Nice breakfast and wonderful relaxing gardens, but best of all was the warm hospitality shown by the hostess and staff.

Pleasant and quiet location”
We stayed in Twenty Lodge for 3 night and booked 4 rooms in May 2016. We reached quite early at around 9am and the check in time is only at 2pm but they allowed us to keep our luggage at the reception room. The check is fast and smooth. The man and the lady at the reception (didn’t get their name) was very helpful. We got room number T02, T03, T04 and T05 on 1st floor and the room was so beautiful, clean and spacious. The hotel has a lovely and well maintained garden. We feel nice every time we walk pass the garden to our rooms. They also provide free drinks for those who uses the pool. This hotel is located at the quiet street and it’s safe. The man in the reception is willing to help us with our luggage when we were leaving the hotel. He also stood there until the van left the hotel. We feel very happy with the hospitality and service provided by him and their staffs. The hotel doesn’t have a spa. But I will highly recommend ‘Sense Massage and Spa’ which is located at the Arak road, very near to this hotel. All you have to do is, the minute you come out of this hotel, walk to your right straight till the junction. Then take the left turning and walk a few shops, and the massage and spa place is there. They do a great job with a cheaper price, you even get a 50% discount for the 2nd person on their spa package. Great ambience and worth trying. You may want to check their reviews on trip advisor. Just a few shops away from this hotel (same row), there is a small and simple hair salon and I will recommend this salon for those who wants to wash and blow their hair. The price is very cheap and the service is good. You may ask the receptionist on where exactly the salon is, they will guide you. And also there is a Thai restaurant run by an old couples just few steps away from Twenty Lodge (opposite to hair salon), they can hardly speak English but if possible please do support the old couples by having some meals in their restaurant.
Great litlle boutique hotel ”
we stayed in the 20 lodge for four nights and if we were to return to chiang mai we would definitely stay in the 20 lodge again. it was suggested to us as a recommendation and we would recommend it to others. the lodge is nicely decorated and the room includes an ipod dock, tv with english channels, hair dryer and a safety deposit box. we had showers at all times of the night and day and always found the water hot. for breakfast there was a choice of cooked thai, cooked european or a choice of cereal, yoghurt and fruit, all was tasty and plenty to meet our needs. all the staff at the lodge were very friendly and most had a good standard of english. the lodge is located within the old city and within walking distance of shops, restaurants and local wats. it is a short tuk-tuk ride away from the centre of town (thapae gate). make sure to take the hotel's address or the business card they provide you with because most taxi drivers do not know where it is, that's not to say its in the middle of nowhere, chiang mai is a big place. overall we really enjoyed our stay at 20 lodge and found the price reasonable for the quality and service we received. one small annoyance was that we were charged for chipping a glass bowl on the breakfast counter, so try and avoid breaking things! this would not have been the case in a european hotel.
Most wonderful place in Thailand”
Unbelievable experience for our family. The family at Twenty Lodge, including the owner and his wife, made our entire stay special from the moment we arrived and were greeted with iced butterfly pea flower tea. Each visit to the pool brought a smile and gift of tea and towel. The cleaning people were most attentive to our needs. And the landscaping is outstanding, making you feel like you reside in your own private garden. Beds were very comfortable. Air con was superb. Twenty Lodge is paradise within the Old City in Chiang Mai. If only every hotel could be like Twenty Lodge, the world would be a more loving and peaceful place.
Lovely Little Oasis”
I would absolutely recommend this hotel. I travelled for 4 nights to Chiang Mai where we based ourselves to get out and about the local area and beyond. My parents (in their 60s) had one room, and me another. The rooms were large in size, ultra modern, very comfortable. As others have mentioned, there is a lot of polished concrete which indeed can be slippery. I wonder if The Twenty Lodge are able to apply a coat of non slip paint to make it less slippery when wet? We had no trouble however. Simply being aware seemed to be enough. Free bottled water supplied every day (as is the norm in Thailand), the front desk were enthusiastic and helpful, and jumping on the back of a red bus got us anywhere across Chiang Mai for 20 baht each so location wasn't an issue. It was nice to be somewhere quiet, and easy to get somewhere not so quiet. A nice walk to the Sunday Walking Market, near the North Western section of the ring road. Great little green oasis with swimming pool to escape the heat. PS Couldn't hear the previously mentioned rooster!
A perfect guesthouse well located for Chiang Mai.”
