The Village Broadway offers accommodation in Sydney, located an 11-minute walk from Central Station and opposite the busy Broadway Shopping Centre. The Village Broadway boasts a lively onsite bar and is conveniently surrounded by a number of cafes and busy nightlife options. The Village Broadway is a 10 minute walk from Chinatown and a 20 minute walk from Darling Harbour. Hop on a bus from outside The Village Broadway, and you will reach Circular Quay, The Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge in less than 20 minutes. The Village Broadway offers a range of private rooms and shared dormitory rooms. All rooms feature modern furnishings and were renovated in May 2017. Free WiFi is available with a limit of 500 MB per day. Additional WiFi can be purchased for an additional charge. Communal areas include a shared kitchen, laundry and lounge room. The hostel is located above the Lansdowne Hotel, an iconic pub and live music venue, with events all week long from trivia, DJ’s and small local acts, to international names! The hostel is located below the Lansdowne rooftop bar, the perfect spot to catch a drink nestled among the hustle and bustle of Sydney City. All right at your doorstep! one of the worst hostels i’ve been to”
- Worst check in of my life, there isn’t anyone there, they have pieces of paper on the front door saying to check in online, which i did, they have another piece of paper saying if you don’t get your goki key email them, which I did, it also says if you don’t get a reply within 10 mins (which I didn’t) call them, which I did, several times, they never answered!! Yes I was there before 2pm check in but I wanted to put my bags down & use the bathroom so I could make the most of my day, like you can in all other hostels, but no, I had to wait around until the door opened and I could go up the stairs. Someone came to the stairs area, I asked if they worked here, they said yes but not today, and proceeded to not help at all, so I asked if I could go in to use the bathroom, he said yeah. Thankfully after a while I asked a cleaning lady about my room and she let me in as the bed was ready. - There is no explanation of where things are - the kitchen, the bathroom, the lounge area (still didn’t know where the lounge was when I left). - The make out that you can use the rooftop area - you can’t when the bar is open (they make out the bar is for the hostel but it’s for a different hotel)? So you have to eat your food in the crowded kitchen. - The bathroom was usually a state, always muddy floors and hair everywhere. If there are that many people using it it should be cleaned more regularly. Also there’s what looks like mould/damp on the shower ceiling, the shower head is the worst and the temperature is either too hot or it goes super cold for 2 mins and you have to wait for it to get hot again. - This place is meant to be newly renovated, but the blinds in the room are broken and you can’t close the window. - The sounds of the street and the music venue downstairs are very loud. - A long term guest plays music out of their speaker way too loud everywhere they go - just put headphones on!!

Be carefull!!!!”
I told the staff on the day of check-out and left my bag in the luggage storage, but when I came to pick up my luggage, my bag was cut with a knife and left in the toilet stall. Some items were stolen It was around 6:30, but there was no staff at the hostel, so I couldn't get proper help.

No reception. Hard to check-in. I try to call hotel number many times but no one answer. No towel, shampoo, mat... Everything not here. Noisy. Room very dirty.

Honestly! One of the best hostels ever! Great reception team. Location is central. However it is situated above a club. Besides that. Seriously great value for money. P.s choose this for a free breakfast!

Looks nice and new”
Had an issue with our reservation being suddenly cancelled though card has already been charged. There are 5 of us and we ended up being separated into 3 rooms which we don't really like. The staff managed to get us to pay cheaper though. Nice room, toilet with no ventilation. Kitchen is good but not equipped enough. Location is not bad but you can't say it's good. Very small luggage store. Very noisy in weekend nights because of the pub downstairs but earplugs are provided.

Checking-in was fine since everything there is self-serviced. That's one of the features that I liked about it. It was very clean, the stay, the kitchen and all. Not very quiet on a Friday night with all those people drinking downstairs. I had difficulty looking for the place at first. Convenient store is quite a walking distance away.
