More about The Yorkshire Hotel

The Yorkshire Hotel is located in the heart of Patong, one of the most popular resorts in Phuket. It is just a stone’s throw away from the beach and the bustling nightlife, which includes a vast variety of restaurants, bars, and discos. For avid shoppers, the hotel is directly opposite Jungceylon, the largest international shopping destination in Phuket.

The Yorkshire Hotel offers comfortable non-smoking rooms priced to satisfy all budgets. The property is comprised of a large swimming pool, poolside bar, sauna, steam room, and gymnasium. The hotel's restaurant and sports pub serve classic English cuisine together with Thai and European dishes. With three big screens and individual televisions available, The Yorkshire Hotel offers a wide range of sport channels within the restaurant. Complimentary Wi-Fi is also available throughout the property.

Being so centrally located, The Yorkshire Hotel is an extremely busy and popular hotel. Noise from the nightlife and passing trade is prevalent until the early hours of the morning, but if the party atmosphere is what you are after, there is no better home away from home.

Great hotel with great menu and friendly staffs...”

Menu, sports on the TV's and friendly staffs...

Having stayed at The Yorkshire Hotel on previous occasions, I like to go back as it has that homely UK English feel, with the Thai hospitality. I live in Malaysia, and love the food, but it's nice to have some real English food and cold pints of cider now and then, and The Yorkshire Hotel provides that. On arrival, we checked in and were taken to the other part of the hotel, next door, which contains the suites. I had booked a Superior Large Deluxe, as I like the modern, Thai decoration, but the porter took us to a one bedroom suite instead. I mentioned that this was not the room I had booked but after calling the reception I was told the reservations lady was on leave until the Monday and there were no other rooms available so I would have to stay in the suite for the night and then change the following day if i wanted to. As we were only staying for three nights, it seems pointless to unpack and then pack and move, plus we had planned a busy schedule and didn't want to waste time, so we stayed in the suite. The room was a throw-back to a quaint English hotel room, full of dark brown wood and mirrors on every surface. There was a fridge, a microwave, cutlery, pots, pans, plates, bowls etc. so it was well equipped but when in Phuket, why would you want to cook for yourself when the food is so good and cheap? The rooms were kind of dark, especially the bedroom, as it had no windows. Generally it was comfortable enough, just not what I had booked. The breakfast is second to none in Patong and a real feast, even for my huge appetite. The beer was cold and refreshing as always and the sports on the TV are also fantastic. Staff are always friendly and cannot do enough for you. We rented a moto from reception which was handy as the hotel had a copy of our passports so no need to leave as a deposit. All in all, another great stay at The Yorkshire Hotel, I just hope we get the room we originally booked next time...

Fantastic Value”

Outstanding Gym Facilities; Great Location for Nightlife; Fast and Free wifi Internet; Clean Rooms; Responsive Staff.
Mixup over mini-bar, but no big deal; Older rooms are small and not as nice as other rooms, but then again, they are quite a bit less expensive; Noise from hall traffic can echo along concrete floors, and street noise, while surprisingly quiet, can nonetheless be heard if a boisterous group of revelers pass by.

The Yorkshire Inn provides great value, particularly if you like to be very close to the nightlife yet want a quiet room in a hotel with exceptional facilities. I had 2 different rooms at the Yorkshire. I took an apartment the first night and was very happy. Spacious, comfortable, and very quiet. Even though it faced the street, I did not hear a sound. The next night all rooms except the small rooms were booked so I had to move. The room was clean and comfortable but a little cramped, and I could hear a bit of noise every now and then from the hallway or the street. However, the hotel amenities and location made up for any minor quibbles I had with the room, and I happily booked an additional 3 nights. Plus, the smaller room was significantly less expensive than the apartment and truly a fantastic value. Although I did not eat at the hotel, the food looked quite appetizing and all the diners seemed happy. The restaurant has a well-lit modern design with small flat-panels attached to the wall along seating areas so that you won't miss your favorite game. If you'd rather check out the scene, the restaurant and bar face out to the bustling street. If you are looking for a nice room at a reasonable price, you will be very happy at the Yorkshire, particularly if you value an exceptionally well-equipped gym; beautiful pool and spa; fast, reliable wifi; and a very attentive and professional staff. I will surely stay there again if I return to Patong.

