The trainee at the reception is just too bad”
This would be the first time I rated the Westin hotel service so low given I had very bad experience here in GUAM. The trainee at the reception was checking my reservation for over 10 minutes, we were standing there, and then she referred me to the VIP counter where I am the JW member and deserved the service. She didn’t tell the staff my reservation and the second staff spent another 10 minutes checking my room again. I spent over 20 minutes doing check-in. I don’t know why this happened but I don’t think this is JW or Westin standard. The rest is all good, except the reception service.
Great location, courteous and friendly staff.”
Very convenient location for the Tumon shuttle tram service whhich will get you around Guam, as the bus stop is right in front of the hotel. There is also a free Shuttle bus service that will take u to the hotel from the Galleria duty free shop that runs every 10 minutes. only disappointment: wifi is not free in the room.
Great location”
Hotel is a bit old and sorry, but staff are great. The bathroom wasn't flushing properly but they got it fixed quickly. A bit overpriced but it's the same all over Guam especially Tumon area. Great beach though and had a good afternoon nap on white sands right in front of the hotel.
hotel with great private beach and close to shops”
The check in was smooth and fast, the room was clean with an amazing view. we stayed at the royal beach club level, our breakfast area was not crowded however with not a lot of selection. the perks of being at the royal beach club level includes free transportation (we had not used), cabana at beach only available to royal beach club members. location of the hotel is excellent, however it is not as convinent as the outrigger, since it is connected to the shoppping area. it was a less than 5 mins walk to DFS and other shoppings and food. The shops closes at 11 pm in guam, and theres not much to do at night, so its best to stay near the shopping area. There is a hut for beach gears rental on the westin beach area, the prices are reasonable. overall, it is an pretty good hotel, with a breath taking view of the guam ocean.
Staycation”
If you are looking for a weekend get away, this is the place to go. The Westin is just right above the center of Tumon and everything is within walking distance. The room was great and clean and had an ocean view with a view of the mountain in the back.
Tumon bay best is the sea!”
the westin resort Guam is more a 4 stars hotel than a 5 stars. Food is over priced. Best is to go for the buffet (they have 2 buffets). Rooms are ok. The hotel has an excellent location and an excellent access to the beach with all facilities. Staff is really helpful. The Manager on Duty was outstanding.
Mostly OK, but...”
I stayed at the hotel for five nights with my family. It was mostly good, but there was still room for improvement. First off, the toilet seat cover was broken on the first day. I called the service desk and the repairman came quickly to fix it. However, I felt if the staff had checked the room condition more thoroughly, they would have found the problem beforehand and fixed it so that a guest like me won't be bothered to ask for repair. Secondly, the cleaning staff didn't seem to clean the floor while I stayed. I left some piece of plastic wrapping on the floor (not on purpose, but I found it right before I headed for the beach and expected it would be gone after the cleaning staff make up the room). When I came back, obviouly they have made up my room but the plastic wrapping was still on the floor. Since it is a five-star hotel, I expected more thorough cleaning. Lastly, I have read positive comments about their breakfast buffet, but it was below my expectations. The "hot" water was lukewarm, waffles tasted like they have been cooked many hours ago, and the waiting staff didn't smile much in general. If they think their competitors are not only other hotels in Guam but also hotels in similar destinations (like those in southeast Asia), I think the staff should be more hospitable and smiling. Their unsmiling faces were such a striking contrast to the servers I saw in Phuket last year. Overall, my kids liked the sea there so I would probably visit Guam again. And I would probably stay at Westin because of its location. It's close enough to major restaurants and other shopping places but their beach is kind of separated from other resorts, so I noticed it was less crowded. However, I hope I won't experience similar problems next time.
good hotel facing the ocean”
The hotel is located on the Tumon Bay and it is just a few minutes walk away from restaurants etc and so convenient to hang out any time. Air conditioner is a bit noisy but still ok.
Good location good location good location ”
We are traveling in a big group of 3 generations and aimed to spend lots of time at sea, Weston's direct access to beach allows us to have intermittent rests during the day. Part of the swimming pool remains in shade gives good shelter during hours of strong sun. Very calm waters vs nearby Nikko, which I think is important for snorkelling. Beach operator at Westin knows the site well and their friendly staff know exactly where to take us to find sea animals in a non disruptive manner which is important too! Convenience store, fast food & good quality eateries outside Westin within 15 mins walk a big plus, which means we don't have to rent a car for our entire trip, but only on days we need to venture farther south.
Great location, best beaches ”
The private beach is so great! The restaurant is the best in Guam, but need the reservation as it's always fully booked. We will choose the same hotel next time.
very good”
Great value for money room. Even after it is selected. The hotel is very good in the Guam.
First time in Guam”
Westin is a very reputable hotel group and genuinely lives up to it name. Aside from the one in Macau, this was our second time staying in a Westin. We have made the right choice.
Great location and good beach side ”
Was happy to stay at Westin. One thing I was disappointed was the breakfast buffet. Totally wasted of money. They should care about the quality of food they served.
Great location...”
Good location, quiet surroundings, good beach... I enjoyed the snorkeling on the beach right in the back of the hotel, and enjoyed eating meals near the hotel... The location is good that it's not too far from restaurants and stores, and that it's not too close to the busiest area of people and cars... The beds at the hotel were comfortable... The view from the room was okay, could see the ocean partially and sunset from the room.
good location, old hotel facility”
the beach in front of the hotel is great, almost private. water is so clean and shallow. hotel is old, should be more than 10 years. room size is ok. we lived in the royal club rooms and have the free bar, which is nice.
Not 5 stars”
Air conditioner did not work well and it was unbearably hot, especially during the peak h ours of the day. Finally changed rooms on 3 night. Stayed on Club Lounge level with access to executive lounge. Food during cocktail hour was sub-par. Coffee was weak and espresso machine wasn't working. Rooms are old and very dated. Stairwells were filthy with food and trash on the floor. The place is surrounded by ADULT stores, massage parlors and other inappropriate surroundings for small children. This is a 3 to 4 star hotel at best. I understand Guam is an island but I assessed it from an international standard. I am a expat who travels in Asia at least 2 or 3 times per month.
great service”
nice hotel with great location. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Love the rooms we stayed during our anniversary and thanks for the sweet card sent to our room :)
it was wonderful”
we're fun with Westin as a family costomer!!
Great for solo or couple or family”
Really great hotel and great staff location is amazing and you never really have to leave the hotel pool, beach, dinners!!!! Ask for the newest and best Manager Mr. Arnell Galendez...... he is a great guy!
Great location ”
The hotel was conveniently located within walking distance to restaurants and shops. DFS was a 5 min walk from the hotel which was awesome. The beach also felt more private and was not as crowded as the other side. We booked at the Royal Beach club floor so the rooms were spacious and the beds were amazingly comfy. Although its convenient to have breakfast and cocktails in the lounge, I think the service can be improved. During meal time, they always run out of utensils or at times there is a need to replenish the drinks or food but its quite difficult to ask for assistance since there would normally be only 1 person by the reception who is always busy assisting other guests. But when its time to take the food out, all of a sudden you see 2-3 staff in full force wasting no time to take away the buffet set up! Although the staff are generally friendly, I just don't understand why there is a lack of personnel during peak hours.
