Overrated and oberpriced hotel without soul, pay 400 per night ans get cheap soap, old bathroom with fingertips everywhere, old carpets ect. No value for price! Check out wanted to debit my card twice (an experienced old hotel employee don‘t know how to process a normal credit card, I cant believe that) all in all very disappointing

Excellent Hotel”

Beautiful hotel on the street with the poshest hotels in the city. The area around the bar is stunning! Probably one of the best properties in Rome. 5 minutes walk from the Spanish steps. Large rooms with equally large washrooms. (not European standard to my relief!) Our room had a balcony as well. Reception staff is curt, concierge team is very sweet (not amazing with their suggestions), restaurant staff is helpful and so is the bell desk. Certain parts of the hotel certainly need upgradation and modernisation. Such as the TVs (not like we are watching much while travelling), the corridor to the rooms and some other smaller and insignificant things. I guess for this reason the Westing Excelsior is cheaper than some other 5 stars in the city. Overall it was completely worth it, had a great stay and totally glad I picked it. Highly recommended and will stay again. *Do go for a drink to the legendary Harry's Bar around the corner.

Its a big shame.”

The Staff is incredible. And you can guess that the installations of the hotel ONCE were incredible. But the price for what it offers is very disspointing. The Restaurant has very good food but are completely overpriced compared to the local trattorias. It´s just sad that you feel that the money that has been paid is obviosly not invested back in the facilities.

The Worst Hotel I've Experienced So Far in Europe”

Enough said with the title, Yeap ! I thought The Westin Excelsior Rome will mark the best of my honeymoon trip to Europe. It did; the worst one ! For a big hotel and such a well chain hotel, they should provide nice service. Instead what we experienced is the least thing. There are no provided tooth brush in the room, which we have to asked and waited for hours to have it delivered to our room for the first night. The first morning we want to ask for where to go places or where to eat, again, we have to be in lined to ask to the concierge, and they didn't bother to respond on our questions yet serving another people who just cut in line. So not to bother anymore, we decided to just took the map and went off on ourselves. Also, the other day we asked the hotel to reheat our breakfast from last night's leftovers, guess what, they don't want ! They said: I'm sorry sir, this is not from our hotel - I mean, come on ! Are you really stingy for using the microwave only ?!

Very comfortable stay! ”

The Excelsior is a lovely hotel... And we enjoyed our stay of 2 nights. Service is great and the concierge Marco was fantastic with his suggestions for eateries as well as shopping, as was Ekaterina! The Doney Cafe has superb fare and the desserts amazing! Location is fabulous as well..with lots of cafes, trattorias and shops all around the hotel. The hop on hop off bus tours have a stop just across the road on Via Ludovisi which was a great help! The only thing we missed was the electric kettle in the room ( due to it's heritage hotel status) as we are used to consuming large quantities of tea and coffee throughout the day...however, the hotel offers one serving of complimentary tea /coffee per guest per day, so atleast the morning tea was taken care of. The other thing which was a little disappointing was that although we opted for a Garden View Grand Deluxe Room on the Agoda site, we were told that the hotel does not have any Garedn View Rooms at all! The grand deluxe rooms are just larger rooms ( very large in fact!!) apparently all the rooms look out over other buildings...and probably the road on two sides as it's a corner property. Other than these two small hiccups, we did enjoy our stay here.

Amazing hotel!”

Grandeur, additional services, staff.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon, and were blown away by the hotel. The lobby is grandiose, there's usually someone on the piano in the evenings, the service is amazing, they have incredible additional services. Ie. We wanted to use the gym, but didn't have the gear. For a very small one-off fee, they lent us runners, socks, shirts and a top. All in our size! The lunch was delicious at their restaurant, however, breakfast was very underwhelming. For the price, we expected better quality and quantity. However, that would be the only drawback.

Not a 5 star service, sloppy services”

Large bed room size, Nice gym and sauna, Warm water swimming pool

We stayed at Westin Excelsior for 2 nights & couldn't be disappointed more on my stay. Service-wise it's not even a 3-star. Firstly, when I booked through Agoda, I put in my special request for a 2-bed and higher level room; but when I checked-in, the receptionist asked me again what kind of room I preferred. I think if they simply read my request they would have known. Check-in was also incredibly slow. After the 1st night, the bathroom was NOT throughoutly cleaned. The open shampoo bottle left in the bathroom was left open and was NEVER replaced with the new toiletries. The hair on the floor in the shower was never picked up. They also didn't pack the hair dryer and left it at wherever I left it at before I went out that morning. We also asked for a kettle to boil hot water on our 1st night; when we were back on the 2nd day, the kettle was GONE. We ended up having to call and ask for another one without an apoloy from them. On our 3rd day, we asked for a late check-out (1pm instead of 12pm) and they said it was ok. We went out in the morning, got back to the hotel and tried to pack at 12:06pm. HOWEVER, when we tried to access our room at 12:06pm, the access card did NOT work already & we had to go back to the reception area and asked for an extension of the access card to 1pm. I cannot believe this happened only after 6 mins after 12pm they actually made the access card not work already when they said it was okay for a later check-out. I think it was to set the card unable to access the room at 12pm SHARP. I might sound a bit picky here for some of the things I've said but I think this is what one should expect on a 5-star hotel with great history like the Westin Excelsior. This kind of service might be OK (MARGINALLY) for a 3-star hotel but definitely not acceptable for a 5-star hotel that should be used to serve high standard customers.

La estadia en la ciudad eterna de Roma se vuelve magica cuando se hospeda uno en un Hotel emblematico y asi se le puede considerar al hotel Excelsior donde se han hospedado las mas grandes personalides del mundo.
