World's BEST Boutique Hotel!!!”
From the staff, the rooms and of course, the decor... This is will go down in history as the best hotel that I have ever experienced and I've travelled all over the world.... The Hotel is one of the most unique, eclectic and eccentric hotels you could ever find. The Staff is amazing... There is a young bartender there that is well on his way to becoming an elite in his profession... and the guy can make a good drink also!! I will be back to this place! Thanks guys for the wonderful experience!!!

During busy bar hours sometimes the guests are forgotten. There are no tables reserved for guests(?!) You could be with no place to sit.

Loud when bar is busy”
We stayed for one night (30th April) on our way back from Portofino, having never been to Milan before. The city was busy and it appeared to be a holiday. Hotel looked nice on arrival. Shown to our room which opened directly onto bar area, I even mentioned to the staff member showing us the room if it would be noisy, I was told no, the bar is quiet. Fast forward to 11pm returning from dinner to hotel, bar very very loud and busy (and smoky). could hear everything in our room and smell the smoke. We both had a truly awful night sleep until 1-2am when everything shut. This made our one night in Milan miserable. I suggest to management next time if there is a holiday or a busy night in the bar do not offer those rooms to guests. Had I have known our room would open directly onto the bar I would NEVER have booked it. Room decor and size was lovely though dark because opened it onto the inside bar and had to keep blinds shut for privacy. Also had some trouble working the safe which we've never had before at a hotel.

One of the best boutique hotels in the world!”
One word: awesome. We stayed in the Yard Suite and Dependance in mid-July 2013 for 3 nights, after a trip to Switzerland where we had stayed in three different hotels (including a lovely one in St Moritz). The Yard Suite and Dependence experience was the best, bar none. Check-in was easy. We booked a suite, and was delightfully assigned to the JFK Suite on the 2nd floor. The suite is spacious, with a large living room, a walk-in closet and a balcony. We particularly like the black and white decor. The bed is huge and comfy. There are an expresso machine and a mini-bar (drinks, no snacks). Water is charged at 2,50 euro a bottle. WiFi is free, and worked perfectly fine throughout our stay. The bathroom is tastefully designed too, with a glass opening to the balcony. The toiletries are by CULTI, which are lovely. The towels are white and fluffy. Just perfect. Overall, from the public area to the suite we stayed, the hotel is clean and well maintained. And the breakfast! The choices are ample, and the food fresh and nicely prepared. Every morning there would be something different from the day before, which is a thoughtful touch for guests staying for more than one night. The Yard is not far from the metro station, but it will be easier to take the bus/tram (not sure; never used) number 3 from around the corner to Duomo. Alternatively a taxi ride to the Duomo area costs less than 10 euro. A big thank-you to the Yard. We enjoyed tremendously our stay, and will definitely be back when we are next in Milan.

Staying in an antique emporium”
Extraordinary hotel with a fantastic ambience. Everywhere you turn you are surrounded by and knee deep in 20th century photographs, books, and artefacts. Fantastic staff enhance the experience. We stayed in the Club Room which is huge. With enormous sofas and your own bar. There was a big conference in Milan when we were staying which made all hotels (including the Yard) more expensive than normal so not quite great vfm. Great for couples, young adults etc. Situated in Navigli which is very lively and the hotel bar on Saturday night was packed with bright young things. We loved it and would definitely stay again.

Great Hotel with outstanding service.”
the yard is just a little hidden for the first time you arrive, with very easy access from the autostrada, but once on property everything is perfect. they knew how to get to every place i wanted to go immediately. the parking is under the hotel, at a charge but very convenient. the room was large, with just enough furniture all comfortable, the bathroom was outstanding both in design and function. i especially liked the size and firmness of the bed. the internet access was easy and free, wifi included, there was also several unused outlets for charging your devices which i very much appreciated. there are only a few steps to several tram lines and you reach the duomo in less than 10 minutes. nothing i can think of was not satisfying, and i have been to milano before many times paying a lot more.

Wonderful combination of chic & comfort!”
We spent the last few days of our trip to Italy at The Yard Milano. Location was great and staff was lovely (courteous, prompt & informative), but staying at a chic hotel that felt so comfortable was the perfect thing at the end of our trip. We really enjoyed spending time on the terrace of our room as well as browsing through the great memorabilia throughout the hotel. Would definitely stay at The Yard again!

Best boutique hotel with unique design ! ”
Wow :-)!!! Our last night in Italy, I really should have extended my stay at the Yard ! We were staying at the room called "club house", which is huge, and it was my first time to see a HD projector and Onkyo stereo (amplifier)in room ... I should bring my blu-rays :-)The design and decoration are unique, I'm travelling to many countries, but never see any hotel like this, reflected the taste of the owner and designer. You could find many oversized coffee-table books, design catalogues and interesting collections in the room, and every corner in the hotel. The staffs were really friendly, patient and helpful, their suggestions saved a lot time for us, you know, we only have 1 day in Milan :-) overall, The yard gave us a wonderful ending for our trip in Italy, I like it, definitely recommend it to everyone and expect to stay there again to some try different rooms :-)

Best Staff Ever!”
My friends and I stayed at The Yard Hotel May 2017 and it was wonderful! The staff was very friendly and helpful. My favorite was Marco and another guy (can't remember his name. it starts with a D, i think). the rooms are very unique and clean. The location was perfect. it was a 5 min walk to the strip of restaurants by the river. and up the other side of the street was a great shopping area. At night the lobby area, which was exotically decorated, turned into a lounge and would be full of people, but it's not disturbing to the guest. I encourage all to stay here. I know i will when i come back for another Italy trip!

