Cheap cheerful home”
A French owner, lovely chap, he himself cooks. Place is on main road so you will hear traffic especially if room is nearest to the road. However it was such cute place, clean, excellent value, good location you can go either way south or north. It’s worth the price for sure. Food was yum, pool table, it’s not luxury but that’s not what I wanted. I’m after clean and bug free and this was. WiFi great too. I would highly recommend if you want a place which almost feels homely. John is a great help too helped me sort out my sim and car hire.

Clean, friendly and very good quality price”
The rooms are really clean compared to other, more expensive dorms and resort. The owner is supercool and helpful, he gives a lot of information about the life on Phangan and you can ask him anything. The staff is cute and very nice. It is close to the road and not far from many spots and parties on the island (haad rin, jungle, maya, loi lay, etc.), so you can go and return with the motorbike.

3 Night Stay for Full Moon Party”
The hostel was in an amazing location for us. I was initially sceptical of being so far away from Haad Rin, but having since been there, I’m glad we were! You’re two minutes walk from the beach, and have plenty of eateries, 7/11, bike rentals places etc within 1-2 minutes walk. It’s about ten minutes in a taxi from the pier, right on the main road. Stephane the host was excellent, particularly with orientating us when we got there, and gave us some wonderful recommendations for exploring the island. The rooms were basic but comfortable, albeit quite expensive given it was the Full Moon Party. Air Conditioning was an extra fee (150-200 Baht per day) which I didn’t realise when booking. That seemed excessive, given how much the rooms already were costing.

Dirty place and noisy”
Upon our arrival we wanted to take a nap, but the beds were dirty and disgusting, also the towels had yellow stains. Apart from the noise which is obvious, the lack of cleaning and the whole feel of a run down place forced us to leave immediately. I am sorry but the other reviews are not telling the truth about this place. We are on the road for 30 days and our budget is 800 baht, we only stayed in better places.very dissapointed.

Great place, beat host ever ”
The bungalows at orchards (although they might get a new name soon) got recently purchased by a French guy who's a really really great host. He had all sorts of tips and tricks for exploring the island, for the full moon party and every bring else one might ask for, including transportation and where to go next. The bungalows are clean and nice and a really great deal at that price. AC is working perfectly as well. Thanks to the great owner/host and his excellent bar staff, this is a recommendation without any limits!

dirty towels, room was old and worn with dirty walls, laundry service horrible . 150 baht for 2 kilos, clothes smelled horrible and had to pick the up myself from hanging (in the restaurant)

Séjour à refaire”
L'accueil du personnel et du gérant plaira à tout le monde ! Ils sont tous là pour être à votre service et vous donner de très bons conseils. Malgré une ouverture récente, tous les services (location, jeux, organisation du retour, ETC...) que l'on souhaite sont proposés. La qualité et la propreté de la chambre était bonne. Le restauration et notamment le Burger au top ! Je conseille ce resort à tous, notamment à ceux qui ont du mal en anglais. Stéphane (une spéciale pour les bretons) saura vous guider.

Un français bien sympathique tient cet hôtel qui mérite bien un 4 sur 5. Nous avons apprécié cet hôtel calme, discret et familial. Bon établissement. Il manquerait juste une petite piscine pour être bien bien bien.

Ich war anfangs etwas irritiert, weil niemand das Hotel unter dem Namen "TheVelvet" kannte...?! (es hat erst vor ein paar Monaten unter neuem Namen eröffnet) Hab's aber doch gefunden und war wirklich sehr zufrieden. Stefan is unglaublich offen und hat wirklich alles getan, um einem den Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu machen. Auch das Ambiente ist wirklich sehr gemütlich. Für junge und jung gebliebene Leute absolut richtig 😊

Heel mooie/propere kamers. Bij aankomst direct goed ontvangst door eigenaar. Personeel heel goed en behulpzaam. Nadien door eigenaar tips gekregen waar de leukste plekken zijn op het eiland. Heel tevreden over het verblijf.