A top hotel with a family run feel”

The hotel is in an ideal location on soi sansabai which is just opposite the famous Bangla Road, it is a short walk to the beach and the jungceylon centre is just around the corner from the hotel.
There is no lift and the restuarent food was slightly on the expensive side.

I have stayed in six other hotels in patong including The Holiday Inn, but The Yorkshire Inn Hotel is the best hotel I have stayed in. It provides anything and everything that you would expect from a top hotel and the rooms are spotless and new looking. The air conditioning is quiet and works a treat. The whole hotel is modern and well laid out with a fantastic pool, gym sauna and steam room. There is an excellent choice of English and Thai food, and I have to say that this is the first time that a hotel has actually became part of my holiday, and it is all down to the staff, but i'll talk about that in a minute. The hotel offers a great laundry service and clothes are washed and pressed and packed and left back in your room 24hrs later. The hotel can sell you trips and tours around the island, but you can buy all the same trips from the Mexican bar over the Road at about 400bht cheaper(£8)You could also save a bit of money by eating away from the hotel and taking your laundry to the shop over the Road, but who can be bothered with that. I have to say I loved the Yorkshire Inn and the food was great and overall good value for money, it was just the tax and service charge they put on everything that bumpbed the prices up, but then again the service was the best I have ever had anywhere and I don't mind paying that bit extra when it means that they can employ the fantastic people who work at this hotel. So finally onto the Staff. Without a doubt it is the staff who make this Hotel so great, and I really do mean every person in every role. It is more then professional service with a smile. You actually really do make alot of friends amongs the staff. They are interested in you and your day. They are not over managed and allowed or even encouraged to interact with the customers with that cheeky Thai charm that wins you over. The Hotel has that family feel about it and whether your stay with them is a few days or a few weeks, they will make you feel a part of their family,

highly recommended!”

Location, Facilities, Price, Nice Staff, Amenities, Free Wifi

the hotel exceeded our expectations immensely. i have nothing but good stuff to say about the yorkshire inn it’s like this little hotel that could. from the outside, it looks just like a local sports bar/restaurant but oh you’ll be surprised that it’s actually a hotel with really nice rooms, a gym and swimming pool too. we booked a large double deluxe room for around 3600baht. it had a really nice ambiance to it, a working safe, big screen tv, ref, a nice odorless bathroom, free wi-fi etc. you can even print stuff and use their computers for free. we were actually tempted to just spend the night in the comfort of this wonderful room. but of course, if you only have 1 night and 1 day in phuket! make the most of it! location - it's a minute away from bangla road which is a perfect spot for a night out on town. it's really the place to be. it's also 5 minutes away from patong beach. the most popular beach in phuket. ammenities - it had everything we needed. the room was top of the line. no worries here. the bathroom was also very clean and well-kept! facilities - they had a good gym and pool too. plus nice and comfy shower areas. (we checked out in the morning but they let us use their shower facilities when we came back from our island tour so we can wash up before heading for the airport) staff- the staff is really accomodating and friendly. :) the only downside is that they don't offer free breakfast. but the food was good though so make sure to still order at the restaurant when you can.

Great Apartment in the heart of the action!”

Quiet room, right in the center of the action

This was my first time to Phuket and wanted to stay in the heart of the action and had found the Yorkshire was highly recommended for this. I had read the reviews of the smaller rooms and didn't mind to spend the extra on the apartment. Finding the hotel was easy from the Airport as it is right across Bangla Road on Soi Sansabai. Greeted upon checkin with explanation of the amenities and helped up to my room. The good thing about the apartments is they are situated next to the Yorkshire, so it was a little quieter (which is what I wanted). Mini-bar (affordable), daily room cleaning and accomadating a few of my extra needs (extra towels etc..) were done with ease and a smile. There are very few windows in the apartments, which made looking outside directly at the next building a bit of a drab but when you're in Phuket you won't be in your room unless you're sleeping!

The Yorkshire Hotel and Spa”

Close to Bangla Road, clean facilities and excellent spa.
Hotel charges not only the 7% VAT but an additional 10% service fee when using the Hotels paid facilities including meals. Much cheaper to eat outside of hotel.

