This is an absolute fantastic hotel. Cannot fault this hotel in any way. From the time of pick up from the pier to drop off the experience is great. Food is avsolutely fantastic and very well priced. Portions of food is very generous and very well prepared, they cater for Thai and western food. The rooms are grea, spscious and very well maintained. The views from the room are spectacular!!!!!!! I would certainlyvso far to say that this is the best hotel I have stayed in!!! The service is great and staff are always friendly. Happy hour from 5-9 at the pool bar with very nice cocktails and spectacular views over the bay. I would not think twice to book this hotel again.

We loved Shark bay. It's such a secluded small bay with amazing waters. Definitely the best beach we'd been to in Koh Tao and Koh Samui combined. The resort is nice but I'd recommend that if you stay to pay the extra and get a bungalo on the beach as the resort rooms themselves are a bit far back, lots of steps, and not all rooms have a view of the bay. But we still loved it here and you have a choice of two good restaurants. You can also hire snorkels from the resort or organise a diving trip. To get into town is hard as they have limited scheduled shuttles so you'd have to get a taxi if those times didn't suit. However if you're looking for a few days to escape you wouldn't want to go anyway here anyway - we didn't. Only thing I was a little disappointed about was no gym but not a biggy. Would definitely come back here!

we have been to thailand and koh tao many times, as backpackers and as luxury holiday goers! i remember the first time i went to thian og bay (shark bay) it was literally just the beach and a shack, you could bearly buy a drink on that beach, and now wow it is a fabulous resort, slightly sad but also very beautifully and tastefully done. we chose to get married on the beach on the 5th of march 2015, and it was magnificent, we stayed in a pool villa, and everything from the moment we arrived was amazing, the service from managerial staff is fantastic, they really took care of us. the room was beautiful. the only thing i would knock is the food, compared to other places on the island its overpriced, which i wouldnt mind if it had tasted incredible but it was bland and not up to standard from my point of view. the price of the rooms is very high, but i understand they have a clientele they wish to cater for and it keeps out the others, I had a wonderful time staying in Haad Tien, and if you have the cash to splash then the rooms are worth it.

Really enjoyed our stay here. We had a slight mix up with our booking through Agoda but Chen behind reception quickly sorted this out for us. Our room was lovely and good value for money. Other reviews are correct in that there are steep steps down to the sea from the resort - the trade off being you get great views from your room! Breakfast was simple but more than adequate and there are some great eating options a ten minute walk away in Chalok Bay.
