a wonderful time in boracay and a pleasant stay in this hotel.

Great value ”

Location, roof top pool, design of rooms

The Tides is located right in the middle of D'Mall and Station 2 on Boracay. White Beach is a 2 minute walk. Rooms had a chic design and were very modern. Bathroom was large with a great shower. Roof top pool with a bar and club music was really cool and a great escape from the throngs of people at the beach. Bar food was very good. Service was good at front desk; exceptional at the pool/bar. Only two negatives: the hotel is very hard to find the first time. Recommend the hotel post step-by-step instructions for arrival on their website. Also, the 1st floor rooms (facing the interior of the hotel, of course) back-up to a busy walkway. Other guests are incredibly loud and inconsiderate every morning beginning at 6:30 am. You can fix this by either getting a 3rd/4th floor room or requesting an exterior room. Last funny note of interest, we stayed at the Tides for 5 days before ending our vacation at a much more expensive resort, still in Station 2. My girlfriend missed the Tides and wished we had stayed. And it was half of the price! Oh, well. I tried.

Felt like i have chosen the perfect hotel ”

Location, welcoming and helpful staff

Highly recommended for visitors to book airport transfer directly with the hotel. The arrangement could be extremely confusing with no help and I was very grateful for the tides hotel staff to fetch me personally all the way from the ferry terminal on the main island to the hotel. Check in counter staff was extremely welcoming that made the tiring long journey suddenly worth it. Check in process was so quick that I haven even finish my welcome drink. Most of the other hotel staffs were as sunny as the sun in Boracay. Hotel is perfectly located, it's just few steps away from white beach and in D'mall itself. Everything we need is within reach without having the need to travel on wheels. Breakfast i suppose could be consider good for the price we paid for (no complains and I've experience worst around asia) The only down side were not enough hot water which I personally made do with a kettle for hot shower (issue was due to the recent typhoon, believe to be an issue through out the island not just the hotel) and internet was pretty unstable but still acceptable for me.

great location with smiling staff”

great location, friendly staff, big rooms, comfortable beds

considering the location and the price, i would highly recommend the hotel. it is located in the center of d'mall, where you can enjoy the most exciting life in boracay. it's not too far to walk to either side (boat station 1 & boat station 3), and if you need a toilet, it is very convenient for you to walk back and use the toilet in your own room (the public toilets in d'mall requires 5 peso). the great thing about the hotel is the location as it is in the center of the most visited part of the island, very near the restaurants and shops. it is near the beach front. in sum, there is no beach view in this hotel, but it's still a great place to stay, and you just need to walk for 2-3 mins for white beach. i also liked the modern design of the hotel as it gave me a very clean and soothing feeling once entering the hotel. i also liked the size of the room and i found that beds were comfortable. i have stayed in a lot of hotels but this one is really memorable. i will surely stay in this hotel the next time i visit boracay. service was also great as the hotel staff was very friendly with smiles on their faces, always. there was breakfast buffet with variety of meal. this was my first time to stay in this hotel and i will be back again. i shall also mention that i got free courtsey drink when i arrived to the hotel. there was internet but it was available only in the reception area.

Rooftop pool, location, staff

despite having read some negative reviews, this one will have to make up for it. i personally had a wonderful stay at the tides hotel and didn't have any issues whatsoever. the rooms are laid out beautifully with a huge amount with extra space to move around comfortably. the rooftop pool is also worth checking out. i had breakfast at the hotel, snacked at the lounge deck and had room service as well, food was excellent without any exagerrations! this hotel is located right in d'mall (the centre of where everything is happening), close to so many nice restaurants and shops and just a two-minute walk to the white beach (station 2). i am happy to return to this hotel if i get the chance to, absolutely.

