        Deluxe Double with Mountain View

        Very good Boutique Hotel”

I stayed at the View Pavilion Hotel for 4 nights in February 2017. The hotel only has 12 rooms. I had booked a Mountain view double room on 1st floor (one up from the Ground). This had its own balcony with great morning views of the mountains with mist. The room was well laid out, with a huge bed. TV with some English channels (if you needed). Nice wet room bathroom with shower and hot water and unusually a bath in the main room (I never used it!). No safe in room, but reception & security 24 hours. Aircon worked well, although almost not needed at night. Breakfast was by voucher at the neighbouring café, and was also excellent - particularly the eggs, French bread and croissant. The Reception staff were particularly charming and helpful, and booked airport transfers, which saved a lot of hassle. They also had tours available to book, although I didn't try any of these. The hotel looks out onto a couple of small temples, which is very beautiful, and is about 5-7 minutes walk from the beginning of the night market, all along the same main road (but with very little traffic). There are loads of places within walking distance to go for food in the evening, from reasonably priced to top end. I will certainly try and stay here the next time I am in Luang Prabang.

        I loved this hotel”

Clean, beautiful views, wonderful staff, great location.
Some morning construction noise from a nearby hotel undergoing renovations (in May 2009 so hopefully finished by now?)

I stayed here for one week in May 2009. The view from my upper floor room was beautiful - lush green jungle and mountains. There was even a view from the shower. The staff were wonderful - very polite, friendly and helpful in booking tours and providing information. They waited up for me every night to make sure I made it home safely. As a woman travelling alone I felt very safe at this hotel. The breakfast was good - although a little more variety would've been nice. The room was immaculately clean and the maids did wonderful little arrangements with the clean white towels and orchids every day on the bed - a small point but is an example of the attention to detail paid by the staff. The location of the hotel is perfect - its at the quieter end of Luang Prabang but is just a five minute stroll to the main street, market and temples. I can't say enough good things about this place - it was my favourite hotel in my month long stay in SE Asia. There is a lot of construction in Luang Prabang as tourism is booming. Unfortunately, a hotel near The View Pavillion was undergoing renovations and they started every morning at 7:30am - so breakfast on the lovely open patio was really noisy sometimes. Hopefully the reno's are finished by now.....

        Comfortable Christmas Stay”

Staff, location, everything but the bed
Bed; it was the hardest bed I have ever slept on in five years of living and traveling in Asia

The hotel had a gentleman waiting for us at the airport even though our flight was 45 minutes late due to fog. The staff hauled our heavy suitcases up to the second floor to a beautiful mountain view room. The room included a beautiful soaking tub...in the bedroom. Being two single ladies (friends not a couple) this amused us to no end. Neither of us wanted to wait outside or on the balcony while the other soaked-especially since Luang Prabang is not warm most of the day around X-mas. For romantic couples the large! tub with dual headrests would be fun. Luckily the bathroom had a shower and a drape for the connecting window. The rooms were cleaned quickly and completely usually while we ate breakfast. The housekeeping staff always made cute towel animals/forms (the lotus with real lotus in the middle was my favorite) and left fresh flowers and/or fruit/nuts/snack for us. Breakfast was chosen from a short menu with 2-5 items under various categories. You could choose as many or as few as you wanted. The staff were wonderful and practiced their English with me and their Thai with my friend. I also practiced my Thai and we both learned some Lao. They had good suggestions for everything from shopping to eating and would let us know the price we should be paying for boat trips, tuk tuks, etc. We were touched by the X-mas present they left on each guests door- chocolate in a handmade silk bag. Very sweet. The boutique guesthouse is on the far end of the peninsula about 3 minutes stroll from the Xiang Thong temple and about 3 minutes from the Tamarind Cafe where you can have the best tamarind juice in your entire life. The mountain view rooms do include the view of the roofs of the houses right on the street below (the one that borders on the Nan Kham river) but that is only if you look down. We felt entirely safe walking around after dark. If you do not enjoy stairs (not many but wow you needed long legs) get a room on the first floor.

