Amazing hotel ”
One of the best hotel I suppose in Toya area, Luxurious and I highly recommend it for the amazing view over Toya. Highly amazing service that pamper all kinds of travellers. Amazing food served during breakfast and not forgetting a wonderful bakery. Highly recommend to everyone visiting Toya

We had supreme lake view room. The view was great. Hotel had super good service. But below are some ”
1/ Male and female uses outdoor hot spring in turns. We did not have chance to use outdoor. The hot spring was indoor with frosted glass which means no view at all. We stayed in some other hot spring hotel in Hokkaido. Their price were more reasonable with beautiful view that you can enjoy during hot spring. 2/ Not environmental friendly? I came across this strange thing in bakery shop: I bought around 4-5 pieces of bread and ask the shop keeper to put all bread in one paper bag when pay. (I did not want to waste 4-5 paper bags) The shop keeper rejected and ask me not to eat in lobby but in room. I AM going to eat in my room not in lobby. WHY WOULDN’T I? She was rude judging me like that. But since her English was not very good and I did not want to argue so it’s fine then I ask no need plastic bag (did not want to waste a plastic bag to put all paper bagels in. I intended to take the paper bags back room) she rejected too and acted even more rude when packing my bread. Not sure if saving plastic/paper bags is Japanese culture that I offended. If yes, please accept my apology. If not, I would suggest the hotel be more environmental friendly.

Hotel rooms with superb view. The only set back is that lunch and dinner have to be inside the hotel, and not cheap.

Hotel is clean and very good view”
Good hotel, good view but difficult to find food inside hotel. We stay for 1 night on 28 December 2019. We try to make reservation for all restaurant but they said all of the restaurant is fully booked. Finally, we order food from room service. Please add the restaurant capacity to accomodate all the quest in Windsor Hotel.

Excellent”
A hotel staff asked us if we had checked out when we were on the bus leaving the hotel to jr station. We said “yes” but she asked again if we had paid. ??What the.. She left and confirmed that we did check out and paid. When she returned she showed us no apologies. She should had checked first instead of asking the guest in face. It feels really uncomfortable and offensed

No communication between management and staff”
I called earlier in morning to request for a non smoking room and two beds. I was told no problem. But was given smoking. I asked if we cited check in around one or 2pm. I was advice that hotel policy is after 3pm. we can only check in after that. They claim to be 5 stars. I’d like to see that star that they got. Upon arrival, there was no valet attendant. They were all sitting in the back room. Because our room includes breakfast and we’ll be leaving the hotel at 5am to go sightseeing, we asked if we could have a take out box. Staff said that we could only have toast then he comes back and says no we can’t have anything after talking to another staff. So I said I’ll talk to management the next day. Too many to list. The bottom line is that staff lack training and their responses lack consistency.

Bad experience ”
The view and snow was beautiful, especially the outdoor onzen. However that was all. I understand this is an old hotel but the design and furniture are so outdated and old fashioned. The room is tiny and we didn’t get a very good view from our window. Another disappointing fact is that food is over pricy yet not worth it at all. We have been to the French restaurant on the 1 st floor, and the breakfast buffet. Neither of them are is delicious. Wifi is extremely slow and sometimes even no connection. The indoor onzen was very boring too. Luckily we had snow there so the snow activities were fun, but still, with the price you pay for, this hotel didn’t live up to my expectation at all.

Yes, a view, but that's about it.”
Over-priced, very underwhelming onsen, poor restaurants that are absurdly priced. Not convenient to get to/from. I would recommend driving up to look at the view from the lobby and stay somewhere else.

Unprofessional and rude staff”
I booked this hotel mainly for using an indoor pool. However, the staff at the pool was very unkind and rude when I asked about swim cap rental. Also, its spa was disappointingly small. The location was very remote and hard to reach by a car at night. No worth $300 plus.

2nd Visit”
This is the 2nd visit and stay in Windsor Hotel Toya in the summer. The first time was around 5 years ago, still vividly in my memories during my last visit and this visit lives up to my expectation. The hotel might have aged a little from my last visit but nevertheless the all other aspects of my stay has been nothing my almost perfect. I have two dinner and breakfast at the resort, also around of Golf, which they have provide clubs rental, although please bring your own shoes and balls. I have booked this room only 1 week in advance therefore it might have been pricier than its usual rate. I recommend a bigger room than what I have booked to enjoy the most out of this hotel.

The best hotel we've ever stayed in”
My husband and I only stayed 1 night in this hotel. We thought it was a little pricy when we booked it but the moment we entered the hotel, we didn't want to leave. The hotel lobby is definitely the most grand I have seen, with a stunning view of the Toya lake. After the valet parking, the staff let us sit in sofas by the window of the lobby, served us drinks and checked us in while we were seated (so not traditional way of checking in). The check-in staff even asked us for our plans of the night and the next day just to make sure they can make appropriate arrangements for us if necessary. We chose a lake view room. It overlooks the whole Toya Lake. I couldn't think of a better place to see the lake. We tried the onsen and swimming pool too, which are really great too. The staff are very polite. The highlight of the stay was really the breakfast. We had the choice of Japanese and French style breakfast and we chose French. It was indeed the best breakfast served. Services were very good too. The only thing, if I have to pick one, is their staff's English language skills. Some of them are quite good (like the guy who checked us in), but not everyone. This was particularly a problem when we tried to order something on the phone.

Absolutely stunning view ”
We got a room on the 15th floor and we had the most amazing view of Lake Toya - absolutely breathtaking. Yes the accommodation is on the expensive but this resort is so well equipped and beautifully maintained. Staff were super prompt and attentive, they helped take in our luggage from when our car pulled up, we received complimentary parking, drinks on arrival to the main lobby area where the is either a harpist or piano playing. I do recommend making a reservation at any of the restaurants for dinner, even though the hotel is huge, it wasn't fully booked but all the dinner time slots were taken as we didn't make a reservation at the french restaurant as the facilities list didn't indicate it was a requirement like the other upper scale restaurants, however they were fully booked until 8pm (we went to get dinner at 530pm as we didn't have a proper lunch that day). We ordered room service instead which was a nice touch seeing as our room was so beautiful to stay at anyways.

One of the best resort i've ever been to”
this hotel is one of the best resort i've ever been to as i travelled around the world. The restaraunts are magnificent. 3 of them are michelin stars. The food is great with a superb services. The room view is the best view of lake toya and ocean. You dont have to go to any mountain for a view like anybody. I could say you can find it here at this hotel. I will definately come back here again for my next visit without any doubt.

beautiful but a bit confined”
Windsor's room is fantastic, spacious and overlooking an amazing view with both snowy forest,Toya Lake and seaside. However, the Hotel is a bit isolated from the Toya Lake being on the mountain. If you look for skiiing, this is a great place. IF you look for moving around the city, this is a bit far. Restaurants need early booking, or you end up with room services. Staff are polite, but their English certainly can be improved...

Excellent hotel to stay for winter activities.”
The sheer size and scale of the hotel is something you don't really get in Japan. Even driving to the hotel you can see from quite far away the hotel perched on top of the mountain overlooking Lake Toya. When you finally arrive, then you get a feel of how big the hotel actually is. We had originally booked Junior ocean view suite, but I think we got upgraded as we were on our honeymoon. The view from the room was amazing. They have one 3 Michelin starred restaurant and another restaurant with 1 Michelin star.