Boracay Birthday Getaway”

Food, Location, Pool

It was our first time in Boracay and it’s going to be my birthday celebration. We booked at the hotel a few days before our flight and sent out an email to Tides hotel just to make sure we won’t encounter any hassle. We were able to check in at 3PM and was given our welcome drinks. We booked for an essential room. The room was pretty small, TV is small as well (19”) and the shower as well as the toilet room are both small. Agoda says essential room has a separate bath tub and shower but it does not. There were also ants on the bed and no rug available. The hotel at the lobby didn’t even greet me when we checked in. The next day, after walking at the beach, when we went back to the hotel, we found out that water is leaking at our ceiling. We informed the reception and immediately transferred us to a different room. They transferred us to an exceptional room which is so big. The TV is 24” flat with a pretty nice air-condition. There is bath tub and the bed is so nice. I guess if you will really book at Tides and wanted to have a great room, it would really be better to get an exceptional room rather than essential. Also, there are perks when you book at Tides: - Free 2 cocktails - 10% discount at epic - Nice pool - Buffet breakfast which is really great! I love their unlimited bacon Overall, other than the 1st day where we stayed at essential hotel, I could say in terms of location where it is located at the center of Dmall, facilities and breakfast, It was a very nice hotel. 

Excellent hotel in the heart of Boracay!”

Great place, delicious food, excellent service

Tides is definitely in the heart of Boracay! While me and my wife were staying in this hotel we enjoy easy access to everything we need like shops, restaurants, ATM and all the other hot-spots Boracay has to offer. Aside from its great location, we also enjoy the amenities of the hotel, we love hanging-out in the roof-deck pool every afternoon while being served with our favorite drinks by their bar (Soltice). The buffet breakfast that they are offering was also nice as they have a lot foods to choose from. We tried their restaurant (Kaon) for dinner and it was also delicious, it's a bit pricey though, but worth every penny. My wife loves having a massage and so she availed of the full-body massage offered by their spa (Surrender day) and according to my wife it's one of the best massage she's ever had. I think the only negative thing about this hotel is that it is not beach-front, but if you're like me who doesn't mind a minute of walk going to the beach, then this hotel is definitely a good choice.

The Tide is high”

Clean rooms at this hotel. If you require a room that is up to date with the times then this is it. The tides mimics other boutique hotels with sleek lines and ikea type furniture. Free internet!
The beds are extremely firm as stated in other reviews. The exceptional room(the better one) with the tub is not worth the money. The shower was weak and the curtain only covers half of the shower. Water will rain down over the floor. This is normal since there are drains on the floor, yet awkward.

The Tides definitely has modern rooms compared to other places I checked out on the beach. If you are worried about being on the beach, don't. The beach is a 2 min. walk and the hotel is located right in the heart of D'Mall. I sat in front of Red Coconut hotel which has beach service. No one ever asked if I was a patron as long as I had the green. The breakfast is worth its weight in gold. Everyone was extremely pleasant to deal with. Teresa at the front desk helped me with travel information and getting to Iloilo. She is professional at best. Mark is your guy for transportation to the airport. I had to fight him off my bags, I'm used to carrying myself. Negotiate everything you can. I went snorkeling for and they included the gear. On the beach you will find plenty of people selling excursions. Walk straight out from the hotel to the beach. The more people the better. The snorkeling guy starts then then I say He pauses and I start to walk, he says ok. When you get to the boat, there is a service fee that is b.s. all the way. This is how they make up for the difference. Don't pay it. Like I said I got the whole deal forwhich included the snorkeling gear. The experience is worth it!! Don't forget to tip everyone generously. Everything is inexpensive so don't take advantage of being a cheap arse. Heading back soon!!

An Awesome Boracay experience”

Very clean, great location close to both D'mall and the Beach. Nice Roof top bar and pool area, helpful staff.
The shower in our room was a little cold I would have preferred a hotter shower.

My Husband and I decided to stay at this hotel because it sounded like it was in the heart of all the action. We had agreed it would be nice to be close to everything and that if it was too noisy we would move somewhere quieter for the last two nights. We liked it so much that we decided to extend our stay. In previous information that we had read we got the impression that Boat station 2 was really nosy. My husband and I did not notice the noise. We found that the hotel was conveniently located close to White Beach and the D'mall, supermarket, main rd, D'Talipapa and many restaurants. We found that the tides was good value for money. If you wanted to be close to everything this is the hotel you should stay at. All the action is on the White Beach side of the Island.....

great stay!”