A great hotel just next to Wat Sop Sickharam”

A great small hotel, very well located, clean and very comfortable. I was in Luang Prabang only one night, but the hotel made my stay very comfortable. Amazing view from the Mountain View room on the second floor, with private balcony. There is a separate “wet room” with shower and toilet, and the bathtub is in the room itself to take advantage of the view. Even with the curtains open, there are no other buildings with a view in so the while the bathtub has a view there is no view of the bathtub. Breakfast served at the hotel is sufficient, with a menu selection of possibilities, but those expectating a large buffet might be disappointed. There were only a few other guests when I stayed there, as it was low season, so the hotel was very peaceful and calm. The staff was very friendly and helpful in arranging private transportation to the Kuang Si Falls early in the morning before my flight out at a very reasonable price, and provided a towel so I could swim.

Terrific hotel, well located, very comfortable”

Great location -- on the main drag but away from the street; at the transition from shopping to temple district. Great room -- large, light, comfortable, with a view over the rooftops to the mountains. Very helpful staff.
The only real complaint that I have is that there are NO towel racks anywhere. And the bathtub in the room is odd -- there's a shower in the bathroom. But minor points.

Booked this because the hotels I had heard of were all full, and I had read a couple of good reviews by other travelers. Was *very* happy with it. Costs a little more than most places in Luang Prabang, but worth it. Excellent location right at the end of the shopping district and beginning of the temple district (even though the temples ring bells and drums at 4 am). On the main drag but back from the street; not far from the quieter river, the Nam Khan. Great room. I had a mountain view room on the 2nd floor (which I recommend), even though I had booked garden view (1st floor). Even the garden view rooms are above ground level, so people walking past don't look right into the room; but mountain view rooms are more private and have better view. All rooms have sliding glass doors onto a deck. Excellent staff service, excellent breakfast. Couldn't have been cleaner.

        Peaceful weekend in Luang Prabang”

very well located, in a quiet area of town. nice and very clean room. loved the bed decoration very good service at breakfast time.
breakfast could be more elaborate, with cheese and ham ,some pastries.

These 3 days at Luang Prabang were incredibly relaxing for me coming from Hanoi, where the noise of motorbikes, and cars drives a person crazy at times. Noneof this in Luang Prabang: its an oasis of peace and tranquillity!! Its a place of relaxation and meditation at the numerous buddhist temples you will visit here. The drive to the waterfalls in a tuc tuc across the winding roads of the country side was interesting as were the falls itself, and swimming in one of the blue pools, a life time experience. With the variety of flowers you discover here in the many gardens and parcs, I call this place: the garden of Eden. At the night market you will find an enormous selection of goods, from colourful silk scarfs, to beautiful silver bracelets and necklaces, you can easily do all your Xmas shopping in one night at this place. There are many little restaurants on the main road for everyones taste and wallet. yes it is really a lovely place to spend the weekend and recharge your batteries!!

Wonderful location, in the old town. Close to several temples; convenient if you want to join the morning alms ceremony. Easy walk to any place in old town. The room we had was absolutely beautiful. Big, bright, and airy. Our room overlooked the river, which was an added bonus. The furnishings were top-notch. Incredibly quiet at night. The best sleep we've had in a long long time. Service was excellent. When we had an issue, the front desk responded immediately. Breakfast was at the famous Le Banneton Cafe, which is a must visit if in Luang Prabang. Excellent value and highly recommended.

        Great Value and Location”

The View Pavillion Hotel is located on the quiet end of the main street in Luang Prabang. It is right next door to wonderful cafes and massage options and across the street from magnificent wats. The staff is wonderfully helpful, can recommend activities, guide you to transportation and spa or food options and never fail to meet a request. The room we stayed in was large, comfortable and inviting. There is no on site pool, spa or restaurant, but we found that exploring the many options in town was great fun and worth the little extra effort.

        Excellent”

The View Pavilion was a great hotel! The location is great (nice and quiet but easy walking distance to main road and major attractions) and the view was spectacular. Definitely make sure you select a mountain view room on the second floor. The staff were friendly and attentive. I was so glad that I didn't choose a hotel with a Mekong view - that road is so noisy! I would absolutely stay here again if I came back to Luang Prabang.

Location. Room size and layout. Service.
Not right in the middle of town but only a 5 min walk.