I would highly recommend the Yorkshire Hotel & Spa to anyone staying in Phuket. The facilities are great and the staff were very helpful and accomodating. However, make sure you get the deluxe or superior rooms in the newer wing of the hotel as they are larger. There is a new 24hour convenience store that recently opened 3-4 doors down where you can buy your drinks and snacks at about 1/4 of the price the hotel charges. Bangla Rd is only a 1 minute walk and the Beach is only a short 5-7 min walk away. This hotel is surrounded by great places to eat and is quite literally in the centre of all the action in Phuket. Will definitely stay there again if I go back to Phuket.

Everything was perfect

the yorkshire hotel was an excellent choice for my stay in patong beach. having been to patong beach on several occassions i found this hotel has everything you need when on holiday. the price is reasonable, the location is perfect, the food is amazing and the staff were extremely friendly and curtious. there are various rooms to choose from depending on your budget but regardless of which room you choose you have access to all hotel facitities. it has a spa, a nice size pool, an excellent fitness facility and superb resturant/pub. it appears to be well managed and i cannot say enough about the helpful, professional and curtious staff. i will be back !

Great Hotel and Fantastic Staff but....”

Location, Location, Location

The Yorkshire Hotel is right at athe heart of Patong, it's minutes away from the nightlife and shopping centre. The food is amazing, the chef is to be complimented! The only negative point is this... My buddy and I both managed to get an apartment each, his was on the ground floor and mine was on the 3rd floor. So far so good... however his apartment had a window and a view of a wall 6ft away (this isn't really an issue considering the cost) but the lighting in his apartment had low energy spiral type lamps which stuck down below the ceiling and could not be dimmed, it was a trifle bright. My apartment howver had recessed dimmable lamps and a view (altho nothing to write home about) it did ensure that to a certain extent that the room didn't feel claustrophobic. So... management change those godawful lamps and any visitors try to get a room with a window (that shows some sky). Apart from that I will def stay there again but be more choosy about the room (it was night before booking due to a complete screw-up and false info given by the previous hotel). Agoda were extremely helpful and I cannot thank them enough for the prompt response to my complaint about the booking I had made for a previous hotel.

Great Location and Staff”

Location, Staff, Pool

The Yorkshire Hotel is conveniently located very near Bangla Rd. in Patong Beach, Phuket Thailand. The room was a decent value given the location and the quality of the room. This is an older facility and the building and furnishings are a bit dated. The pool and gym facilities were better than I expected given the location so close to Bangla Rd. I had a deluxe room and the size was adequate. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was of decent size. The shower area was just a slightly lowered tile area with a drain like you will find in many Thai hotels. Water pressure was great. Plenty of hot water. My room had no view and I don't think many of the rooms did given the location. There was no elevator and all of the rooms are at least one floor up. Excellent wifi connection and speed throughout the hotel, including the pool area. The food in the restaurant was OK and breakfast was NOT included in the rate. I thought the food prices a bit high but not outrageous. Beer prices were reasonable. No kettle or coffee provided for use in the room. Many restaurants are withing a short walking distance. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. If I were to travel again to Patong I would consider staying here again.

First trip to Phuket...wanted to venture Phuket and hence didn't want to spend much time staying in luxury hotels...so we decided to stay in Yorkshire Inn...I like it best is the location. Near enough for the night entertainment, the shopping, the crowd, but also far enough from the noise that you can have a peaceful sleep at night....Staffs are friendly and helpful...and they remember their guest!! Rooms are clean, big and spacious...What more can you asked for for such a great deal... It's the prefect place to stay in... Nice pool, got its own sauna too...what to mention the gym...we utilized all it's facilities there...cool~~~ we actually extended our stay at the same hotel...it was realy nice~~

Best value for money in Patong”

