Great location, beautiful rooms! ”
Great location, at the quiet end of the Old Town but in easy walking distance of the night market and other attractions. Rooms are are set back from the street and quiet. We enjoyed the private balcony. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Charming villa with attractive rooms and delightful staff”
This is a very pleasant place to stay with unusual and attractive large rooms. The location is at the quiet end of the Main Street and the staff are delightful, charming, friendly and helpful. The breakfast is not as ample as in larger hotels but, after all, the price is reasonable. I would happily recommend it and stay there again myself.
Great location and view of the mountains”
Stayed here for 3 nights having in the past stayed quite a distance away - requiring transportation to and from previous hotels- so decided to find somewhere closer on the peninsula to stay. There were some niggling problems at he start of my stay but was quickly remedied by the very helpful staff especially the manager - Dong. I note that there were previous reviews about the hot water system to which I find this to be a common occurrence in other hotels too - such as “My Dream”. Just run the hot water on for a few minutes before jumping in. Pro: Go for the mountain view rooms at all cost - it is worth it. Great location on the peninsula. Other than the temple drums sounding the morning gathering of monks, the actual rooms are set back from the main road - no traffic noise. Con: It would be nice if the hotel could provide a shuttle service to and from he airport like other hotels. Otherwise, a nice little hotel at a reasonable price. I will be back one day.
Very good hotel”
Good location Spacious rooms Friendly staff Adequate breakfast Would return for 3rd visit next year
A great hotel just next to Wat Sop Sickharam”
A great small hotel, very well located, clean and very comfortable. I was in Luang Prabang only one night, but the hotel made my stay very comfortable. Amazing view from the Mountain View room on the second floor, with private balcony. There is a separate “wet room” with shower and toilet, and the bathtub is in the room itself to take advantage of the view. Even with the curtains open, there are no other buildings with a view in so the while the bathtub has a view there is no view of the bathtub. Breakfast served at the hotel is sufficient, with a menu selection of possibilities, but those expectating a large buffet might be disappointed. There were only a few other guests when I stayed there, as it was low season, so the hotel was very peaceful and calm. The staff was very friendly and helpful in arranging private transportation to the Kuang Si Falls early in the morning before my flight out at a very reasonable price, and provided a towel so I could swim.
Quiet hotel close to everything”
The hotel is located at the quiet end of the main street but still close to everything including both rivers. The staff was polite but very timid and many could not speak English but that was ok. The room is large and bed and linens are very comfortable. We asked for a second chair because there were 2 desks and received it right away. The view is nothing special. We looked over the tile roof of the next hotel to see trees and a hillside. The deck had 2 very uncomfortable wooden chairs in permanent lounge position, not good for reading or looking out. We would have used the deck if there had been different chairs. They look nice but that's it. Breakfast served outside on the front porch at the roadside was okay. Coffee was muddy and juice was artificial. There was some fruit. Pastries were not fresh at all! There was a very accommodating woman manager who did a good job to oversee things. It would be nice if they got some comfy chairs and sun umbrellas for the large empty courtyard.
This sweet hotel is at the quieter end of town - except the 4am procession of the monks!! ”
I stayed at a more expensive place later and wished I could’ve gone back the the View Pavilion instead! Get something up at least one floor for a Mountain View - top floor presumably the best (and more expensive!).
Nice hotel we had the pavilon room very large and quiet.
Kind to give us early check in, clean room with bathtub. ”
Central loaction. Surprise that they even have turn down service which is very rare even for some 5 star hotel. Really value for money hotel.
Good Location ”
The hotel is at a good location. The rooms are quite special, none that I’ve seen before because of the bathtubs outside the bathrooms in specific rooms. The breakfast served here are also delicious based on local Lao cuisine. It is a good place to stay, will stay here if I have a chance to visit Laos again.
Exelent personel in the reception but they were pushing to sel tours to get their 10 % commision. If you order a tuk tuk by the reception they take also a commision , so just go out of the hotel and get one.
Great Location, Great Room, Great service”
Wonderful location, in the old town. Close to several temples; convenient if you want to join the morning alms ceremony. Easy walk to any place in old town. The room we had was absolutely beautiful. Big, bright, and airy. Our room overlooked the river, which was an added bonus. The furnishings were top-notch. Incredibly quiet at night. The best sleep we've had in a long long time. Service was excellent. When we had an issue, the front desk responded immediately. Breakfast was at the famous Le Banneton Cafe, which is a must visit if in Luang Prabang. Excellent value and highly recommended.
Nice place in center of old town”
Staff was very helpful. Breakfast was exceptional...they took us next door to a restaurant and we could order anything we wanted off the menu. Air conditioning could have been better but weather was exceptionally hot. Hotel owner was very accommodating and friendly. We will return.
Great Location ”
I had read before I visited that the locking systems were poor and that is in case the fact. However, since the place has staff watching I felt it was fairly secure ( but not if someone really wanted to enter.) The location is perfect, being close to the most historic Wats and yet a few blocks away from the noisy busy Night Market and main scene but an easy walk.
Staff eager to please”
I followed the advice of others and booked a mountain view room which is probably worth it as the donwstairs rooms look straight at the back of another hotel, though the chairs and cushions on the downstairs room balconies looked more comfortable than those upstairs. The staff were happy to arrange a tuk tuk to the bus station for me at no extra cost,
beautiful mountain view from 2nd floor”
Very nice mountain view from the 2nd floor. But if you stay on the 1st floor, maybe have better choice as you will not have mountain view but small garden. Restaurants & Cafes are all around town, from local noodle soup to French, Indian, Italian, etc. Staff are very friendly and our daughter git a Xmas present from the hotel ! Thank you vey much ! Over all, we were very satisfied with this hotel and are willing to come back again.
View pavilion is in a good position ”
The hotel is set back from the road, the road being the main café restaurant area. However whilst generally quiet the rooms in the courtyard close to the restaurant next door are not quiet from 5:30 in the morning. So avoid rooms 101 to 103& 201 to 203
The View Pavilion was a great hotel! The location is great (nice and quiet but easy walking distance to main road and major attractions) and the view was spectacular. Definitely make sure you select a mountain view room on the second floor. The staff were friendly and attentive. I was so glad that I didn't choose a hotel with a Mekong view - that road is so noisy! I would absolutely stay here again if I came back to Luang Prabang.
Repeat guest because of the location. If your out and about and not one to lounge all day in your room then this is the place. The upstairs balcony views are special to sit an relax with a cold Beer Lao. I note there has been a turn around in staff, they are young and their training isn't the best. I do recommend not to have staff ask you when you will check out as it comes across as they they want to get rid of you especially when check out time is 12 noon and it's only 10am.
Location, Location Location. Right on the main road and withing walking distance of many venues. My only bug-bear was the large bathtub retro-installed in the main bedroom (not in the main bedroom). This takes up way too much space. WE used it to places our suitcases.
