2 relaxing weeks at THINK”
My wife and I had a wonderful stay of almost 2 weeks at the THINK and Retro Café in Lipa Noi. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at THINK. Chalie, his wife, and the staff were incredibly nice & helpful. This was our 2nd visit (the first was in early 2017). The shipping container bungalows are well designed and kept sparkling clean by the staff. There is A/C in the sleeping/living area and the bathrooms are separated by sealed glass doors. Other containers and repurposed materials are also used for the café/restaurant which is on the beach side of the compound. Think has managed to create a multitude of individual spaces to hang out, eat, have a drink, while keeping everything open and connected. The restaurant has an extensive menu of Thai and Western food. Naturally, seafood predominates. We did not try any of the Western dishes except the Tom Yum seafood pizza (it’s quite good!), but we did a good job of eating our way through the Thai menu. Everything we had was good to excellent.

Lost paradise on Koh Samui”
We had a wonderful stay in THINK & Retro Cafe because it is away from all the tourist attractions of Samui. It was quiet and perfect for relaxation. The hotel currently has only 4 rooms, which are actually converted containers. They are building three more rooms. We upgraded to the beach front room, which offers a beautiful view of the beach. The food and drinks are excellent. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and convenient. We enjoyed the retro style of the hotel.

Funky place on the quiet side of Samui.”
Cool design made of shipping containers, very quiet area on the south west side of Samui between Nathon and Lipa Noi piers. There is nothing of note within walking distance, so a moto is a must (rental available at the hotel). Food is good, real coffee is a HUGE PLUS, owners are very nice. Rooms are nice, although we had a little leak in the roof during a heavy downpour. If you want to get out of the Samui insanity, this is a good option. Has the feel of a funky coffee shop on the beach. Nathon is the closest town (10 min moto ride), which has a great night food market and a few trinket shops, but otherwise is a standard port town that closes early. Now that Chaweng is out of control, check out this area for some quiet time.

Hidden Gem for budget travellers looking for serenity”
Ok so this hotel is located pretty much as far as possible away from the tourist areas of Samui. If you are looking to get some R&R on a budget it is fantastic. There is a ferry terminal 5 minutes down the road which services Phangan and Surat Thani, and you can rent motorbikes right when you get off the boat. There is a new Family Mart 24H / day open across the street from this hotel. It is a very cool and unique boutique hotel located and on very beautiful and private cove of Samui. Literally no one on the beach in front of the place or anywhere nearby. There was one boat in the cove while we were on the beach, water is clean, sand is white and soft. Hotel is shipping containers which they have converted into rooms / restuarant / office etc. Rooms were spacious, clean and surprisingly modern. Staff were very helpful, food and drinks at the hotel were cheap and good. Down the street is Nikki Beach Club. Perfect for R&R getaway, if you are looking to be near nightlife and activities you should stay somewhere else.

Relaxing”
We wanted a place where we could relax and this place was perfect. It's right on the beach and their restaurant is awesome. You get the beach all to yourself which it's nice. They also have live music on Thursdays and Sunday's and happy hour everyday. The rooms were big with A/C for a cheap price. Its on the other side of Koh Samui if you're looking for a calm place

Retro piece of paradise ”
The rooms were cleaned daily, very clean, the staff were helpful and friendly. We rented scooters for the week great price and good quality scooters. The food was good needed more spice or the option of more spice. The rooms spacious and relaxing. The beaches were within steps and quiet. Breakfast was served on the beach. The cafe is right on the beach serves breakfast lunch and dinner The owners always attentive and accommodating. I would always come back here. A definite must

Lovey quiet beach resort, ideal for couples and families”
We looked for an affordable quiet place by the beach and we definitely found it! The rooms are individual shipping containers which gives it a nice flair. The Internet does not work in the rooms really but it does on the balcony. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The beach is beautiful and very quiet. There isn't much around but a 10 - 15 minute drive on a motor bike, that you can rent in the hotel, takes you to shops, restaurants, etc. The food is also very good. An extra plus are the super cute cats that the hotel owns, it should be around four cats plus two tiny kittens at the moment. I would overall recommend this place to people, lovely place to relax.

Cute and quaint ”
If you are looking for a serene getaway location on a budget then this is for you. Hotel is constructed out of old shipping containers and they have done a great job. It was very cheap to stay here also. Located on a serene beach and cover. lovely. not many other hotels or shops nearby, there is a Family Mart across the street and the food at the hotel is good if you eat Thai. This hotel is about as far away you can be from the city centre/nightlife area of Samui though. So if you are looking to party skip this place.

Really Nice "Bungalows" - perfect location”
I really recommend this place! The bungalows, which are old containers are very basic but you have everything you need. The location is perfect, directly at a beautiful beach. The bar which is a part of the "hotel" is very nice and you get breakfast directly at the beach every day (american or thai style). Staff is really nice and very helpful! You can also rent scooters there, very uncomlicated (you will need a scooter because there is not much around...). We liked it a lot and extended our stay there :) If you want a nice, quite and simple accomodation that is the right place for you!

Disappointing”
The look of the property is really nice and 'retro', but overall our stay was quite disappointing. 1) Most of the staff always looked bored and acted unprofessional. They would rather be sitting on a chair than look after their customers. We felt really uncomfortable. 2) The owners were never really present at the property. On our second night our entrance door broke down and the staff couldn't help us. They told us that the owner would fix it the next morning but in the end we were waiting till the afternoon and had to ask for a new bungalow since our door was still broken. 3) Our mattress in the first bungalow was completely broken on one side which gave back pain. 4) Our room wasn't cleaned properly, even not after asking about it. 5) The place was way less remote than we hoped it would be. 6) The bungalows really need a renovation. There were also a huge amount of mosquitos in the semi open air bathroom, which was a big deal for us, knowing about the dengue problem at Ko Samui

We had such a wonderful time in this quiet but beautiful location. The restaurant is popular for day trippers and residents, and it's an easy place to chat with people and make new friends. The food is fantastic, the staff are friendly, and the rooms are clean and spacious. We are definitely coming back to stay longer.

Super clean and friendly. Motorbike for rent was absolutely uncomplicated but apart from the hotel and a small supermarket you should expect not a lot more. Bike or car needed.

Way more than expected!”
I was pleasantly surprised, and had enjoyed my stay in a shipping container. I have been giving some thought to this type of construction for a small beach home, and glad to see the creative designs for the hotel. Food is awesome (try the black pepper soft shell crab), nice beach, comfortable rooms.

Close to Land Transport Office”
Nice cute and cheap place to stay near the Raja ferry pier. 1 min away from the land transport office so super handy if you’re there to do your driving license tests. Just beware the mosquitoes!!