For an unbelievable $60 per night you get a nice clean room with queen size bed , crisp fresh bed linen , stocked fridge , shower and toilet , room safe , hanging space , storage space , and 2 free bottles of water every day. The location is perfect being a continuation of bangla but away from any noise. There are bars and a variety of restaurants and shops , money changer all around it. The food and bar in the Yorkshire Hotel is popular with hotel guests and even guests from other nearby Hotels to sample the traditional English breakfast and Dinners. Its nice to sit at the outside bar with a nice cold beer just people watching. Jungceylon , Starbucks just around the corner. Bangla and all its entertainment just at the end of the road. Nice clean room and the friendliest staff ever. All the girls are so polite and helpful , and a special thanks to LYN for taking the time to download and print off my 2 x flight tickets. There is another bar where drinks and food are served around the pool area. There are sunbeds and shaded table and chairs. There appears to be a substantially equipped Gym so something for everyone. Definitely will return here again and the savings made on the accommodation costs can be used on entertainment.

best hotel gym in all of Thailand

I extended my stay yet again so I get to review the Yorkshire another time... Well, as I mentioned before, I've stayed in this place upwards of 20 times now. Every time I stay in Patong, I stay at the Yorkshire. No exceptions. Best gym, best pool, best staff, etc. in all of Patong? What more do you need? Sure, it's not on the beach (it's on the opposite end of Bangla, the Rat-u-Tit intersection), but it's 100m from Jungceylon Shopping Mall, 100m from Baan Zaan Fresh Food Market, etc. so the location is wonderful exactly where it is.

Ordered breakfast at the hotel a couple of times and they forgot to bring out some of the things I ordered. Mind you I was complicating things by placing an order not on the menu

I was really impressed with this hotel from start to finish. Rooms were cleaned every day without being hassled by the cleaners. They actually waited until you were up about and asked if now was a good time to clean it. The gym and pool facilities were great. The gym was a great way to work off the previous nights beer intake. I have never been as impressed with a hotel for the price paid. It was my first time visiting phuket and only a short trip. I will definately stay here again next time im in phuket, hopefully for a longer stay and will recommend the yorkshire to friends

Great stay in center of Patong”

It is very conveniently located to all of the lively Patong nightlife and shopping. The front desk staff are very friendly and fun. The cleaning staff was also very friendly. The pool and gym were nice extras. The wireless signal is strong on all floors of the hotel. The price is reasonable, especially when there are special promotions. The food at the restaurant below was very good. Personal TVs in the restaurant booths were nice when dining alone.
The restaurant was a bit pricey compared to nearby alternatives. In room safes would be more convenient than having the safes behind the front desk. Minibar is overpriced.

I've stayed at a number of Patong hotels, and the Yorkshire is my favorite so far. It was really close to the Jung Ceylon mall, and the Bangla Road nightlife. The gym is much better than the old Patong gym, and the pool is an ammenity rarely found at such an affordable hotel. One side of the hotel doesn't get much sunlight in the rooms, which is nice for sleeping in. I would definitely recommend the Yorkshire and plan on staying there again. To sum it up, the Yorkshire is not the ritziest hotel in Patong, but it offers great value for travellers on a budget.

A good hotel”

Central patong location

the yorkshire was good, stayed with my gf we had room 5 it was quiet but smelt musty. we had come from chiang mai and were shocked at the cost of things in phuket. (sometimes triple) be prepared to pay 150 baht per person for the trip from airport to hotel. there's very few meter taxis. and the locals admit to price fixing for transport so expect to pay 100 baht anywhere on a motorbike or 200 tuk tuk. and they don't like to barter (60 in chiang mai) the hotel staff were pleasant and friendly, and breakfast was great although the coffee can be hit and miss make sure you visit absolut bar the live band is good and it's a nice bar to people watch. the cd shop just over the road also do very good dvd's also nothing was stolen or went missing during our stay and the housekeep staff were always lovely.

My review of Yorkshire Inn”

Friendly staff, fantastic location, nice clean rooms, good food, hotel provided alot of coupons and well equipped gym
Couldn't find anything majorly wrong with it!

The Yorkshire Inn really lived up to the hype. People who rip this hotel apart really don't know what they're talking about (or they're just too cheap to get the better rooms!). My gf and I stayed there for 4 days and completely loved it! Good clean rooms, wonderful staff and a convenient spa and gym connected to it made it a fantastic stay! I've stayed in many big name hotels before and I have to say that this "small time hotel" left a real big time impression on me. I'm definitely going back to the Yorkshire the next time I'm back in Patong!
