A friendly and comfortable experience”
I arrived quite early in the morning at the Z Hotel Soho after a long, overnight flight from Shanghai to London. The staff welcomed me warmly, but was unable to immediately check me in as no rooms were available. However, they stored my bags while I went out for a walk and breakfast. I was happy to receive a call from the reception staff one hour later, indicating they could get me in. This was an unexpected but very appreciated surprise! Like other reviewers, the room I chose was very small. And, I chose one without windows (I like the almost complete darkness for sleeping!). However, given that my intention was to spend my two days in London touring, visiting museum, and catching a show or two, size was not important to me. The bed and linens were so comfortable and I slept soundly...the perfect antidote to jet lag and touring fatigue. One of the really special aspects of staying at the Z Hotel Soho was the free wine, cheese, crackers, fruits and nuts, offered to hotel guests between 5pm and 8pm. Being somewhat social, I found the cafe staff to be among the most friendly I can recall in recent years. The warmth and hospitality of the staff at reception and in the cafe will be the primary reason -- even over location and comfort -- that will bring me back to the Z Hotel Soho on future visits to London.
Easy, convenient, no-frills”
The Z Hotel is convenient to the Soho and West End area and a short walk to the Underground station to access the rest of London. I found the room efficiently designed. It's best suited for a short stay and mostly sleeping. There's little space for much more than the bed and bathroom. Don't expect a view or lots of tables and drawers -- it has none of these. I did think the bed itself could have been a tad cleaner but wasn't put off by the experience. Overall, the discount price is appropriate for what you get.
Funky, Cool hotel in the heart of SOHO London”
Z hotel Soho is a modern sleek hotel in the heart of the Soho area of London, close to all the cafes, restaurants, bars, clubs and theatres...perfect. Room was clean although small, but functional. Staff were great and really helpful. Also free cheese and Wine in the arvo... awesome way to start your night out.. Only downside to this fantastic Hotel was the breakfast, Cooked breakfast (eggs, bacon & toast)was expensive and made by the lobby staff In the microwave… can have heaps better breakfast just down the road for half the price…
Great stay in the centre of London”
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, even though it was only for one night. I occasionally stay in London on business and, from now on, the Z Hotel Soho will be my hotel of choice. I really appreciated the clean, well-appointed and comfortable room. The complimentary wine and cheese on arrival was a nice touch and greatly appreciated. The staff at reception and in the bar were delightful - really welcoming, helpful and polite. The location, right in the centre of London, couldn't have been better.
Urban City Hotel”
The stay was very pleasant and I am a very satisfied customer of Z Hotel Soho. The location is excellent - very accessible to all parts of London, many within walking distance. The Tube stations, bus stops, major attractions such as museums, gardens, shopping malls and cafes are within easy reach. The most outstanding attraction of this hotel is its cleanliness. Definitely value for money. I am a very urban, city person and this hotel has a view that keeps me excited about what this city has to offer me this next time I step out of it.
Trendy boutique hotel”
the z is a trendy boutique hotel located in the heart of the leicester square/ covent garden area of soho/west end. the rooms are small but excellent bedding and shower areas with large flat screen tv offering great content. there is also free wifi in the rooms and throughout and an added bonus is the complimentary wine and cheese offered each evening in the intimate common guest area at ground level. the staff are all young and proactive - very pleasant and willing to help in all respects. i highly recommend this hotel.
Lovely hotel with excellent location but small roo”
We stayed at this hotel with a friend for a weekend trip in London. I would be happy to recommend the Z hotel to everyone who wishes to stay at a comfortable place in the heart of Soho. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the atmosphere was youthful, urban and international. Rooms are very small and not really a place to spend time, but that wasn't what we were planning to do anyway. Some rooms were also a bit difficult to access so probably not the best choice for wheelchair users.
superb location, noisy at weekends”
the Z hotel SOHO is located in the center of London, with no longer than 15 minutes walking distance to major attractions including London Eye, the British Museum, big ben etc. The staff is polite and helpful, willing to give any help they can.
Excellent Hotel”
This hotel is a gem hidden in the cool area of Soho. The hotel staff are extremely friendly and the hotel facilities are great. The rooms are convenient and cozy but exactly what is required for a night out in London. The complimentary cheese and wine buffet in the evening was a complete surprise. Great selection of cheese and a choice of Italian or French wines. I would recommend this hotel to any one as it is cool and trendy and just a stones throw from Piccadilly and Leicester Square. I enjoyed this hotel so much one night turned into three.
Very impressed ”
We enjoyed our stay at the Z hotel in Soho. We had a room without a window and the room was a little smaller then I expected but it was very cosy. The cleanliness of our room was great and the bed was very comfortable, this hotel is great value for money and I was come and stay there again.