If the Twenty Lodge is not perfection, then I don't know what is. From the moment I was warmly greeted by the manager and his staff to the personal airport drop off I was treated like an honoured guest. The guesthouse is conveniently situated in a quiet lane located right in Chiang Mai old town just a few minutes walk from the centre. The Kad shopping mall is also easy to walk to in the other direction. The standard of accommodation is superb, and is very well thought out. There is a pool for cooling off and plenty of places to sit or lie down and relax outside. The included breakfast had plenty of choice and very good quality. They even made poached eggs especially for me, even though they were not on the menu. The manager and his staff are very knowledgeable and recommended some good atractions, markets and restaurants. In no way could I fault the hotel. 10 out of 10 all round,
3 NightSuperb Stay!”
Lovely oasis in the heat of Chiang Mia. In between two main roads along a quietish alley and within walking distances of most of the tourist attractions. However, tuk tuks always about and reasonable fares. The Twenty Lodge itself is set amongst a well cared for garden and has a unique atmosphere. The room we had, Room 10, was perfect. Large space and at the back end of the property so very quiet. The staff were excellent and very helpful without being intrusive. Jeab was on duty for most of our stay and she made us feel very welcome and always with a smile. Jeab even brought us out a cold drink and fresh melon when we used the swimming pool for a few hours.Thank you, Jeab. My wife and I have travelled extensively and found The Twenty Lodge to be one of the best accommodations we have stayed in. We will definitely use the Twenty Lodge again.
A beautiful place”
We stayed at the Twenty Lodge on two occasions and absolutely loved it. It is a little bit off paradise, located close to the West Moat, in a very quiet street. The breakfast was served in the garden, or near the pool. The garden is delightful and well kept. The rooms were quiet, spacious, nicely decorated and the beds were very comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The night watch man always helped us parking our bicycles and provided torchlight. We have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending the Twenty Lodge to anyone who wants a pleasant stay in Chiang Mai.
Twenty Lodge is a lovely stay in Chiang Mai”
Everything about the Twenty Lodge is lovely. Lovely, attentive staff; beautiful, clean, comfortable rooms; beautifully landscaped; lovely breakfast each morning. The location is on the far side of the old city from most of the tourist hubbub, which is great if you like to retreat from all the action to a quieter, greener spot. Highly recommend and would absolutely stay here the next time I'm in Chiang Mai.
Hidden Gem in Chiang Mai”
What a surprising delight The Twenty Lodge Chiang Mai was. We stayed for one night after a late arrival in Chiang Mai after an 8 hour trip from Northern Laos. We were warmly greeted by the staff and received excellent customer service from all staff during the short stay. The rooms are comfortable, sylish and modern - we especially liked the polished cement floors! I'd highly recommend this hotel, it's a great and economical option in the old city with a small pool for those hotter days.
A perfect gem”
The Twenty Lodge is a calm oasis in busy, bustling Old City. The rooms are spacious, well-designed--with a special sense of detail. The beds were the most comfortable we found in a two-week stay in Chiang Mai. The staff, owner and manager, are exceptionally kind. Really, a special, budget-priced boutique hotel!
Attractive, clean, well-run small hotel”
My wife and I spent a week here in a superior room overlooking the pool at the front of the hotel. The most outstanding element of this hotel is its staff. Everything from serving breakfast to making up the room to organizing tours and other services was done with high efficiency. But what really stood out was the genuine interest they demonstrated in ensuring our stay in Chiang Mai was a great one. When there was a mix-up with a tour operator over which tour we were on, we were immediately surrounded by hotel staff, working their mobiles to sort out the issue, even though they bore no responsibility for the mix-up. Later on, we had one of the service staff, who was not involved but had heard about the mix-up inquire as to whether everything had turned out ok and whether we had a good day. It's hard to have a bad day when everyone is that nice to you. The hotel itself is good value for money. Our room was large, kept spotlessly clean and everything worked. Its level of amenities was what you would expect for the price. Breakfasts were adequate (again in keeping with the price) and set us up for a good day of sightseeing (choice of western or Thai). The pool is small but set in attractive gardens, ok for a plunge and sunbathing. It is in the northwest corner of the old city, so it is a long walk (about 3km) for those who are in town for the nightlife centred on the east gate of the city. The only con about the hotel was the room was not very soundproof. We could clearly hear people having breakfast in the morning downstairs outside our window and activity in the street, although it is not a very busy street, so this was sporadic. This would probably not be a problem in other rooms but our room was at the front. That said, the noise was not so loud as to be a problem. All up, I would thoroughly recommend The 20 Lodge as a relatively convenient place to stay at a reasonable price and one that takes care of all the necessities so you free to enjoy yourself.