Excellent location - very helpful staff”
Despite building work on the front courtyard which made the entrance a little difficult to discover, I was given a very warm welcome at the yard hotel. I think by way of an apology for the building work I was given a complimentary coffee on arrival. The room was a sports themed room complete with basket ball. The light switch for the shower was difficult to find (beside the basin) but otherwise it was an immaculate and comfortable room. I was not disturbed by the building work as the room was at the back of the hotel. Overall a very comfortable place to stay in a good location in Milan.

SUPERB and ORIGINAL”
One might think, walking in, that because the hotel is so very original -- some might say funky -- that it would be odd as well in its services. No. A second glance will tell you -- the seemingly scattershot oddness of the decor is in fact impeccably designed -- and if you stay there for a week, as I did, you will find that the services are exceptional. In addition, I love the neighborhood. If you are looking for the Milan of high fashion, La Scala, etc don't stay here -- or be prepared to take public transportation (good in Milan) or taxis. For me, the neighborhood of the Navigli made me love Milan on this, my fourth trip here. Every bit of it feels like the Italy one dreams of and not the cold commercial city Milan can seem to be. And the surprise of seeing the canals at night, lit up, filled with people, restaurants, strolling --this is something special, as is the hotel.

Great boutique hotel close to the centre of milan”
we originally booked a deluxe suite for 3 nights at this hotel due to the great reviews we had read and it's proximity to the city, and parking available for our hire car. once we arrived we were pleasantly surprised when we were upgraded to a single bedroom apartment at no extra cost. the apartment was fantastic, great size with lots of room to spread out, cooking facilities, small dining area, hd cable tv (most channels with alternate english language), large bed, modern bathroom etc. the room had a nautical theme with framed posters, model sailing boats and various paraphernalia tasteful decorating the rest of the room. the staff were extremely friendly and helpful offering suggestions on where to go for dinner (including a fantastic recommendation on a near by argentinian steak restaurant), as well as directions into the centre of milan (5 tram stops away which was literally a 5 minute trip). the reception area had a fantastic homely feel with a huge shared dining table where breakfast was served. breakfast was the best continental that we have had so far on our trip, with home made jams and marmalade's, excellent fresh croissant's and a good selection of meats, yoghurt, fresh juices etc. there is also a great deck area off the reception area with lcd tv's heaters and super comfortable lounges, would be a great place to spend the evening in the warmer months! the only con we could find was that the reception was a little hard to find initially as it was on the first floor and sign-age was poor. this is currently being resolved however as they were in the process of moving the reception into the ground floor.

Highly recommended ...”
A boutique hotel with a superbe and special interior design, located almost on the navigli canal and 20 mins walk to the cathedral. Every room has a sports theme: hunting, boxing, horseback riding .... Beautiful modern decor and an amazing helpful staff ... The breakfast is fair but not that somptuoueous in terms of quantity and variety ... The only downside of this hotel is the odd smell in the hallways which can be repulsive: it is dogs smell!

Great, location teeming with exciting nightlife.”
This boutique hotel was different than any hotel you've ever stayed at, i am sure. The staff and service was a 4+. The location in Navigli has an exciting nightlife a was 5. The Milanese are out and about all night at restaurants & bars. Walking around Navigli is safe and could be romantic with that special person.

Amazing hotel with quirky cool rooms”
We really loved our stay in The Yard. The suite called The Lodge had a safari theme and was really cool in terms of the quirky furniture and accessories. It was furthermore very spacious. The bedroom was great and the mattress simply amazing (so amazing in fact that we are going to buy exactly the same) The bathroom is nice, loved the rain shower and especially the water pressure is really good. The only small issue we had was with the heating, as that did not seem to work properly all the time. It especially became quite quickly too hot and it was difficult to control this. Although there is an espresso machine, one thing I thought that is missing is a water cooker in the room. The breakfast was good, although not everyone may like that you are sitting together with all the other guests on 1 long table. The location is quite good, as you are 2 km away from the city centre which is a 25 minute walk. There is a taxi stop right outside the hotel, which was very convenient. It's only a 5 minute walk to one of the canals which has some really nice restaurants.

Beautiful, unique hotel with amazing staff”
We had an amazing stay at the yard suite and dependance. After a long flight from Australia, the staff were so friendly and accommodating to us and continued in the same friendly manner til we left. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The unique design and surroundings made our stay all the more exciting. We look forward to returning one day and experiencing the new bar they were just opening as we checked out! Awesome breakfast included too. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
