Clean and the location is also great.”
Overall, it's very good. It's clean and close to the station, with shops, supermarkets, and convenience stores nearby. There's a kitchen, so you can cook for yourself. I would like to stay here again. However, only one bath towel is provided even for multiple nights. There is a washing machine, but no dryer. It's a lively area, so it might be a bit noisy outside. Overall, it's almost perfect. I recommend it.
Amazing Budget Stay”
I stayed 6 nights as a female solo traveller in the mixed gender bunk room. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I never interacted in person with staff, as I did self check-in, but they were very helpful and kind through messages. The facilities are clean - bathroom, common area/lounge, and there are closets for extra linens /towels as necessary. The location is great! One minute away from the train station in the wonderful area of shimokitazawa. Amazing value - including all fees and taxes, I paid 145 for 6 nights coming out to $24 CAD per night. The only things to note are that there isnt a secure luggage storage area - I brought a lock but it isn’t a locked luggage area - luggage is stored in the general common areas. Secondly, smoking is permitted and the lingering fumes can still be smelt from the bed area.
Disappointing.”
First of all, as I climbed the stairs to the hotel, there was at least one broken glass bottle (probably beer) and a ton of cigarettes butts everywhere. So cleanliness =0. As I got in the hotel, there were only two glasses for all customers to use. IDK it is just cheap. There is barely any soap in the soap dispensers in the bathroom and only paper towels to dry hands. The website shows that the dorms have windows in them. Ha… My dorm had none, extremely small, like no place to walk in it, only place for 2-3 suitcases otherwise you put your stuff in your bed. The blanket was the thinnest, smallest blanket i ever slept with, and I’m not even tall. Only reached my ankles. Anyway. Location is good neighborhood wise, but the place looks terrible. And the staff made no presence, nobody was there for either check in or checkout. Only reached out to me and other customers by email. I believe one of the staff came quickly in the evening while i was talking to another traveler, but the man looked at us with a very bad look on his face, even when I smiled and said hello he seemed insulted. This place has potential but so far I would not recommend it to anyone at all. Having stayed in a capsule hotel before, they’re more worth it. Also the people on the floor above kept making lots of noise and the people in the streets too. Jane.
You get what you pay for”
Make no mistake this is a hostel / capsule hotel. It’s a bed in a box and shared showers and bathrooms. It’s fine, but many single foreigners who want to party were guests, so it was a little loud with people coming and going in the middle of the night. If you want privacy and a place to relax, this isn’t it— but if you want to meet other solo travelers and have some fun in a very cool neighborhood for a cheap price in a fantastic location, come here. Shimokitazawa is cool, but one night and you can explore the whole place.
Great Stay Near the Station”
Only a few minutes walk form Shimokitazawa Station, the location is very convenient. The place is nice and clean, the bed is nice, but the dorm room and hallways are extremely narrow. There's a washing machine but no dryer and the closet laundromat is quite far. There's a bar upstairs on the 4th floor so maybe there could be some noise. But overall, if you only going to be staying in the area for a night or two, it's still definitely worth it.
