Staff were exceptionally friendly and very helpful”

staff, location, cleanliness

we had a very pleasant stay at the tourist hotel. The room was really spacious and clean and had some good movie channels on the television. The staff were really friendly. on our first night they invited us to eat dinner and drink some beer with them which they provided and they wouldn't take any money from us when we tried to contribute. Breakfast was basic but good. They hotel is located in the old quarter, and is very convenient for seeing the ciry. good value for money. would definitely stay again.

location,friendlly staff,good price

location in the old quarters. All locations are walkable from this hotel. The night life of this hotel is great as it is near certain foodshops which opens late into the night. It is near the famous Little Hanoi food shop. This hotel serves good food for breakfast and free internet service. King size beds and clean bathrooms were one of the highlights of this hotels. The staff were very friendly on reception and fun. The breakfast was basic and good by Vietnamese standards and included freshly cooked omelette, fresh fruit, cereals, tea and strong coffee along with fruit juices. It was a nice, welcome surprise

Clean, hot shower and great location.”

Spent 3 days 2 nights at the Tourist. Heads up no real signage 'Tourist Hotel' or didn't see it however it shares facilities and is next door to Ibiz Hostel. I was in the Superior/Standard Double on the first floor which was a pretty solid room. Huge, brand new bathroom, super high ceilings, no windows. Nothing special to the room itself but was comfortable. Front desk lady was nice and responsive. I'd read the reviews previously and need to conquer on most. Location is fantastic as you're right in the heart of it. If you're looking to sleep before midnight you really shouldn't even be looking at spots around here. The hotel does crank music until that time with folks enjoying themselves and yes it is 420 friendly. Breakfast was pretty bland but expected for the price of the place, it'll give you a fix and really food is $1-3 outside. Only knock and they adjusted was the staff being loud the next morning. Again they adjusted and it was appreciated, reminders usually don't hurt.

For Budget Conscious But Worth of Your Money”

The Tourist Hotel is an old hotel. But it is clean and well taken care of. They clean everyday, changed the beddings and provide fresh clean towels. Our family room is spacious with balcony. Located just near the souvenir items shops and drink/resto bars. The staff are good and very accommodating with special mention to Thakumiya and Nancy who assist our family during the reservations and our stay at their hotel. The reception is open 24/7. I highly recommend this hotel to every budget conscious travelers. You wont regret spending your money for this hotel.

A great location with helpful staff”

Located in the old quarter area, friendly staff speak English well, big rooms with the balcony

I only stayed 2 days at the Tourist Hotel however I enjoyed that time a lot. Friendly staff are always downstairs and ready to help you if you have any questions. I booked a standard room however they upgraded me without extra charge. Such a nice gift! The breakfast is simple but provide enough nutrition for your morning. Best thing: LOCATION is so easy to walk around and discover old quarter streets.

Good price, fast wifi, close to eateries etc”

Stayed here one night between tours. The hotel I booked was full but was placed in the neighbouring building which was fine. Accommodation simple but clean and spacious and wifi speed was better than previous Hanoi hotel. My room at back of building was quiet despite the road out front being a main tourist area full of bars and restaurants. Found the old quarter to be a bit noisy and busy for my taste, preferring my later stay near the cathedral and lake, but if this is where you want to stay, this hotel is fine for a cheap few nights.

So much convenience for $15 per night”

The three best things about this place are the cost, quality of the bed and rooms, and the location in the Old Quarter. Simply unbeatable.

My stay was excellent. The room was exactly what we wanted, just a nice spacious room with a clean shower and a nice bed. The staff is extremely helpful and can speak English very well. They have several tours, including a food tour and a city tour that you can book through them. The location of this hotel is unbeatable. It is located in the middle of the old quarter ON beer street. This place was perfect.

very cheap, friendly staff, great location

the hotel is not very beautiful or clean (old building), but for the price it's very worth it. you can get the same price, or even higher for the same condition hotel but far away, not in the heart of hanoi like this one. it's on a small street very close to hoan kiem lake, it takes 10 mins to walk. around the hotel is a lot of souvenir store, restaurant, and street food, its also the nightlife area in hanoi, very interesting. the second night, they transfer me to another hotel and the staff really helpful.