Show”
We have stayed in z hotel in bath which was larger than the one & had a window, the room in soho, we wouldn’t stay again in this hotel because it was so much smaller & the aircon wasn’t sufficient, I would recommend but would say that they are different in size. This room was more like a pod it didn’t have a window in it.
recommended ”
location is bang on for soho, ronie scotts is 1 minute away, the strand, covent garden. hotel is well decorated, smart, clean, modern. staff were very helpful and welcoming. for the price I was expecting 'no frills' so i was pleasantly surprised to be offered complimentary wines and cheeses. a nice addition that added to the experience. the rooms are quite small but you do know that before booking. all was as described on the web site. I think for stays of more than 2 nights the lack of space might drive me a bit mad. as said, the location is very central to the action so do expect noise from the street. you have decided to stay in party central so stay up late and enjoy the atmosphere to avoid a disrupted sleep. lie in later - the street is very quite at 8am :) full english brekfast is available at the hotel for a reasonable £11 inc tea and juices
Small rooms in a great location”
The hotel location is excellent, in the middle of Soho. It is near a number of great theaters, restaurants, and pubs. It is a few blocks from several Tube stations. The hotel is still relatively new, so the rooms were clean and had modern furnishings. The rooms are very small, but I only slept at the hotel and was otherwise out enjoying London.
Awesome location, comically small room”
Best price possible for a hotel in Soho. Tons of restaurants, cafes, and bars just outside the hotel. British Museum and Trafalgar square are an easy walk, and a subway stop is very close by. I'd noted warnings about the size of the room prior to booking and figured compared to previous hotels we've stayed at in the UK and Tokyo, it would be about the same. It was smaller. I've seen closets bigger than our room. Great place to stay if you don't have much luggage and enjoy being really intimate with your travel companion.
If your hotel is only to sleep in ”
Great 4 nights stay at the Z hotel Soho. As far as location you can't find any better. Close to the main attractions in soho, covent garden, leicester square, oxford street, all within 5 minutes walking distance. The room is trendy , well furnished , but yes small. So if your idea of vacation is lounging in your room and taking breakfast in bed with a lazy bath then look elsewhere. The Z is for the traveler who uses his hotel to sleep shower and go. It is a shame to spend anymore time being in you room while in Soho. The staff is helpful and the complementary cheese and wine for the clients is a nice bonus. Will surely return.
Ideal for a short break to London”
We had a fantastic short stay. Location wonderful and ideal for West End theatres and Soho. Hotel room clean and modern, and quiet despite being on a busy road. As others have said, the rooms are not spacious, but this was a problem for us staying only one night. The cheese and wine were a real bonus - was not expecting such a variety and choice of cheeses and wines, and all in lovely surroundings. It would even be worth paying the £12.50 as non-resident in my opinion. Would stay again in London or abroad.
Great Location!”
It's kind of crazy how small these rooms are but if you are in town on business or just looking for a good location, this is it! The hotel is located very close to Piccadilly Circus, London's Times Square, and in Soho you are among loads of great restaurants, pubs, and shopping. You are also between the tube stop that goes directly to the airport (Heathrow) and the Northern line that goes to Camden Town, a MUST see. If you are not planning on spending too much time in your room, out to sightsee and explore, this is a great choice. The rooms are very clean and newly renovated and the staff is superb. Free wine and cheese in the cafe daily from 5 till 9
Stay in Soho”
The ZHotel was fabulous. The room really was not roomy but very nice and modern. As we stayed mid-week we enjoyed complimentary wine and cheese between 5-8pm which was lovely. We had the continental breakfast which was also great and there was a good selection (including a bacon sarnie!). We would definitely stay again for a night, two at a push but no more due to the lack of space in the room. The location is very central in Soho and the price reasonable. We had a great time and would recommend.
Nice centrally located hotel at a good price.”
I have stayed at Z hotel several times and I have never been disappointed. It is a nice small hotel at a prime location. The rooms are not big (compared to international standards), but they work well and have a nice design. The hotel is further close to the metro and is located in the very center of London. Do be aware that some rooms have fairly short beds - and not all rooms have windows. The breakfast is nice and the afternoon bar (free wine and cheese bar) is also a fine place to relax or debrief after meetings.
Small rooms but....... ”
Comfortable, quiet - in spite of being in the heat of Soho, modern, everything worked perfectly and the staff were extremely helpful - thanks! Yes, the rooms are small but we are told in advance and as we were only there for one night we didn't have a problem. We had a last minute deal which made it an extremely good deal.