We stayed at the View Pavillion over the water festival in April. We had an amazing time, and the hotel was a great place to stay. Though there were frequent power and water cuts when we were there, this is the case everywhere in Luang Prabang. The hotel do their best not to inconvenience you during these cuts, bringing you battery powered lights and buckets of water! The staff couldn't do enough to help you. They are incredibly attentive. The rooms are very nice and clean. Cleaners are good and trust worthy. Lots of choice for breakfast. Would definitely recommend.

The View Pavilion Hotel - Luang Prabang”

Great location for sites and restaurants; the rooms are very pleasant, the staff are fantastic and go out of their way to be helpful and accommodating.
There is nowhere to sit in the sun when you are done site-seeing, it would be great if they had something like a pool; but they don't!

We were presently surprised to find that the hotel had sent a car to collect us from the airport, so please remember to put your arrival details in your Agoda booking form. The only problem was that the driver didn't deliver us to the door, more to the bottom of a long flight of stairs! The hotel is staffed by a team of young, happy and helpful people who simply go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The rooms are well maintained, clean and functional. This is a hotel that i would return to in a flash and am hapy to recommend it to anyone looking for a good hotel at a reasonable price. There is soooo much to do in Luang Prabang, and we were sorry to leave having only completed half of it. There are some great restaurants and the street food is also very good. It's important that you go prepared to bargain for everything you buy; the local tour operators can be a bit sharp and they leave themselves plenty of room to move on the price they initially quote.

Located on one the main streets in old town, a couple of blocks down from the bars and restaurants, which are closer to Mt. Phousi, making it really quiet at night. The staff are really lovely and breakfast is amazing. The rooms are a great size, really clean and the bathrooms are really great. Beautiful and great location”

Big and clean room with A/C and a comfortable bed. The water pressure was strong and there was consistent hot water when needed. The internet was good for the most part, but would occasionally need to be rebooted. The location is excellent and the area is quiet. There is a large temple literally across the street and the free breakfast at 3 Nagas is very good. I highly recommend if staying in Luang Prabang, which is an amazingly charming and wonderful town.

Great location, friendly staff & great breakfast next door at Bannerton”

Great location in the heart of Luang Prabang within walking distance of all tourist sites in the town. The staff were friendly & very helpful. Breakfast was served at the adjacent Bannerton cafe. Room was clean & bed comfortable with a nice veranda to sit on. We were upstairs & stairs are quite steep & deep so requesting ground floor would be preferable if not so agile

        Luang Prabang”

Great location, quiet except for construction but this was going on all over Luang. New rooms, beautifully presented, very spacious and comfortable
Think the managers are still finding their way with best way to run it and some of the fittings look like they may have been finished a little hurriedly. Bathroom has a great shower but unusual design.

We had a sensational time in Luang Prabang, in fact the 4 nights was not jsutice to this place. We had a superb location across the road from the morning monk prcoession and daily alms, it was generally a very quiet place and we were not far from either river and teh main eating and shopping area. Our location was almost unbeatable, loved Luang for its cleanliness, tranquility and ease of life. We will go back here for sure and spend more time. Highly recommended.

Best location for solo backpacker ”

This place had many nice supported staff and manager. If you have no idea where to go in Luang Prabang, you can ask their suggestions. (Both speaking Thai and English as well) The hotel is the begin of in town street, you can walk from here to other recommended place until Night Market zone.

Best prime location & nice room. ”

Best location, nice & clean room, friendly staff.

I've been Luang Prabang many times but just found the perfect match here. The hotel was very nice with very clean room. The location is only 3 steps away from the oldest temple in the city. Staffs so friendly and professional management team. Will I come back to stay here? Yes, absolutely 100%. Highly recommend to everyone.

The View Pavilion Hotel, Luang Prabang, Laos”

Good location, helpful staff, large room, good size bathroom with shower
Bath in sleeping area - no real advantage to this

The View Pavilion Hotel is a small (8 room) hotel situated just off the main street in Luang Prabang, near the Nam Khan River side of the old town. It is ideally situated for access to the temples, main street shops and restaurants and the night market and is within walking distance of all the main areas of the town. The rooms are a good size and clean. Hotel staff are very helpful. Breakfast is served in a second floor open pavilion, ideal for watching the sunrise after seeing the monks collecting alms at dawn.