Beautiful, clean, homely lodge ”
We all enjoyed our stay at this lovely little lodge, a beautiful garden and a small pool for my 4 year old to play in were excellent extras to compliment a great room with a really comfortable bed and sofa. The staff were lovely as were the croissants, fruit, yoghurts, fresh coffee and cooked breakfasts offered each morning. 20 lodge had everything we needed. They do not serve food except for breakfast but Chiang Mai has countless eateries of all types. The location could be seen as positive or negative - lovely quiet, peaceful corner of the old city, away from the main tourist side of the old city. Thapae gate is a reasonable walk or a short songtaew drive away.
Neat hotel at a great price”
the twenty lodge is a neat newer hotel located at the northeastern part of the old city. the rooms are bright, nicely appointed, with a modern design. there is a pool, a breakfast area with indoor and outdoor seating, and the management is very helpful with things to do in chaing mai. the minuses is it is somewhat far from the night bazaar and many restaurants, but the hotel itself more than makes up for that. i highly recommend staying here!
Wonderful place to stay ”
The twenty lodge was a great choice for us . Lovely staff , excellent rooms which were very clean and well kept . The staff couldn't do enough for you . My only negative was the breakfast menu was a little light with choices for gluten free and the other negative was the driver ( I think part of the hotel ) asked 250 For Baht to drop us to the bus station .. a bit rich considering we had paid 256 to go 3 hours luxury coach to Chiang Rai. W knocked him back to 200 baht but left a sour taste after all the wonderful things the 20 lodge had done for us ..this was out final Impression !
We had an interesting time.”
Twenty lodge only had twenty rooms so was small and intimate encouraging guests to be interactive. The staff were keen to please even the night watchman who met us at the gate with a torch when we arrived home in the evening. Because of the position we could walk around inside the old city where there was many interesting sights. Also a short distance away was a large shopping mall just outside the wall/moat which surrounds the old city.
Small quite hotel - great location - free WiFi”
this hotel is located inside the north west corner of the old city of chiang mai, close to the moat. we stayed for 3 nights and thouroughly enjoyed it. we will definately stay here again when travelling to chiang mai. the coffee was great and the breakfast more than enough. it was freshly prepared and we did not have to wait long. you had fruit/ yogurt/ bacon & egss (do not expect what you will get in a big hotel) from such a small establishment. the hotel itself is new, clean comfortable rooms - beautifully presented, lovely landscaped gardens small pool but perfect to cool down in. we found it to be great value for money. it was out of the hussle and bussel and still easy walking distance to some lovely restaurants. easy to get around by tuk-tuk to the night market and any attractions. we did some organised tours and saw a lot in the three days.
The Twenty Lodge”
If you're looking for a contemporary upgrade to what you would normally expect in a mid range guesthouse, this may be for you. Obvious thought has been given design wise to make you feel you're getting something special. The room (deluxe) was large with flat screen tv, in room wi-fi, a fridge with complimentary water and a separate bathroom with funky / functional shower (forget your handheld!). Management were more than accommodating, for example provide a power extension so I could recharge phone/laptop. The eating area was separate to everything else, maybe to create that personal feel and the pool very inviting indeed! Of a night time, there was a guard out the front which given the size of the guest house (small) was added security. I'm a walker, not a cyclist or a tuk-tuk dude, so the Twenty Lodge was a little far away from where I wanted to be (Tha Pae Gate). For those with laptops, storing in your room was in a draw with key (i.e. no safes). Overall, stay enjoyable, although price maybe a tad high.
Beautiful hotel and very caring staff. ”
I had a wonderful stay at the twenty lodge. It is walking distance of all the local night markets and many great restaurants and temples. The staff really went out of their way to make sure I had the best possible time in Chiang Mai. The rooms are spacious, clean, bright, pretty much perfect!! Great value for what you get!!!!
Attentive staff, great location”
we had a very pleasant experience at this hotel in chiang mai. location is great, as you are within the old city walls. everything is within walking distance, and if it's farther, the tuk-tuk's don't rip you off like they do in phuket. i think we paid baht to get from 20 lodge over to the river/night bazaar which is intense! peter (manager) was the most polite, helpful, and most informative people we had the pleasure to meet in all of thailand. i would recommend this hotel solely based on how awesome this guy is. see my tripadvisor review if you want more details.
Superb hotel in a lovely quiet location”
Our stay at The Twenty Lodge was one of our best ever experiences from a boutique hotel. The owner was one of the friendliness people I have ever met and was always there if you needed help. Service within the hotel was always great and we would definitely return one day. As for location, I found this to be perfect as it allowed us to mix more with locals and not be swamped with tourists like you would at other parts of the old city.