Great service, BIG ROOMS, comfy but firm bed”

Service, room size, great location in old quarter

I booked a double bed as a single person. The bed is about a queen size. The rooms are very spacious (I walked around and checked out other comporable hotels and their rooms, and found that they were VERY small, barely big enough to walk around the bed). The rooms here have beautiful engraved wood furniture and are spacious. The customer service is great. Nancy can help you with good rates for tourist attractions and help you with any needs for your stay. Only downfall, if you want QUIET (it is a VERY noisy street), you MUST have a room on the "back side" of the hotel. Simply make a note when booking, that you "need a quiet room". Great location!!!! Central to everything. Ask for a map and directions and they'll point you on your way.

Cheap, location and room size

The rooms are very spacious with a comfortable bed. Great location near to the beer corner but not noisy in the hotel at all. Breakfast included for the price of the room was really good too. I will stay here again on my next short trip to Hanoi Old Quarter.

The room we got is huge with a bath tub. The location is within the heart of the the old quarter. Only downside is there is no elevator and our room is on the 4th floor but still I'd book again on this place when I come back to Hanoi. :)

Location, Staff, Comfy

The location of the hotel is great right in the middle of the old quarter, easy to get around and next to Ta Hien street where you can go to for beer. Also, please be aware that of you would want to book any sightseeing tours, don't book with them. They are not legitimate the Sinh tourist. The Sinh tourist is a few doors away at 52 Luong Ngoc Quyen (towards Hang Giay) right at the corner. Otherwise, everything else is spot on. I also got a free upgrade to family suite

Good location ”

Location and price

It was a good stay. I was put on the 5th floor, so ten flights of stairs! Huge effort carrying to big backpacks with no lift! The hotel is in a pretty good location and comfort was good for the price paid. Very basic room which was enough. Walking distance to the main lake and a couple of other tourist sights. Choice of food everywhere you turned, so not bad overall.

Lovely Staff, great value ”

Staff friendly, good location, clean room

I booked this on a great deal at a night so was very happy with the value for money. Staff helped me to book a trip in halong bay for 3 days which was amazing. A downside to the room was that it had no window (well it had one but it was internal so you look down into a store room?) whereas the previous hotel I booked in same location and about the same price had a nice big balcony to overlook the crazy alleyway it was situated in. Another downside was that the room was right near a loudspeaker that cranks what i found out was the vietnamese radio station really loud out in the street from 6am! The horns and traffic are usually waking you up by this time anyway so it's just another sound to ad to the Hanoi soundtrack of chaos. Also the breakfast was very average. The staff made up for it though so funny and friendly.

Great location for Hanoi visitor ”

Stay right in the heart of Hanoi nightlife street, very close to Ho Guom, good price

Well, the hotel is not very beautiful or clean, but for the price it's very worth it. You can get the same price, or even higher for the same condition hotel but far away, not in the heart of Hanoi like this one. This hotel like I said, the best about it is not about the quality of the hotel, because the hotel's quality is just fair, but the price and where its located is the main point. It's on a small street very close to Ho Guom. It takes me like 10 mins to walk to Ho Guom. Around the hotel is A LOT of restaurant and street food, its also the nightlife area in Hanoi, very interesting.

Located in the old town, hence very noisy”

Centrally located, friendly and efficient staff, spacious rooms

My room was upgraded for a bigger family room, facing the street, which was on the 4th floor no lift. Although it was spacious and fairly clean, the plumbing in the bathroom was dated, with every tap and elbow leaking, hence soaking floor tiles and wet floor. The telly didn't work, neither did the aircon, but it was rather cold at night, so I didn't have to use it. Internet was OK. No insulation on windows and balcony doors and it is surely one of the noisiest streets in the old town, especially late at night when it's crowded with people sitting both sides of all the roads in the old town enjoying a meal or a drink and the cars hooting non-stop. Some weird activities with huge loud speakers involved at around 7am and 7pm every day for about 30 min. which would wake you up every morning if you are not an early bird and don't have good ear plugs, like I did. All in all it wasn't a comfortable stay, although the staff was friendly and it was easy to book tours with them since they are a tour agency and a good one. Breakfast was good.