location, rooftop pool, staff

Our stay at The Tides was great! The location is awesome, right in the middle of Dmall but surprisingly quiet once you go into the hotel. The staff was very accommodating, making sure the guests feel welcome. We checked in a little later than 2pm but while we waited they gave us drinks and snacks to tide us over. I enjoyed the fact that the hotel felt intimate since there are only 60 rooms, it's obvious they take care of the grounds well. While some of the building looks older, it doesn't take away from the fact that they maintain the hotel very well. Every single staff member was friendly, nice and very helpful. The food from Ka-On is very very good and reasonably priced considering its room service. The breakfast buffet is also very tasty. My favorite part of my whole trip was using their rooftop pool then going back to a clean and comfortable room. Great service, food, facilities, staff and amenities. Not enough good things to say about this hotel! I would definitely go back!

Well above average!”

Location, standard and staff.

The Tides Hotel is a great base to explore Boracay. Centrally located in d'mall in station 2, the white beach and shopping is just a stone throw away. Many restaurants and eateries on your doorstep, it is catered for the tourists. A couple of issues with our rooms but staff were great in rectifying the problem. I would definitely stay there again.

Ideal location, No noise at night”

Location, Comfort, Staff

We had a very pleasant stay at the Tides Hotel. It's located in D'mall so you have easy access to many of the nearby shops and restaurants and it is only a 3 minute walk to the beach. At night you don't have a lot of noise or echo from the nearby clubs and bars; we never had an issue with noise at night. For the most part everything on White Beach is within a short to reasonable walking distance regardless of where you stay but the Tides just had the ideal location for us. We really enjoyed the buffet breakfast in terms of variety and taste of Filipino and western options. Nearby, there is grocery store and a nice delicatessen where you can purchase some great deli meats, cheese and wine (nice for a picnic on the beach :) Bulabog beach is about a 15 minute walk away and Puka Shell beach is a 20 minute/200peso ~ $4 trike ride away. We had to leave early and there was a group of us so the Hotel was able to provide us a reasonable and comfortable ride to the boat station. There's a gym and a spa but we didn't try it out, though a free 15 minute massage and discounts on a nearby restaurant were included in our check in.

Tides of Convenience”

Location, Room, Price

The Tides has always been an incredibly inviting hotel in Boracay. What it lacks in having its very own beachfront it makes up for in a central location, excellent design, an amazing gym, great staff, and an opulent room. The tides has an excellent albeit small spa and pool. The food is pretty good in it's own in house restaurant called ka-on. I have always recommended Tides for people who want to be in the center of things. There's a Japanese restaurant next door, a deli to the left and an entire strip of shops for you to check out.

Worth the extra expense”

location, rooms are presented well, great service, no extra fees

I stayed at in three hotels whilst on Boracay, low to mid range i found that most the staff although polite, they will try and get more money out of you when settling your bill, they bump up the pricing, even after you have agreed on a set price for your stay, try and tell you the complimentary breakfast wasnt complimentary or there were additional charges. I experienced none of this at The Tides, the staff assisted me as they could, ensured the room was well serviced, the complimentary breakfast was lovely, booked transfers for us that were slightly more expensive, but definitely worth it, from memory the transfer for two was approx 500 each. Being right on D Mall is a bonus, i was there in the low season and there was not much noise coming from the Mall at night so was reaonably peaceful with everything on the doorstep, not sure if it is noiser in high season. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends.

I really enjoyed my stay at The Tides Hotel because it was located in a convenient location and the price was also affordable. I stayed at the hotel with two other friends in a room with two double beds and lived comfortably. The staff was very attentive and moved us to another room when our first room's lock was not working. Located in Station 2 in D Mall, it was a step away from all the shops and minutes from the beach! I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Boracay!

I throughly enjoyed my trip to the Boracay islands. I've been to couple of hotels but the tides was exceptionally comfortable mostly because of its location. The rooftop pool is also very nice at night. The massage is pretty decent. The hotel offers a lot of discounts including the Aria and other places.

Excellent hotel, i like the location it is inside Dmall very accesible”

The hotel was very nice, the location was superb, I would highly recommend the hotel because it is surrounded by restaurant and it has easy access to the beach. I would choose the Tides over does pricey hotel at the beach front. Station 2 was also for me the best station in boracay.
